The Fall Ball -
Chapter 34
(Ash)
Alex mind-links me.
“My Prince, there are vampires in the palace. They got into Rose’s room. They are not attacking. They say that they were sent by the goddess, and told a story of Rose as a baby. They are sent here to train and help her with what is to come.” He tells me.
“Okay. Just keep an eye on them. They may stay for now. Can you please escort them into the Kings office once they are done talking and Rose is ready for bed? I will let my dad know to expect company.” I reply.
“They are finished, and Rose is in her room. I can hear her crying from inside her room.” Alex tells me.
“I will check on her after our conversation with the King. How many are there?” I ask.
“There are five of them,” he tells me.
I close the link with Alex and open one with my Dad.
“Hey Dad, I know it’s late but we have an emergency meeting. Can you meet me in your office?” I ask him.
“Yeah, I can do that. Is this about the vampires that the guards told me were in Rose’s room?” He asks me.
“Yeah it is, they are not attacking us and had information on Rose. They are here to help her with things that are to come.” I tell him.
“Okay I will be there soon.” He tells me.
I get to the office first and I take my normal seat next to my dad’s chair. My father walks in next. He looks like he just woke up. I am positive he was sleeping and I woke him up.
“Sorry about waking you up,” I say to him.
He just nods at me and sits down. Before we can say anything else the door opens again. Alex appears with the five vampires.
My father and I stand up. All five of the vampires bow to us.
“Alpha King James, I am sorry for intruding into your kingdom. But we are here because we need to be. My name is Raymond. I am the leader of our group. These four behind me are my head trainers. They are Levi, Landon, Leonardo and Lucas. We do have five more with us, but they are going to be staying in the woods to watch the borders for me.” Raymond says to us.
My father motions for them to sit down. We all take a seat except Alex. I look at him and nod.
“Alex, thank you for bringing them to the office. You are relieved of your position for the night. Please relax and get some rest. I expect you to be outside Rose’s suite in the morning.” My father says to him.
Alex nods and walks out of the room.
Raymond chuckles. My father and I look at him.
“I’m sorry for that. But why do you have two guards watching over someone who is capable of protecting herself and her pack all by herself?” Raymond asks us.
“Why do you think that she can protect herself and others?” My father asks him.
“Because she is a royal, and even without her wolf, she is more powerful than any of us in this room. Her wolf will only bring her more power.” He says while looking at us.
He tilts his head to the side, and smiles at me.
“Well, based on your scent, I am guessing that she does not know yet that you two are mates? And so, you feel better with more eyes on her until you can mark her?” Raymond asks me.
I look at him and nod.
“Yes, I want to be sure she is always guarded to protect her. She is my mate and our future queen, she needs to be protected at all costs.” The vampires all nod at me.
“Part of the problem is that she just learned that she is a royal. As royals don’t get their wolf until 18, she assumed she was a human, and never did any training. So, she has no idea how to protect herself, and with her upcoming powers coming forward she has no idea how to control them.” I tell him.
Raymond nods at me.
“Well we can help train her. That was something that we are destined to do thanks to your goddess.” He says and the other vampires all nod with him, agreeing.
“Well, now that’s settled. Where will you be staying?” My father asks them.
Raymond smiles, “We will stay in the woods. We can hunt there. And we will train her in the afternoon in the woods as well.” He tells us.
“That makes me a little uneasy,” I say.
“And yes Ash, you or your guards are able to join in to be sure that she is safe.” He says with a smile.
I nod at him.
We all stand to leave my fathers office. The vampires all leave first.
“I will tell all the guards what is going on, and tomorrow before the others arrive for the ball we will do a meeting for all that are in the kingdom. We need to let them all know that we are safe, and the vampires are no threat to us.” My dad says walking out of the room.
“Oh and when you go into her room, be sure you stay in control of your emotions. You wouldn’t want to upset her more than she already is right now.” He tells me with a smile.
“How did you know I was heading that way?” I ask him.
He smiles at me.
“I once was young too, my dear boy.”
