Chapter 40

(Rose)

As we walk into the living room. I stop in my tracks. Sitting in front of me is someone that I had hoped I wouldn’t have to see again. I am beyond frustrated and before I can help it, I am speaking to her.

“Why are you here?” I ask the she-wolf in front of me. She smiles sweetly at Ash; she completely ignores me. I let out a warning growl. Everyone in the room turns to look at me.

“Ash I came by to see if you wanted to go to breakfast with me,” Abby asks him. I growl louder this time. She looks at me and smirks, “You again? What are you doing here?” she asks me.

“What am I doing here? I have every right to be here as this is my suite. And Ash is busy this morning and won’t have time for you.” I say snarling at her.

“Abby why are you here?” Ash asks her. He steps closer to me and places his hand in mine. The sparks of his touch help to calm me down, and I begin to relax some. He smiles at me.

“Like I said I wanted to go to breakfast with you,” she says with a pout.

“We have never gone to breakfast before, so why now?” Ash asks her, and I giggle. Ash looks at me confused.

“You told me you were dating him. And that I needed to show respect to those above me. Yet you have never gone to breakfast with him, and from the looks of it I don’t think you were telling me the truth.” I say to her.

“What?” Ash asks me. So I tell him about what happened the day we went to the mall. He lets out a growl and pulls me close to him.

“How dare you disrespect her. She is my mate and will be your luna queen someday. You need to learn to respect her. And you should not tell lies about something that you are not. I have never and will never be with you.” Ash yells at her.

Abby cowers to the ground. “ I just thought that if you had to pick a mate you would pick me. I am beautiful. I know how to be a leader and I am already a part of the kingdom.” She says with tears in her eyes.

She stands up rubbing tears from her eyes. She locks her eyes on me. “You! This is all your fault!” She yells as she lunges at me. However before she can touch me, a gust of wind knocks me back.

I look around at my surroundings and in front of me are the five vampires from last night. Raymond is pinning Abby to the ground while the others are all hissing at her. They are standing in front of me like a shield to protect me.

“My Queen, what would you like done with her?” Raymond asks me. I look at Ash, but he looks just as surprised as I am.

“Umm, can we place her in a cell for now? So that I can talk with Ash and the King to decide what to do with her.” I say to him.

He nods at me. He stands up while holding on to her. He guides her out of the room and the other 4 vampires follow him out after they all bow to me.

“Well that was fun,” Craig says from the doorway to his room. “Can we go eat now? I am starving,” he says as his stomach growls.

I giggle and Ash shakes his head in amazement. We walk to the doorway. As we get there I see that Alex is standing guard outside. He nods towards us and then follows behind.

I pause and turn to look at Craig and Alex.

“Question, with you out here and Craig inside, how did Abby get inside the suite?” I ask them.

“Well she told me that she was sent here by the kitchen to see if Ash was coming down to eat this morning. So I told her she could wait on the couch for you.” Alex says while looking at the ground.

“Well next time, keep anyone out of the suite. You could of linked me to ask for her.” Ash says.

“Will do, I didn’t know that she was here to cause problems.” Alex says.

“So we will eat and then head to my dad’s office. I have already linked him to let him know about Abby. Seems like we will have a lot to discuss.” Ash says to me as we walk into the kitchen.

It smells amazing. We are the only ones in here other than the kitchen staff, who all stop and bow to us. I look at Ash and he just smiles at me.

“They are showing respect to the future King and Queen. It’s gonna happen a lot so you might as well get used to it.” He says while handing me a plate.

I pile bacon, eggs, and toast onto my plate. On my way to sit down, I notice Craig watching me. “Everything okay?” I ask him. He nods at me.

“Your wolf must be close, because you have started eating more and that’s a good thing. You will need your strength here soon enough.” He says to me with a smile.

Ash sits next to me. We all eat in silence. We are getting close to being done. No one is saying anything. It’s like we are all stuck in our own heads trying to process what is going on.

As we all get up and thank the staff, we place our dishes in the sink. We head out of the kitchen and start to head to the Kings office, but before we get to the stairs, I am stopped in my tracks.

Why is that smell here?

“Rose!” I hear being yelled from behind me. I smile as I turn around. I am so happy they are here.

“Rose!” they yell again, running up to me. “We missed you so much. Alpha informed us of what is going on, and we wanted to be there to support you.” They say, hugging me.

From behind me I hear a low growl and I giggle.

“Who is that?” they ask me at the same time. I smile at them and walk back to Ash and grab his hand and lead him to them.

“Mom, Dad, this is Ash; my mate” I say with a smile.
