Chapter 65

“Lilly, you have got to stop running my clothes. If you keep shifting like this, I wont have anything to wear.” I say to her. “Sorry, I just got too excited. I want to meet Aspen.” She tells me. I roll my eyes.

“Well, I am going to shift now,” I hear Ash say. I watch as he starts to take his clothes off. But I turn around as he goes to remove his pants.

“I was watching the show…” Lilly tells me. “We have already seen it all. I am just trying to be polite, I am sure you have drool hanging out our mouth right now.” I tell her. She shakes her head and drool goes flying.

I laugh at her, “See I told you.” “Well, he is good looking, I cant help it.” She tells me.

“You can turn back around.” I hear Ash say.

As we turn around, we are greeted with a sloppy k**s from Aspen. “Sorry, he is excited.” Ash tells me.

“You are absolutely beautiful,” Aspen says to Lilly. She responds by nudging him.

They take a few minutes to themselves. They rub all over one another, scenting each other.

“Will you stop it already? She smells like us.” Ash says to Aspen. “I want to be sure that anyone who comes up to her knows that she is ours.” Aspen responds.

Oh no. Not only can I hear the human thoughts and the wolf’s thoughts. I can hear them talk to one another.

“Did you know that this would happen?” I ask Lilly. She is silent for a few moments. “I was not sure if I was correct or not. But I did suspect that we would hear their conversations with one another as it’s all in our heads.” She tells me.

“Are you ready for your first hunt, my Queen?” Aspen asks me.

“Please don’t call me your Queen. But yes, we are ready.” I tell him.

“Are you going to stay present or is Lilly going to have full control?” he asks me.

“Lilly will have full control but I am going to present.” I tell him.

“Lilly will have full control but I am going to present.” I tell him.

“Be careful with her. She hasn’t done this before,” I hear Ash talking to Aspen. He continues to warn him, but before he says too much more, Lilly cuts in.

“I have done this before, it’s just been a while.” She says to them.

“I am sorry, I forgot that you have been around for a long time. I just want to keep you and Rose safe,” Ash tells Lilly.

“Well, let’s get going. This isn’t the only activity we have to do today,” Lilly tells them.

Aspen responds by nipping at our back legs and taking off running into the woods while letting out a howl.

“Well, I guess its time to go then,” Lilly says while laughing. She lets out a howl and chases after him.

The two of them run after each other, taking turns leading the way.

I space out and let them have their fun.

The woods are so different while in wolf form. I can smell and feel the damp earth beneath our paws. I can smell the wild flowers that grow along the path way. I can see so much further. I watch the birds in the tree up ahead of us.

All of a sudden, Aspen comes to a stop and crouches down low to the ground. Lilly slows down and crouches down next to him.

“What is it?” She asks him.

“Look in front of us.” He tells her.

We look in front of us and there in the field next to the woods is a herd of deer. I can feel Lilly getting excited as she watches them.

“Are you ready?” She asks me.

“Ready for what?” I ask her.

“Well, in wolf form you will hear everything clearer and you will taste and feel everything I do.” She tells me.

Oh, I didn’t think of that. I have never hunted a day in my life. This is a totally new experience for me.

“Yeah, I think I am ready.” I tell her.

“I am going to let you take the lead on this.” Aspen tells Lilly.

She doesn’t even respond to him. She crouches down and slowly makes her way to the edge of the woods. We are still hiding in the brush at the edge of the woods. About 10 feet away from us there is a doe grazing on the grass.

Lilly crouches down extremely low and takes a giant leap towards the doe. She lands right in front of it. She wastes no time. She launches towards the deer. She latches on to its neck.

I feel the pulse as Lilly grips tighter with her teeth on its neck. She takes a moment and shakes her head while pulling back with her teeth. Causing the deer’s neck to break.

After the neck breaks, I can feel our mouth filling with b***d and I can taste it. Lilly lets go completely and I hear the pulse completely stop.

Lilly licks her chops to clean the b***d that is running down.

“Are you okay?” She asks me.

“Yeah, I am okay. It was exciting, but strange. I am sure over time it will feel natural to me, like it does to you.” I tell her.

We look around and see that Aspen had also brought down a deer and is dragging it over to us.

“I am impressed that you did that on the first try,” Ash says to us.

“I told you already, its not my first time.” Lilly says to him with a huff.

Aspen laughs. “She is a wolf, you know, it is in our nature to hunt and kill things.” Aspen says while laying down next to his deer.

“Why don’t we enjoy our meal, before we have to go back to the palace and interact with all of our guests,” Ash says to us.

I step to the back of my own mind while Lilly enjoys her kill.
