Chapter 69

(Rose)

I can hear Lilly trying to talk to me, but I can’t understand what she is saying. My mind feels all foggy. I try to remember what happened before everything went black. I was in the hunt, I was found by Craig and then….

The scent of death….

Vampire…

I was found and taken by a vampire.

“Lilly!! Can you hear me?” I ask her.

“Yes I can. What happened? Why does our head feel all foggy?” She asks me.

“We were taken by a vampire. I don’t know who or why though. I just woke up.” I say to her.

I try to move and realize I am free. I am not tied down at all. I just feel weak. I try to listen to things around me and try to gather my surroundings before opening my eyes and letting the vampires know that I am awake. I hear nothing.

I open my eyes and pull myself to sit up. I look around and notice that I am in a bed. A nice bed in a nice room. I turn and look around and see that I am alone.

“What kind of kid-nappers are these people? This is nice,” Lilly says to me.

“Ya it is. This is strange. Lets go see what is going on.” I say to her while getting out of bed.

I stand and notice that by the bed on the table there is a note with my name on it. So I pick it up and open it.

“Rose, I am sorry that we had to meet in these conditions. But we could not come and speak to you while you were at the Castle. I do not mean you any harm. I would just like to talk to you. There is a bathroom that you may use to shower and clean up. Once you are done, you can come down to see me. A guard will be waiting for you outside your room when you are ready.”, It says to me.

Well, this just got even stranger. I see that there is a window. I go over and look out. I see that I am on the ground floor. I see beautiful rose gardens. They are so pretty. I look to see if the window opens and notice that it does. Why would they let me stay here alone when I could escape??

I walk around the room and look around. I walk into the bathroom. I stop in my tracks.

“That has got to be the biggest bath tub I have ever seen!” Lilly exclaims.

“Same, let’s take a bath and get cleaned up. Then we will sneak out the window.” I say to her.

“I have tried to mind-link the others but I can not. I don’t know if it’s because we are so far away from them or the number of vampires around causing our gifts not to work.” She says to me.

I fill the tub with hot water. Once the water is full, I strip down and climb in. I close my eyes and try to relax and not panic.

I must have fallen asleep, because soon enough I am in the void.

Selene is waiting for me. But she doesn’t have her normal smile.

“Selene, is everything OK?” I ask her.

“Hello Rose and Lilly, no everything is not okay. But I need to give you some information. We don’t have much time.” She says to me.

“So my sister is getting weaker. She is almost out of her powers. With the loss of her powers, she is losing control of the vampires that she once had. She has been to visit me a few times, but she is still trying to replace my stone. If she replaces it, she will have her full powers back, and I will loose all of mine.” Selene says.

“Okay, well, where is it? So that we can hide it away in a new place so that it can be better protected.” I say to her.

“Its not that easy, Rose. And another thing, the reason you have to wait on waiting to mark Ash. Once you mark him, you will gain all of your powers in full force and none of your powers will work on him. That includes healing. So do not mate with him until the world is safe from my sister as she will do anything to hurt you.” Selene tells me.

“Well, that is good to we will continue to wait. But what do we do about the stone? How do we keep it safe?” I ask her.

“The stone is safe, for now.” She says to me.

“Okay, well, I have a problem. I was taken by a vampire and woke up in an empty bedroom, and am currently soaking in the bath tub. They left a note saying they don’t want to harm me, that they just want to talk to me. I can not mind-link any one for help.” I say to her.

“Well, what do you want to do?” She asks me with a small smile.

“I want to escape, but after seeing that I am able to escape if I wanted too. That they say they just want to talk. I think that I should talk with them before I decide to leave.” I say to her.

“I figured that is what you would say. I will send you back. I am sure your water is getting cold. If you need anything, send Lilly to replace me and I will come to help.” Selene says while giving me a hug.

“Well, that was strange,” Lilly says to me.

“Everything since waking up here is strange.” I tell her.

I drain the tub, and dry off. I look for clothes in the room and notice that on the bed is a bag of clothes. I open it and replace a new pair of jeans, a shirt and undergarments, all the right size. I take the tags off and get dressed.

“Are you ready to go and talk to the vampires?” I ask Lilly.

“Sure, go talk to the people that want you dead. I think we are walking into a trap.” She says to me.

I put my shoes on and walk to the door. I take a few deep breaths before opening it and stepping out.

I see the guard that is supposed to take me to talk to whoever left the note. And I stop in my tracks.

“What the hell are you doing here?” I yell.

“Rose, I am so sorry that it had to be this way, I had no choice,” Raymond says to me.
