"Although you returned alive, you're seriously injured. Your strength will recover if you drink this bottle of energy."

Hearing the professor's words, the merfolk princess who was looking at Ludwig from the sidelines showed a look of reluctance. "Professor, I think he should drink it later..."

Seeing the princess going up to him, the professor raised one of his tentacles and slammed it fiercely on the princess' face. Paul glared at the princess and said, "Who are you to tell me what to do? Have you forgotten your position, you slave?"

While he was talking, his eight tentacles coiled around the princess' arms.

"If you don't want to die, shut up!"

After doing all this, the professor said to Albert, "I didn't notice that you humans are quite charming, but what's the use?"

Paul fiddled with the bottle of liquid energy in his hand before he bent down.

"But in order to make my body more perfect, I'd better wait before turning you into the target of my experiment."

At this moment, Ludwig suddenly felt the floor under his feet giving way. Paul and the princess fell into a dungeon.

Above them, the professor glanced at Ludwig and said, "I'll let you stay here for a while and deal with you after I'm done with my business. No, to be precise, it should be the two of you."

Then, the floorboards above their heads snapped shut.

Both of them promptly fell into darkness.

It was fine for Ludwig. With his rules of insight, he could still see this underground cage no matter what. However, this seemed to be the first encounter for the princess, and she did not have any night vision ability. Thus, she could only hold Ludwig's arm tightly.

Her arms trembled slightly.

Ludwig looked over with his rules of insight and discovered that the areas on the princess' arms where the professor's tentacles had grabbed before had festered.

However, the princess made no mention of it and seemed to be suffering through it.

Ludwig covered the princess' arms with his source of life.

As the green life essence slowly spread over the skin of the princess' arms, the wounds started healing.

"What's going on?" The princess was startled.

She felt the power of the life essence slowly healing her arms. The tremendous life essence refreshed the princess.

"You aren't injured at all, are you?" The princess suddenly asked in a low voice.

Ludwig smiled and said, "If I hadn't put on an act, how could I have misguided the professor and let him lock me up with you?”

A look of joy appeared on the princess' face.

Ludwig was the merfolk kingdom's last hope. Now that Ludwig was not hurt, she was very happy.

"So you've thought of a way to deal with the professor, right?" the princess asked.

Ludwig nodded, but he suddenly covered her mouth.

A burst of footsteps sounded above their heads.

After the footsteps faded, Ludwig asked the princess softly, "Now, can you tell me what has happened to the merfolk kingdom?"
