Chapter 48

Kenneth's gaze shifted between Gary and Madison. After taking a glance at the amount displayed on his phone, Kenneth made up his mind."So, you promise me you can save Marty?" Madison nodded.

"Alright. I'll pay you." Kenneth took a deep breath. "But you need to get Marty back to his seuses first”

"Sure thing."

Dary licked his flywhisk. With a smick, he just stood to the side and watched.

After sizing up Madison, Gary noticed she seemed weak and underfed. Her bright eyes didn't show any signs of cultivation, so he was convinced she couldn't do it

Madison went up to the bed. She carefully observed Marty, and her eyes eventually shifted to his wrist.

On his wrist was a sapphire bracelet. Hanging from the bracelet were a flower and a seed pod. The bracelet was dainty and refined, making it look out of place when a man wore it.

"Marty found this bracelet somewhere. If you like it, I can give it to you once you wake him up," Kenneth chimed in next to her.

Madison instructed, "Take off that bracelet."

Henneth was confused, but he still did as Madison said and walked over to remove it.

When he made contact with the bracelet, he felt a cold sensation as a chill ran down his spine. He gently tried to take off the bracelet, but it wouldn't budge. So, he tried pulling harder, but the bracelet felt like it was glued to Marty's wrist and wouldn't come off.

"What's going on?"

Kenneth's face tumed pale. With one hand holding Marty's wrist, he yanked at the bracelet with the other. But it still wouldn't budge. "How is this possible?"

Watching from the side, Gary fixed his gaze on Marty's wrist, and his expression changed immediately. "It's the curse of dual fate."

"What's the curse of dual fate?"

yes and chanted with trembling lips. He backed up to the door,

Gary looked terrined and kept retreating, swinging his fly whisk around. He quickly scanned the room with his eyes then turned and bolted away, fleeing the scene.

Seeing this, Kenneth and Carol were spooked. They blankly stared at Marty lying in the bed and the bracelet that was stuck to his wrist. An eerie chill started creeping up from their feet and working its way up. Even Josephine started to feel unsettled, too. She walked over to Madison and asked, "What's the curse of dual fate, I

Maddie?

"When the flower withers, a new life starts with the seedpod. Even though they are two separate lives, they come from the same plant. We call it the curse of dual fate."

Maddie walked over to Marty, and Kenneth quickly moved out of the way.

y's wrist.

She muttered a spell and hooked her index finger on the bracelet. With a gentle tug, it slipped off Marty's

"Red glamor adorned its two fates, the flower and seedpod bound as one." As her index finger touched the bracelet, the shiny sapphire lost its huster, as if it had lost all its energy

"Most of the time, the curse of dual fate is a love token."

Kenneth and Carol quickly stepped away from the bracelet. "What's going to happen with Marty?

"This is an unusual situation for Marty" Madison casually turned the bracelet with her fingers. "This item belonged to someone who's passed away. After it's been worn, it develops its own consciousness and is buried with its owner. It holds a part of the owner's love, hatred, and obsession."

"Is this what's causing problems for Marry?

"Sort of." Madison then asked Kenneth to get her some incense sticks and talisman papers.

Kenneth was back with the stuff in no time.

There had been plenty of spaces around the hospital selling these items. When all else had failed, people would turn to other methods for miracles.

The rest was straightforward. Madison Hit the incense sticks and summoned Marty's soul back

In no time, Marty, who had been staring blankly with his eyes open, blinked his eyes. The next moment, he jolted up from the bed and yelled, "Motherfucker! That scared the hell

out of me!"

That one sentence made the entire room go quiet.

"Marty Kenneth and Carol rushed over and hugged Marty, bawling their eyes out

porphine found herself becoming teary. She walked up to Madison and gazed at the bracelet on Madison's hand with a mix of fear and curiosity: "Didn't you mention soul-

cling disorder, Maddie? How is that related to the bracelet?

Madison replied, "The barret is imbued with negative energy, and it saps vitality. Since he went to a haunted place, he was the first person to be in trouble when he came across anything"
