"Why do I have to wear this?"

Kylan examined himself in the mirror, gulping in uneasiness and nervousness as he passed his palm along the lining of his suit. He raised his fingers to his gelled hair, playing with the standing strands a bit before poking his glasses up the bridge of his nose.

When Jonah did not respond, focused on his phone, Kylan turned around with a pouting look, "Jonah."

He raised his eyes rapidly, "What?" He seemed excited, and he stood to his feet, approaching Kylan and fixing his crooked tie, and when Kylan attempted to touch his hair, Jonah slapped his palm away. "Why are you so nervous? You look good," he reassured.

Kylan sighed as he observed Jonah's concentrated face as he fixed his ty, "I'm meeting your parents."

"It's not like you're telling them we're dating," he chuckled lightly, "we're going there as friends."

"I'm still nervous," he sighed stressfully. When Jonah was done, he leaned forward and pressed his lips to Kylan's and pulled away, not wanting his lips to be swollen. As he pulled away, he also grabbed the edge of Kylan's glasses and pulled them off his nose. "I told you not to wear them."

"I can't see without them."

"Then go put on your contacts," he motioned towards the bathroom, "you look better without your glasses on." Kylan blushed from the comment and entered his bathroom.

Moments later, they heard knocks on his bedroom door, and Jonah opened the door to replace Ella standing there in a long red formal dress. They were still not on the best of terms, Ella and Jonah, but they were civil for Kylan's sake. Hence why, when Kylan asked Jonah if he could bring Ella merely for confidence and comfort, he was not allowed to refuse.

"You look lovely," Jonah attempted to begin the conversation lightly, smiling in her direction. However, Ella scoffed, rolling her eyes, "I don't even like you, so don't try to play sweet with me." "Kylan," Jonah called to complain about Ella, and Kylan peeked from the bathroom doorway. "Ella," he grumbled, "be nice."

"I'm ready to go," Ella complained, sitting on his bed. "What are we waiting for?"

"I'm putting my contacts in," he replied.

When he finished, he exited the bathroom and widened his arms, "How do I look?"

"Damn," Jonah stood from his seat, seductively biting his bottom lip as he admired Kylan, running his eyes from his feet to his gelled hair and approaching him, whispering in a low breath, "If she were not in the room, I would do you right now."

"Alright," Ella blocked the kiss that was about to happen and pushed Kylan further from Jonah, "we need to get going."

Jonah groaned, narrowing his eyes at Ella's back as they exited the room, "Are you going to cockblock the whole night?" "Only when we are in a hurry."

"It's my house we are going to," he scoffed.

As they entered Jonah's vehicle, with his own personal driver already waiting in there, Kylan and Ella sat in the back. They arrived at his mansion soon enough, and although Kylan had been there before, it still shocked him, mesmerized by all the lights illuminating the surroundings and how beautiful the home was. Even Ella was speechless, observing all its glory as her mouth watered.

Jonah was the one to snap his fingers and bring back their attention, "A lot of people are already inside. Let's go. I want you to meet my parents and siblings before they head off."

However, Kylan did not move. Instead, he scratched the back of his head nervously, wishing he would have stayed home and refused to come to the Mayor's 15th Year of Marriage Anniversary. Not only were elite people of society invited, but he was to meet the mayor himself. Jonah sighed, approaching Kylan and wrapping an arm around his waist, "Why are you so worried?"

"I-I'm not..." he breathed quietly, and his stutters caused Jonah to lean forward and press his lips on Kylan's, hoping that it would give him a bit of confidence. It seemed to cause Kylan's face to soften as he focused on the navy gaze that caused his heart to melt and the warm touch around his waist.

"I admire you, and they will too."

They began their walk along the trail to the entrance and were greeted by security. "Young Prince," they nodded their heads in Jonah's direction as he walked behind Kylan. Kylan had stopped, and Jonah placed his palm on his back, pushing him inside and glancing over his shoulder to assure that Ella followed them.

The place was packed, having business people dressed in such formal clothes that Ella, having worn her best dress, felt underdressed. She reached for the back of Jonah's suit, and when he felt the tug, he glared over his shoulder, "Don't touch me."

"I don't want to get lost-"

"Then follow me, but you don't have to touch me."

Kylan heard the argument and stopped his way, reach around Jonah for Ella to grab his palm. When she walked around them and made her way in front of Kylan, who interlaced their fingers, she sent a sneer in Jonah's direction, causing him to scoff and sharply turn his head.

Eventually, Jonah squeezed Kylan's shoulder and said, "They are over there."

It was the mayor speaking to one of the councilmen, his wife nearby as well. Both Jonah's siblings were present in their small circle, and that caused Kylan to gulp nervously.

Ella shook her head, too nervous to even approach them, and she began marching in another direction.

Kylan frowned, "Where are you going?"

"I am not going up to the mayor," she said, stomping her heels elsewhere, "I'll be at the drinks section." And she escaped through the throng of people because Kylan could protest. That chased Kylan to turn around and face Jonah, "It's fine if I don't meet them."

"I want you to meet them."

"Maybe another time."

"Kylan," Jonah shuffled on his feet, shoving his palm in his front pockets, "I want you to meet them." He seemed upset, his eyebrows raising with desperation in his gaze, "Please."

Kylan inhaled sharply, and soon enough, nodded his head. It caused a small smile to tug Jonah's lips, and finally, he raised his head and said, "Father, Mother."

His parent glanced upwards and smiled at him as Jonah approached, Kylan following behind him with his head lowered, knowing that making eye contact would cause his heart to burst. Not just anyone had the opportunity to meet the mayor. "Jonah, how are you, darling?" His mother greeted, clenching him into a tight embrace, to which he returned.

"I'm good, Mom. Happy anniversary."

"How have you been doing, son?" His father greeted, raising his glass.

Jonah smiled, "I'm alright. I'm happy for you guys."

His father chuckled, "Glad to hear that."

"You're always so late," his older brother, Vladimir, chuckled.

Bella, his older sister, laughed, a bit drunk, and said, "At least he showed up."

His mother glanced behind Jonah to replace a boy attempting to hide behind Jonah's physique, and she reached for Kylan, grabbing his wrist and pulling him forward, "And whom might this be?"

Bella's eyes widened when she observed Kylan, examining his features as she breathed, "He's handsome."

"He's my classmate. He's been helping me a lot with my homework, so I invited him here," Jonah said calmly, grinning. When Kylan did not say anything, Jonah subtly placed his fingers on his lower back, poking him a bit hard, which indicated he needed to speak.

Kylan raised his gaze for a moment before lowering it, scratching the side of his head as he breathed, barely loud enough for any of them to hear, "Hello."

They frowned, and Jonah chuckled, "He's been talking about being nervous, meeting the mayor and all."

"You're nervous about meeting me?" His father repeated, observing Kylan and approaching him, placing a palm on his shoulder to which Kylan flinched, "You shouldn't be. A friend of Jonah is a friend of the entire family."

It did cause Kylan's body to warm, a father figure approaching him with such care, and he finally raised his head, meeting his gaze and noticing the same sharp features Jonah had. The navy was from his mother's eyes, and she smiled with such sweetness behind her regard that Kylan could not help but smile as well.

When they distance themselves from them, Jonah grabbing a glass of champagne from a waiter marching along with a tray, he said, "See, they weren't that bad."

"They were much nicer than I thought they would be."

"They don't like Bradley," he laughed, "said he is too aggressive, hence why I didn't invite him."

"I am not exactly surprised," Kylan chuckled. When he felt Jonah's palm tug at the back of his belt, attempting to reach in his pants, Kylan turned around and frowned at him, "You can't, not here."

"I can't help myself," he breathed seductively, biting his bottom lip as he lowered his gaze to Kylan's lips, "you look so...urgh, delicious." His short grunt was enough to cause Kylan's cheek to flush red, and as he attempted to look away and push himself from Jonah for some distance, Jonah grabbed him and kept Kylan pressed against him. "Let's go upstairs to my room."

Kylan gulped, "Don't you need to greet some people?"

"I don't care about them," he admitted, "they mean nothing."

"They'll notice we're missing."

"Kylan, I want you—"

"Jonah?"

A woman's voice called from behind them caused Jonah to turn around, and the colors on his face immediately drained themselves. Leah was standing there, in a ravishingly gold dress and her black hair curled, features that Kylan noticed. The girl appeared familiar, and Kylan squinted his eyes, wanting to know where he had seen her. However, the horror on Jonah's face was enough for him to know that she was not supposed to be here.

"Kylan," he muttered, turning around to face Kylan, sweat dripping from the side of his face stressfully, "I'll be back."

"Jonah, I can't stay here alone"

He looked around, noticed nobody was staring at them, so he placed his lips on Kylan for reassurance and then pulled apart, "I'll be back."
