In the afternoon.

As expected, the previous Director Smith had arrived. During the handover, she was nice, tellingMeredith anything that she didn't understand in detail.

Director Smith would come to Meredith's office every day for the next week and teach herpersonally, trying to get Meredith to get familiar with the work as soon as possible.

After work, she gave Meredith some advice on design, which was a surprise.

Although her ability was limited to B Department at Xavier Group's headquarters, she was still a rareteacher for Meredith who was not professional.

Derek ordered Director Smith to do so, which was why she was so dutiful. She rarely had chances tomeet Mr. Xavier, so she had to do a good job for him.

The next few days, as she had expected, many people stared at her with different eyes as long asshe walked out of the Design Department.

As for Ms. Ross, her attitude was totally changed this week. She showed great respect to Meredithand didn't even dare to make a sound during the meeting, probably because she was afraid thatMeredith would pick on her.

She picked up her son and looked at Derek. "Why are you here?” she asked.

Derek took her bag with a smile and said, "Our son misses you. Well, I miss you too, so we cameover."

Meredith pursed her lips and opened the door without answering.

She sat on the sofa with her son.

Derek offered to make dinner on his initiative, but...

"Meredith, Easton wants to eat tomatoes and eggs. Should I put eggs first or tomatoes?""Meredith, how do you cook? If I turn on the electric cooker, I don't have to keep an eye on it, do I?""Meredith, do you want lotus root or lotus root slices?"

Both of them were wearing aprons. They shared out the work. Derek, who couldn't do anything, wasnow a handy helper.

Derek was satisfied that they looked like a family of three.

At the dinner table, Derek was obviously preoccupied, looking at Meredith from time to time.Meredith put down her chopsticks and asked, "What do you want to say?"

"No, I didn't mean to say anything. Just eat. This lotus root is good. Eat more." Derek picked up foodfor her.

He sighed in his heart. Ever since Meredith regained her memory, he felt himself more and moresoft. When he faced Meredith, he had no dignity at all.

"It's not a big deal. I told you in J City that my grandfather wanted to see you. He wanted to ask youto come back to the Xaviers with me when you are free ."

Meredith was silent.

In fact, she was not surprised at all. Since she had regained her memory and now had Easton, sheknew very well that she had to go there in any case.

Meredith wanted to refuse subconsciously, but she changed her mind at the thought of something."Does your grandfather know who I really am?"

"No, he doesn't know you're Easton's mother yet. I haven't said that yet." He wouldn't have dared tosay it without talking to Meredith beforehand.

"What about your mother? Doesn't she want to see me?" Meredith said calmly.

Derek's face flashed with embarrassment. "Let's just meet grandpa. If you don't want to see theothers, we won't see them."

She looked over and said, "So your mom actually asked to see me, right?"

Derek nodded.

Meredith's heart flashed with a hint of sarcasm. Derek's mother didn't know who she was yet, so sheprobably thought Meredith wanted to married into the Xaviers for a better life.

Probably she wanted to remind Meredith up not to overestimate herself.

Meredith wondered how surprised his mother would be if she knew it was her.

Meredith wanted to say something, but she bit back the words when she saw Easton, thinking it'dbe not good to say it in the presence of her son.

"When?"

Derek looked at her and said, "Next weekend, any day is fine."

Then none of them spoke again.

Derek wanted to spend more time with Meredith, but when they finished eating, he helped to putaway dishes.

He held his son and said reluctantly, "Then, I'll take Easton back."

"Well, be careful on the road,” Meredith said lightly.

In fact, Derek wanted to stay here as it was already so late. Thinking that Meredith would definitelynot agree, he still didn't say it out loud.
