The Good Girl's Revenge -
Chapter 455
"Easton, what do you want to eat? I'll get it for you. You're young. It's not good for your health ifyou don't eat at night.”
Caroline looked at Easton in a very natural and amiable way. She acted as an elder and looked atEaston with concern.
She knew this little bastard didn't like her. He always looked at her coldly and treated her badly. If itwasn't for Derek's sake, she wouldn't have been bothered to talk to this little beast.
But now that so many people were watching, she knew that she still had to pretend to care moreabout this little thing. Caroline even had figured out how she would react if Easton lost his temper inpublic.
But...
Easton looked at Caroline and shook his head. His voice was very calm and he looked at herseriously, "Thank you, but no need. Dad told me not to eat anything that a stranger gives me.”Caroline's smile froze immediately.
The guests around looked at each other in confusion. What did Little Young Master mean? Did hemean that Caroline was just a stranger?
When they saw Violet introduce Caroline so seriously, they thought...
Caroline really wanted to strangle the little bastard. But she still tried to suppress the anger in herheart, and she forced out a smile, "Children like to joke. It's okay.”
Easton pouted, "I don't like to joke. Auntie Caroline, grandpa said that you're only staying at ourhouse for the time being. When will you move out?"
Such straightforward words quieted down the whole place.
Caroline felt so awkward. She only felt embarrassed when she saw people around looking at her.She gripped her palms tightly. The stinging pain prevented her from losing her mind in anger."Easton, do you really want me to leave?" She almost squeezed these words out of her gritted teeth.Easton nodded, "Yes, because my dad said my mom will come soon.”
As soon as he said this, Caroline's expression became sullen. The guests around them were in anuproar and there were clamours of comments.
On the outskirts of the crowd, Meredith stopped and felt helpless. She took a deep breath, turnedand quickly left the place.
She came because she heard Easton's voice, but as soon as she came, she heard her son's heroicwords. What could she do? Naturally, she couldn't bear to scold her son, so she had to run away.Caroline inadvertently looked up and saw Meredith leaving. She narrowed her eyes and a cold lightof ruthlessness flashed across her eyes. Without saying a word, she stood up and left.
Easton naturally ignored her and let her go.
"Miss Mason?"
Caroline quickly caught up with Meredith and stopped Meredith.
Meredith turned around and was taken aback when she saw Caroline. Then, Meredith noddedcalmly, "Miss Baker, what a coincidence.”
Caroline smiled gently, "It's a coincidence, Miss Mason. I need your help with something. Can youhelp me?"
Meredith was a little surprised, "What is it?"
Caroline's smile remained the same, "Miss Mason will know when you come with me." After that, she turned around and left first.
Meredith couldn't help but frown and thought for a moment before following Caroline.
To her surprise, Caroline walked straight through the guests and brought her to the main hall of theXaviers. Meredith couldn't help but stop.
"Miss Baker, what's is it? I won't go inside.”
"Just give me a little hand. You'll know when you come with me. It's okay." How could Caroline lether back off? She grabbed Meredith's hand and pulled Meredith up to the second floor forcefully.Meredith felt uneasy. Caroline was acting weird. Meredith could not help but shake off Caroline'shand, "What do you want to do?" Caroline didn't look like that she needed help at all.
They stood at the staircase. Caroline looked at her, "Miss Mason, actually, I brought you here just toreplace a quiet place and have a few words to say to you.”
Meredith looked at Caroline expressionless, “What do you want to say?"
"We're about the same age, so I'll just call you Meredith. I know you heard what Easton said justnow, and I know that the so-called mother in Easton's mouth is you.”
The so-called mother? Her words made Meredith feel a little uncomfortable. Easton was her son. Noone could deny this.
Meredith put on a long face and said nothing.
Caroline didn't care and she continued, "Miss Mason, I really didn't expect you to get tangled upwith my fiancé.”
Meredith, ".."
She was a little dumbfounded, a little speechless, and a little amused. Meredith could not help butrefute as Caroline said these words in a merited way.
"Miss Baker, I'm sorry. I have a boyfriend and I don't know who your fiancé is, so please watch yourlanguage.”
Caroline was stunned, "You have a boyfriend?"
Meredith curved her lips slightly, "Yes, my boyfriend's name is Derek. I just don't know who yourfiancé is.”
As soon as these words came out, Caroline became sullen.
Meredith continued, "By the way, you should have read the papers a few days ago. There's a reportabout our relationship. As for your fiancé, I'm not interested in him."
"Meredith, what do you mean?" Caroline couldn't help but grit her teeth.
"I should have asked you this question. Last time, at the auction, you bumped into me on purposeand told me all that specious information to make me misunderstand.”
"Now what do you mean by doing this?"
Indeed, on the way back from the auction last time, Meredith had a cold war with Derek for a while. But when she got home, she suddenly thought of something that she hadn't paid enough attentionto.
Derek was at the auction, and so was Caroline. Logically, Caroline must know that Derek was there, but from the beginning to the end, Meredith didn't see Caroline appear in front of Derek.
Besides, since Caroline was there, Caroline should have known that Meredith was Derek's femalecompanion. After Meredith recalled what Caroline said to her later, she found things interesting.Caroline narrowed her eyes and shrugged nonchalantly as she found that Meredith had seenthrough her tricks, "On purpose? The Xaviers are really satisfied with me. I'm not lying to you aboutthat."
"If you don't trust me, you can ask Auntie Violet if she wants me to be her daughter-in-law.”Meredith didn't need to ask. Of course, she knew that Violet would not prevent anyone frommarrying Derek except her.
We Mer looked at Caroline coldly and was about to walk past Caroline to go downstairs, butCaroline stopped Meredith, "Wait. I haven't finished speaking. You can't go.”
Meredith frowned and glanced at her. Meredith was too lazy to talk to her. Meredith walkedsideways and was about to leave.
Caroline gritted her teeth and a sinister gleam flashed in her eyes. She immediately took a step backand tried to pull Meredith. But Caroline missed her step and immediately fell back and rolled downthe stairs.
"Ah..." In an instant, a shrill scream pierced the sky.
