Both of them stammered, not knowing what to say.

The man in front of them was not an ordinary doctor at first sight. Seeing his grey hair, they thoughthe must be in a high position.

They sneaked in by pulling strings. So they were afraid of being found out.

They were a little stunned by his question.

The archivist came back and was shocked to see this. "Well, they are my friends. They are here tocheck some things in the past.”

"What are they?"

"Some kind of file from more than twenty years ago."

The doctor's face softened when he heard this.

"My mother is sick now. I need some information to see if I can replace a cure.”

Seeing how sincere Meredith was, the doctor's face softened slightly.

Now the doctor-patient dispute was serious. He was worried that someone would sneak in andmake a secret visit. If they made trouble after getting the information, their hospital would not beable to afford it.

Looking at Meredith, he thought her outfit was expensive and she probably didn't come here toblackmail the hospital.

"What is it? Say it. Maybe I can answer it."

"About... the delivering file 26 years ago?”

Meredith asked cautiously. What she didn't expect was that the doctor, who had just been friendly,suddenly became very serious. "Where could I replace anything from 26 years ago? Why are youlooking for those things?"

"My mother is suffering from a very serious disease and needs a bone marrow transplant. I can'tmatch her at all, so I wonder if the nurse took the wrong child to her. Doctor, life is at stake. Pleasehelp!"

Meredith didn't care about that much anymore. She had to be reasonable and emotional. What shehad to do now was to save her mother's illness. Otherwise, everything would be useless.

However, when the doctor heard her words, he wasn't moved but became a little angry. "I don'tknow what you said. Those things are just your speculation. You should go. Otherwise, I can only callthe security guards to get you out!"

Meredith and Penelope wanted to say something else. But, no matter what, the doctor wasunmoved and determined.

In the end, the doctor did call security guards to chase them out.

After the two women left, the doctor sat down in his chair. His tension and stiffness had eased alittle.

He had always been calm. Over the past years, he had conducted many surgeries and seen manydeaths. There were very few things that could touch his heart.

However, when he heard that woman was looking for the truth twenty-six years ago, his heartbecame nervous again.

What had happened in the past had never been forgotten in his mind for a moment. It had been solong, and he thought no one would ever mention it again.

But after all, someone came looking for it!

The doctor could not help but wipe away the cold sweat on his face. If that woman was not lying,then her mother really had that kind of complicated disease and needed bone marrow fromrelatives. This could be only blamed for her fate.

One must confront something even he wanted to avoid it so much.

"Don’t let anyone in, especially those two women. Otherwise, we can't afford the consequences!”The doctor warned the archivist again before returning to the office with some lingering fear.
