The greatest man alive novel (by Maverick Bowman) -
Chapter 462
When a group of related personnel came to Gerard's house and saw Crocodile's body, they couldn't help but gasp. They couldn't believe what they saw.
It was hard to imagine what Crocodile had gone through before he died.
"I didn't know you were this strong. How did you become this good? He is Mr. Crocodile from Blood Skull!" An agent of Homeland Security patted Hale on the shoulder and said.
"I didn't do it... I am not capable of doing things like this. It was him..." Hale pointed at Nathan, who was sleeping on the bed.
Everyone was puzzled. They looked at Nathan and didn't know how to react.
How could Nathan sleep after he killed Mr. Crocodile?
Hale was also shocked by Nathan. He knew the man known as Mr. Crocodile wasn't an ordinary man. However, Nathan killed him easily without considering any consequences. Young people nowadays are fierce!
Everyone in the Hopp family was distressed because of it. But Nathan didn't care and was sleeping soundly.
After four o'clock, he got up and went to Forest Park After arriving there, he realized that he had given two apprentices a day off.
I totally forgot about that!
Nathan scratched his head and whispered.
Nathan didn't plan to tell Gussie about his fight with Crocodile. He didn't want to mislead her.
After all, there were not many people in this world who had supernatural strength and physical fitness like Nathan. Most people would exhaust themselves to death if they fought like this. Nathan didn't have a choice but to practice alone.
When he was almost done practicing, he suddenly spotted someone he knew.
It was Evelyn.
She was dressed in sportswear and didn't wear any makeup. She looked as pure as the driven snow.
After Evelyn entered the park, she walked to a relatively high place that had no trace of others and sat down.
A ray of sunlight finally emerged from the east, cut through the darkness, and brought light.
"What a coincidence, Miss Mendez! Are you here to watch the sunrise?" Nathan walked up to her to break the silence.
Evelyn was Flora's younger sister. Thus, there was no harm in getting closer to her.
Evelyn didn't look back. "I'm looking at the sea!"
"For real?" Nathan was baffled for a second.
Then he nodded in approval. He hadn't known Evelyn was this artsy.
She was already a professional chess player who liked to play the piano. Now she was here this early just to watch the sea. She was the most genteel person he had ever met.
After the sun rose, Evelyn clapped her hands in satisfaction and took out a folding chessboard and two boxes of chess pieces from her small backpack. She opened the chessboard, sat on the ground, and moved the chess pieces.
Nathan approached her and watched it for a While.
After a dozen moves, he said, "Is that what I think it is?"
Evelyn wasn't playing by herself. If she did, then it would seem way too fake. She wasn't placing the chess pieces on the board randomly. It was the Queen's Gambit.
"Do you know about chess?" Evelyn raised her head and asked in surprise.
It was hard to imagine that a vulgar guy like Nathan knew what move she was playing after only watching for several seconds.
"Only a bit..." He was telling the truth.
After all, Evelyn was a professional player. He didn't want to get cocky in front of her and get humiliated if she defeated him.
"Play with me then," Evelyn wanted to play with him and said.
"I don't want to. You are a professional player. I am no match for you. I don't want to show my incompetence."
"You can move three pieces before I move mine," Evelyn said smugly.
Nathan shook his head. He knew how to play chess. He often played chess with the other guys in prison, winning their cigarettes. Although he didn't smoke, it was funny to see them getting anxious after they lost their cigarettes to him.
Hearing Nathan's rejection, Evelyn didn't insist. She just lowered her head and back to her chess board.
Nathan saw her delicate fingers placing the pieces on the board elegantly. The sound of the pieces hitting the board was very pleasing to hear. Even people who didn't know how to play chess would be interested in it if they saw Evelyn play right at that moment.
She was calm and graceful and had the ability to catch everyone's attention.
Evelyn's memory was astonishing. She can complete the game without looking at the chess manuals.
Soon, different chess pieces were placed on the black and white board.
"Ok, that's enough for tonight!" Evelyn quickly put away the chess pieces and chessboard, put them back in her small bag, and left.
Nathan was baffled. He couldn't understand why Evelyn was in a hurry. He didn't even have the chance to talk to her!
However, Evelyn hadn't gone far. She was stopped by a man. It was considered the most dramatic scene in movies. That man appeared in front of her from nowhere and began harassing her. Nathan felt like it was his chance to step up.
Just when he was about to move, he saw Evelyn snatch the man's arm and twist it hard. The man froze, and his arm was distorted. Then, with her slight push, the man hit a tree twenty feet away from her and passed out.
Evelyn clapped her hands and looked back. A slight smile appeared on her face, almost like a sneer, and she left.
She knew Nathan was trying to get closer to her for something. He must have an ulterior motive.
Nathan stood there and watched her leave with a dropped jaw. He realized he didn't even see her moves.
How did she do that?
He was shocked yet impressed at the same time. He realized Evelyn was not an ordinary woman. Maybe her elder sister, Flora, known as the "Punishment of God", was probably not exaggerated by the Mendez Family. Maybe she had what it took to be the "Punishment by God."
"Awesome! No wonder she dares to turn against the Mendez Family and can live on her own!" Nathan exclaimed.
After thinking about it, he reflected that getting closer to Evelyn may not be easy, but he couldn't just give up.
If he wanted to defeat the Mendez family, he had to deal with their ultimate weapon, Flora. Thus, it was necessary for him to get in touch with Evelyn. After all, they were sisters, and maybe Evelyn knew Flora's weaknesses.
I have nothing else to do today! So why don't I go tease Natasha!
He didn't like being ignored by Flora. He had to catch someone's attention to make himself feel better. Thus, he called Natasha.
"I was cold-shouldered by Evelyn! I am in a very bad mood! Put on your clothes and come to see me!"
Natasha sneered as she heard his words. "What do I have to do with it?"
"Ok, then. How about shutting down the Porter Group? Is that have anything to do with you?"
"You a*shole!" Natasha gritted her teeth and cursed.
