Chapter 2230

"Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to attend my father's 50th birthday!"

With everyone watching, Curtis walked up to the crowd and spoke, displaying a graceful demeanor that a noble heir

should have.

"Mr. Lake, you're too kind. We naturally need to congratulate Old Master on his 50th birthday!"

"That's right. The Lake family has contributed a lot to Ocean City's development over the years. We should all

congratulate him!"

"Hahaha, Old Master Lake is still as energetic as before. He doesn't look old at all! If you ask me, today isn't the

birthday of an old man but a young man!"

Everyone flattered him, humbling themselves as they spoke.

Hearing the compliments, Curtis smiled and said again, "My father's the star today. I won't steal his thunder!"

With that said, Curtis stepped back, and the head of the Lake family, Kennedy Lake, went up to the crowd.

"I'm glad you could be here to celebrate my 50th birthday.

"My home is your home today. Let's all enjoy ourselves!"

Kennedy smiled with a hint of hidden pride.

The Lake family was now powerful enough to ignore all of Ocean City's dignitaries.

Of course, that did not include Mr. Winters.

Standing at the peak of influence in Ocean City, the Lake family dared not state any bad opinions of him, no matter

how strong they became.

With a round of applause, Kennedy sat down at Mr. Winters' table and near to Mr. Winters.

"I wish Old Master Lake happiness and health!"

Mr. Winters said with a chuckle.

Kennedy looked flattered as he thanked him repeatedly." You're too kind, Mr. Winters!"

"Dad, shall we announce what our guests got you for your birthday now?"

Curtis leaned over to Kennedy, lowered his voice, and asked.

Kennedy nodded slightly, and Curtis got up and left.

Mr. Winters took a piece of emerald from his pocket and gave it to Kennedy. He said with a smile, "I didn't prepare

anything good as I came here in a hurry. Why don't I give you this emerald as a birthday gift, Old Master Lake?"

"T-This gift is too expensive!"

Kennedy said quickly, his expression stiff.

Anyone with influence in Ocean City knew Mr. Winters loved gemstones. Mr. Winters even used all his connections

to acquire an imperial emerald six years ago.

An imperial emerald was the most premium emerald. Even an imperial emerald the size of a bean could cost a

terrifyingly expensive price.

Not to mention the imperial emerald that Mr. Winters had taken out was about half the size of a palm.

If the emerald was put up for auction, it would not cost less than the Moon Lake Painting that Curtis bought that day.

However, Moon Lake Painting's price was increased by 200 million at the auction after Sean meddled.

"Haha, it's your 50th birthday. How can I give you something ordinary?"

Mr. Winters chuckled.

Kennedy immediately reached out to take the emerald and thanked him. "Thank you, Mr. Winters!"

"Curtis bought me a Moon Lake Painting at Victory Auction House's auction two days ago. I'll have it delivered to

your house later!"

Kennedy loved antiques and paintings, and you could see the appeal of Moon Lake Painting to him.

Now that Mr. Winters had given him his treasured imperial emerald, he naturally had to return the favor.
