The guardian's sword by Taking Cigarette -
Chapter 789
Chapter 789
"It's best if we can beat Sean. We've got nothing to lose if we fail anyway.
So why not?"
Jon took a puff from his cigar as his face beamed with satisfaction.
A cunning light glimmered in the depths of his eyes.
"Dad, I got it."
Quill nodded his head in understanding.
Jon and his son were depressed when the land development was brought up.
The formalities they had were once again stuck in these two days.
Jon was anxious, of course. He desperately found the connections he had built over the years for help.
However, they were vague in their response. They agreed to help, but their problems were not sorted out after all.
Therefore, a few days had passed, and they still had not completed the formalities.
"What's going on?
"Sean doesn't have that kind of power. Is it Reach For Will Group?
"Has Reach For Will Group found some strong backer?"
The more Jon thought about it, the more worried he became.
With the current state of things, he was not as confident as he was before.
He had thought that the Zimmer family was still the dominant force in River City even though Reach For Will Group was on the rise.
Reach For Will Group could not compete with the Zimmer family in terms of connections and experience.
However, as things progressed, he found that his plans were getting a little out of control.
"Dad, you told me to keep an eye on Reach For Will Group, and I've got people watching them.
"They have been quiet these days and aren't working on any business plans. It's probably not them."
Quill frowned. Someone must be after the Zimmer family right now.
However, they did not even know who they were up against.
There were three pieces of land that were auctioned off. The Zimmer family took two while Sean took
one.
Reach For Will Group had no chance, unless Sean gave them the land.
However, there was no reason forthat.
"Have you sent out everything I asked you to?"
Jon tapped on the table as he asked with a frown.
"Yes.
"And they've accepted them."
Quill nodded and reported to Jon truthfully.
Quill had secretly met with the government departments responsible for handling the formalities for the
Zimmer family and given them plenty of money.
They had accepted the money, but nothing was completed, making Jon confused.
"They won't accept anything if they don't want to help.
"Since they've accepted, they'll help us."
Jon touched his chin, thinking about what happened these days.
Knock-knock!
Just then, there was a soft knock on the office door.
Jon's female assistant walked in after getting his permission.
"Mr. Zimmer, Young Master Zimmer, our staff in charge of negotiating with the old residents have run
into a problem.
"The residents of the land won't accept our demolition compensation."
The female assistant immediately reported after walking in.
"What? They won't accept it?"
Jon frowned again.
Every procedure in land development was crucial.
Eventually, negotiating with the residents of the land was of utmost importance.
Stubborn residents gave developers the most problems, but every real estate development had these
people.
To keep the development going smoothly, the demolition compensation Jon offered was already more
generous than many places.
However, they still had a problem sealing the deal.
"Yes, they all rejected us and are unwilling to sign the contract."
The female assistant nodded, her tone helpless.
"Why did they reject?"
Jon asked with a frown.
"They argue that Golden Dash Residency is offering 10% more than we are for every square meter.
"So they won't accept it."
Jon's eyes widened slightly when the female assistant said that.
"What? 10% more than us?
"What's wrong with Golden Dash Residency? Are they stupid and rich?"
Jon was a little annoyed. Their price was already high, but the price there was 10% higher.
It was going to cost a lot more to compensate each household.
Was this not a blatant attempt to destroy the entire River City real estate industry?
"Look up the developer and see what they want."
Jon clenched his teeth slightly, his heart full of impatience.
"Mr. Zimmer, Golden Dash Residency is the land that Sean had won."
The female assistant paused for a moment before reporting truthfully.
"Well..."
Jon froze at that.
Sean quickly understood that Sean was trying to prank the Zimmer family! i
"Inflicting damage on the enemy while suffering a smaller but comparable level of damage himself. Is Sean out of his mind?"
The normally calm Jon could not help but lash out.
The piece of land Sean won was not far from the best land that the Zimmer family had won.
Sean now offered a higher price, and the Zimmer family naturally had to follow Sean's price.
Otherwise, the old residents here would not accept it.
