Chapter Thirteen

Chloe felt like she was having an out of body experience, as she watched, as the woman who had tried to drape herself around Zander stare at her. Suddenly the woman ran towards her, before she knew what was happening, Liam, Kris and Gav surrounded her, as the woman ran, then the unbelievable happened, right before Chloe’s eyes, The woman’s body snapped, and changed, the sound of breaking bones echoing around the field, and in her place was a large grey wolf, baring its teeth and snarling at Chloe. Frozen in shock Chloe looked at the beast as it launched towards her, to the side she could hear Nicki screaming in terror, then she felt the beast bite her leg. Chloe let out an ear shattering scream of pain, as the wolf clamped its jaws around her leg and began to shake it, Then as quick as a flash all hell broke loose. Beside her Kris and Liam both shifted, into wolves one grabbing the she wolf’s neck and pulling her away from Chloe, as she cried out in pain. Slumped on the ground, she saw Zander, running then leap into the air, and stood before her in a protective manor was a huge black wolf. B***d began to pool from her injured leg, when suddenly Ethan was beside her, placing his hand on her leg, Chloe began to feel a warmth radiate through her body, then as she watched she saw the wound appear on Ethan’s leg then slowly disappear. Chloe looked down, the pain from the bite had disappeared, and she blinked twice, the wound was gone, literally healed before her eyes, the only indication it had been there was the fresh tear in her denims and the b***d on the floor around her. Looking up she saw the big black wolf that had been her headmaster, snap the neck of the she wolf that had attacked her, and with a whimper it fell to the floor, changing back to the woman, who lay naked on the ground, clearly dead.

Chloe looked to the right and saw Nicki sobbing as Josh held her close to him, soothing her, telling her she was okay. As Chloe turned again to look at the c*****e, she was engulfed by the smell of musk and sandalwood, a pair of big strong muscular and naked arms held her to the rock hard naked chest of her headmaster. Tilting her head up at him and blinking she whispered softly.

“Is this another one of my weird dreams?”

“No, Chloe, but we need to talk” Zander whispered softly in her ear.

“Erm, can you put some clothes on first” Chloe blushed, a peace and feeling of being safe surrounding her despite seeing the man who was holding her turn into a massive black wolf, then kill another wolf before her eyes.

Zander let out a small chuckle, and placed a soft k**s on her forehead, then nodded.

“Josh, take Nicki to the pack house, I will bring Chloe with me, go to my room” he ordered

Josh nodded then scooped a distraught Nicola up into his arms and carried her like a child towards the packhouse.

Turning to where Alpha Aitchison was kneeling over the body of his daughter, Zander bellowed.

“You were warned that if your daughter attacked my mate, it would be an act of war between our packs, you have forty eight hours to remove her body, and your pack from my lands, and have your burial. Then we shall meet to settle this. I Alpha Zander Colton of the Crescent Moon pack challenge you Alpha Jack Aitchison, a fight to the death, the winner takes over the lands of the other.” Zander growled out.

“No, please Alpha, you have killed her, let that be enough, I beg of you! I have no quarrel with you, my daughter was acting out of her own selfish ambition, there is no need to fight with me, I am no threat to you” Alpha Jack cowered, fear evident in his body, he knew he was no match for Zander.

“No wonder your pack is weak and needs my help, you are pathetic, I will see you in forty eight hours, if you fail to show, I will take over your pack, as you have forfeited the right to be their Alpha” Zander announced so everyone could hear his declaration.

Scooping Chloe up into his arms, much the same as Josh had done with Nicki, Zander strode towards the pack house, as he passed Ethan, he looked at the young wolf and smiled.

“It seems you are a healer; we will see you in the New Moon House tomorrow and thank you Ethan for saving my mate.”

Zander climbed the stairs to the top floor, and walked into his bedroom, placing Chloe onto the bed. Nicki lay in Joshua’s arms, still silently sobbing.

“Bro, put some cloths on!” Josh growled, holding Nicki’s head into his chest so that she could not see the naked Zander.

Zander pulled on a pair of black jogging bottoms then went to Chloe and picked her up sitting her on his lap as he examined her leg.

“So, you are big fluffy dog in your spare time then” Chloe said using humour to defuse the tension in the room.

“A-hem, A wolf, I am not a mere dog” Zander said with mock annoyance then chuckled at Chloe.

“D..d..do you turn into an animal as well?” Nicola asked Josh between sobs.

“I would never ever hurt you Nicki, you are my mate, the other half of me, I am totally in love with you, and part of my duties as your fated mate is to protect you with all that I am” Josh sighed out, hoping the revelation would not cause her to run away, or reject him.

“C..can I see?” Nicki shyly asked

“What, my wolf?” Josh asked both equally shocked and pleased that Nicki wanted to meet his Wolf.

“Yes, I want to see if I am scared of you” Nicki said sitting up straighter.

Josh looked over to Zander, who nodded his head, then held Chloe closer to him.

“He will not hurt you either” Zander whispered his reassurance.

“No Chloe, you are the Luna of our pack, and Nicki will be a future Luna, I would never hurt you either.” Josh offered a soft smile to Chloe.

“I know, don’t ask me how, because I have no clue, but I do, I just know” Chloe shrugged, then reached out and took hold of Nicki’s hand.

Josh nodded, then looked at his mate once more.

“Are you sure Nicki?” he asked

“Yes, I need to see it for myself” Nicola replied.

Chloe and Nicola watched on as Joshua stood back, then shifted before them, it was over in a flash, and Jerry his wolf stood before Nicola, he slowly walked over his ears pricked, as he bent his head under her arm and gave her a soft nudge. Instinctively Nicki began to stroke his head, then tickle behind his ear, as Jerry lolloped his tongue out and panted, his tail wagging back and forth.

“I am not frightened, I should be terrified, but I am really not” Nicola smiled, as she continued to stroke and pet Jerry.

“That is because he is your mate, even as a human you can feel the bond” Zander told her whilst drawing small moon shapes on Chloe’s leg, sending sparks through her body that hit her straight in her core. Zander sniffed the air, then smiled at his mate’s arousal.

Jerry rolled over onto his back, his paws bent in the air, as Nicki giggled.

“You want a tummy rub Josh?” she asked laughing.

“Jerry, his wolf’s name is Jerry” Zander grinned down, happy for his brother that his human mate would not reject him.

“Sorry Jerry, I always wanted a pet” Nicki smiled down.

Zander bellowed with laughter, as Jerry’s tail went between his leg and his ears back, clearly not happy at being referred to as his mates pet.

“Oh, I am sorry Jerry, did that offend you, here let me rub your tummy again to make up for it” Nicki giggled, then began to rub the giant wolfs tummy.

“Caesar is getting jealous of those tummy rubs” Zander laughed.

“What your wolf talks to you or is it just a feeling?” Chloe asked, desperate to understand what was happening with her.

“Both, but yeah they talk to you, and can be quiet annoying” Zander chuckled.

“So, I wasn’t going crazy when I saw Uptight Ursula’s face change the day I chucked my breakfast over her?” Chloe mused to herself.

Scooping Chloe up into his arms, much the same as Josh had done with Nicki, Zander strode towards the pack house, as he passed Ethan, he looked at the young wolf and smiled.

“No, she nearly shifted in anger” Zander sighed out.

“And I am not just a horny hormonal teenager when I react …. well you know, when you are around?” She asked

“No, that is the mate bond, along with the sparks you feel when I touch you” Zander told her

“And the emotional rollercoaster of being really happy or disappointed, that is all connected to this, and my tummy doing somersaults whenever I smell you?” Chloe asked, but she knew the answer before Zander even nodded his head as confirmation.

Turning his attention to his other student and his brother’s mate, he smiled softly at Nicky who was still stroking Jerry.

“So, are you okay Nicki?” Zander asked

“Yeah, I am okay” She smiled still happily tickling Jerry.

“Okay, well Jerry, I need you to let Josh have control” Zander said to the wolf.

Jerry nudged against Nicki, wagging his tail once more then disappeared behind the sofa, when Josh shouted.

“I forgot to take my clothes off and just shifted, can you get me a pair of joggers bro” Josh asked, as Nicki giggled slightly.

Zander walked over to his closet and threw a pair of grey joggers over to Josh, then returned to his mate and held her to him once more.

“Right well, Now, that the whole pack know you are my mate, I need to keep you safe, and for tonight with everything going on, going back to the school is not safe for either of you. So you will both stay here, in this room together. Josh will be in the room next door, and I will be in my office across the hall” Zander began, wanting both girls safe.

“Now, would you mind going with Josh for an hour or so Nicki, I really need to talk to Chloe” Zander asked.

“Yeah, okay, will you be okay Chloe?” Nicki asked

“I am okay, I feel no fear at all,” Chloe shrugged

“Totally bad a*s” Nicki laughed, then took hold of Joshua’s hand as he led her out of Zanders room, to show her his own apartment in the pack house.

Taking a seat next to Chloe on his super king size bed Zander could not help but have his hands on her once more, the pull towards her even stronger now she knew what he was. He reached out and took her hand interwind his fingers with hers, his thumb gently stroking her knuckles.

“Chloe, I am going to ask you some questions, they may seem strange, but it is important you answer me honestly” Zander gently told her.

Nodding her head in agreement, Chloe then looked into the amber eyes of her mate.

“Only if you promise to answer mine honestly” she said

With a low chuckle Zander nodded his head in agreement.

“Did you know you are from a werewolf family?” Zander asked,

“Not a clue, I don’t think my parents are wolves, else they would have prepared me for this, surly!” Chloe sighed out.

“Have you had contact with your wolf?” Zander asked

Chloe shook her head, but then looked up at Zander.

“No, but since seeing you for the first time, weird things started happening, like vivid dreams, that you were coming for me, then this week I kept dreaming of a Wolf telling me to trust you, you were our mate.” Chloe said

“That is your wolf, for some reason she has laid dormant” Zander sighed

“Zander, in the story Josh told, he said the Royal wolves were purple… the wolf that comes in my dreams, she is completely purple with a black tip on her tail” Chloe answered.

“How is that even possible?” Zander looked at Chloe in wonder

“What?” Chloe asked

“You are a pure royal wolf, your parents are royal wolves, this is not down to some recessive wolf gene, you were born from royal wolves, and s**t Chloe, if I am correct, you are in danger”

“If you are correct Zander, who the f**k are my parents?”
