The Headmaster Alpha’s Mate Chapter 64

Zander stood at the bottom of the large staircase, the silver buttons on his traditional black barathea jacket shone under the lights, his black bow tie pinching at his neck. His kilt was made from the new tartan he had registered for his family, a purple, lilac and black large check with delicate silver thread woven down the edges of the squares. His sporran sat comfortably, and the silks on his socks were again fashioned in the newly commissioned family tartan. Josh stood next to him. His kilt was crafted in the traditional tartan for the area where the Silverback pack resided; cream and tan with small black squares created the tartan. After what felt like forever, the door to the Alpha guest suit finally opened.

Zander stood, his breath taken away by the vision of beauty that was smiling and descending the stairs. His heart pounded in his chest, and he was grateful his sporran covered the necessary area as his kilt was now a tent. Chloe was always beautiful to him, but right at this moment her beauty was far beyond any words he could use to describe her.

“Wow, your in a kilt” Chloe breathed to him.

Zander chuckled, and nodded.

“Princess, you look so stunning, there are not enough words in the world to describe how beautiful you are.” Zander said, his eyes black with l**t as he gazed at her, feeling like the luckiest man alive.

Chloe let out a little giggle, then her eyes wandered up and down Zander as she checked him out.

“I never thought I would get turned on by a man in a kilt, but seriously, this is the best thing I have ever seen you in, you are so hot..” Chloe whispered in his ear.

“But the most important question I have to ask,” Chloe continued with a mischievous grin.

“Is it true?” She asked.

Zander chuckled, he knew the question his mate was wanting to know.

“A true Scot never wears anything under his kilt, and once this is over with, I will be only too happy to prove that to you.” Zander g*****d, his voice husky.

“Shall we?” Zander asked, extending his arm so that Chloe could link hers through it.

“Nicki, you are so beautiful.” Josh smiled at his mate.

Nicki blushed slightly, making Josh chuckle. For everything they meant to each other, no matter how many times he made love to his mate, she still had the innocent blush that set his heart aflame.

“You look handsome.” Nicki returned the compliment. Then she walked with him, again linking her arm through his.

Chloe smiled with pride as she saw the whole of the Crescent Moon and Silverback pack all gathered and mingling together. The stage was set up on the far edge of the training field. It was covered with small lights, she through her head back and laughed as she saw the fairy lights from their room had been used at the front of the stage.

“Really?” she asked, giggling.

“Yeah, I thought we should recommission them” Zander laughed.

The new purple tartan that Zander had registered hung in swags. The lights weaved through them four silver coloured chairs sat at on the stage, a table in the middle with two wooden chalices in the centre.

Robin and Lacey stood at the edge of the steps leading to the stage, a warm smile on each of their faces.

Lacey walked over to Chloe and bent to whisper in her ear.

“When the ceremony is finished, we will go on a pack run. Around the back is a small tent area for you to change and shift. Sheba will know what to do instinctively. If you get confused, mind link me or Zander during the ceremony, we are here to help. Also, Robin and I will not shift, we are going to keep an eye around the pack members, see if we replace anyone behaving strangely or trying to do anything they shouldn’t after the announcement. But most importantly, Chloe, enjoy this.” Lacey smiled.

Chloe nodded her thanks, as nervousness started to cramp inside her stomach. Taking a breath, she nodded to Zander that she was ready, and they walked up onto the stage.

A hush descended across the field as the packs watched their Alpha’s and Luna’s walk onto the stage. Zander took a step forward.

“Crescent Moon and Silverback packs, today we inaugurate your Luna’s. Please be seated for the ceremony.”

The pack members sat on the chairs, and those that could not replace a seat sat on the ground.

Zander smiled at Chloe, then turned towards her.

“Chloe Handcock, do you solemnly and with humility want to work tirelessly and faithfully as Luna to the Crescent Moon Pack. To always put their needs before your own. To stand beside your Alpha, to protect and serve those who you will lead with kindness and compassion?”

“I do” Chloe responded.

“Do You Chloe accept the position of Luna, to treat each member of the pack as family. To rule with love.”

“I do.” Chloe smiled.

“Cresecent Moon, do you accept Chloe Handcock as your Luna, swear to follow her protect her and serve her?” Zander shouted to the crowd.

“We Do” came the loud united response.

Taking one of the wooden chalices, Zander took a drink, then passed it to Chloe, who looked him in the eyes, knowing that she was committing her life not just to the pack, but to everyone who would accept her and Zander as their king and queen, and took a sip of the sacred pack wine.

“I now declare Chloe Handcock is the rightful and only Luna of the Crescent moon, and will now be referred to as Luna Chloe Colton.” Zander grinned as the pack erupted in applause.

Suddenly Chloe felt a barrier break in her mind, and it was like a thousand voices all at once appeared in her head as the pack link opened fully. Each one welcomed her and swore their loyalty. Blinking at the intensity of the moment, Chloe steadied herself. She knew this bit was coming but never thought it would be so loud, it nearly knocked her off her feet.

Zander and Chloe took a step back for Josh and Nicki to step forward, and they began the whole process again for the Silverback pack with Nicki.

Finally, the ceremonial part was finished, and once again Zander stepped forwards, taking hold of Chloe’s hand. Josh and Nicki stood beside them, then Robin and Lacey joined the stage. They all held hands in a show of unity.

“Crescent Moon and Silverback packs, we have a further announcement,” Zander shouted.

“Your Luna, Chloe Colton, is a Royal Wolf. She is the secret daughter of the late King Asher and Queen Rebecca. You all know what that could mean for each of us. I ask that you swear your allegiance to us not only as your Alpha and Luna, but as your King and Queen.”

A stunned silence descended, until a voice from the back of the field shouted.

“All Hail, King Zander and Queen Chloe.” And a thunderous applause erupted across the grounds.

Zander led Chloe off the stage as she quickly stripped out of her dress in the tent, then shifted.

Sheba walked out proudly, as Caesar nuzzled up to her, and they headed onto the field.

Sheba threw her head up and howled, each wolf there instantly submitted to her power, even Josh bared his neck. The only one who did not was Zander. The pack then began to howl in response, as Sheba and Caesar walked together, Josh beside them with Nicki sitting on his back and began to run.

Lacey watched for any sign of someone who would betray them. There was shock amongst the pack members, but most were in awe of what was happening, that they were now a royal pack.

Only when every pack member shifted, did she shift with Robin and joined the run, keeping to the rear so that they could see if anyone broke off.

After the run, Chloe got back into her dress, as each of the pack members came to pay their respects. Stood in line was Ethan with his parents, Ellie and her parents, along with Delphine, Gav, Liam and Kris. They all came over with broad smiles and offered their support.

The line grew, as more pack members stood waiting to pay their respects and personally pledge their loyalty to Chloe.

Dr Keto arrived, a smile on his face.

“You will be an amazing Luna and Queen.” He complimented, before moving to the side.

Daniel Kyle arrived with a smile on his face.

“I always knew you were special Queen Chloe. I have a gift for you. I know, with everything, you may not attend school as much as before. However, I want to encourage you to keep reading, so I have brought you some books I think you will enjoy.” He grinned, passing Chloe four books.

“Thank you so much Daniel, you helped me so much, you are the one teacher who believed in me.” Chloe grinned.

Daniel smiled and placed a soft k**s on Chloe’s cheek, before moving out of the line.

Hannah stood taking in everything she could, then watched.

“Traitor” her wolf shouted inside her.

Walking over to the man she had identified, she tilted her head to one side. Then she whispered softly to him.

“So you betray your queen with a k**s.”

Daniel Kyle gulped, then quickly made his way to his mate. Taking her hand he dragged her away, as Chloe watched a tear falling down her cheek as she now recognised the figure from her dreams, her teacher, the one person she never thought it would be.
