It was a welcome sight to see Alpha Liam from the Northumberland pack, his Luna Katie smiled warmly at Chloe, bowing her head slightly, in respect.

“Hi Luna Katie, I am Chloe.” Chloe reached out her hand, understanding that some of the pack members who knew about her royal heritage might feel a little uneasy when first meeting her.

“Your highness, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I met your mother once, and you are her image.” Luna Katie smiled.

“Please, I am just Chloe to our friends.” Chloe smiled back at her, admiring her long blonde hair that was covered in cork screw curls.

“Chloe, so where do you want us?” Luna Katie asked.

“Well, you are staying here at crescent moon, in the guest suites on the alpha floor, your warriors can camp with ours in the barracks and those that are competing can stay in the small village we have set up for them.” Chloe informed her.

“Let me introduce you to Luna Nicki of the Silverback Pack, and Luna Lacey of the newly created Silvercrescent pack. She will be formally inaugurated with her mate, Alpha Robin, tonight.

“Nice to meet you Luna Katie.” Nicki smiled as Lacey greeted Luna Katie with a hug.

“Great to see you again Katie”, Lacey smiled warmly, then turned to Chloe and Nicki.

“Katie and I shared a flat together in Edinburgh when we attended Queen Margaret University back when flares were the fashion the first time round.” Lacey laughed.

“Yes, there were some fun times before we found our mates.” Katie laughed lightheartedly.

Robin growled slightly, placing his arms around Lacey’s waist.

“Dont remind me.” he grumbled, making both Lacey and Katie laugh and shake their heads.

“This is our Beta Samuel.” Alpha Liam introduced his right-hand wolf to the party.

Two omegas stood patiently waiting to show the Northumberland pack Alphas to their rooms, and Chloe smiled warmly at them,

“This is Amy, she is one of our omega’s, she is a lovely girl and is doing great things at school.” Chloe introduced a blushing Amy to Katie.

Katie smiled then proceeded to chat with her for a little while before she led them upstairs to show them the rooms.

Chloe returned to Zander, and smiled.

“Katie seems lovely” Chloe commented.

“She is a great friend of Lacey’s. Do we have buses set up for the pack members who are staying at Silverback?” Zander asked Josh.

“Yes, and all the rooms are ready and waiting, the one for Ulswater is made up exactly as you wanted Chloe.” Josh grinned at his sister-in-law.

Zander gave his princess a quizzical look as she grinned mischievously at him.

“What can I say, it would be unfair to move the omegas from their new extension after years in the basement, and we have a limited amount of space, and those rooms down there are a lot better than what they once were, and probably a whole lot better than the rooms that fuckwit Alpha Ken keeps his omegas in.”Chloe gave a smug smile.

Zander laughed, and wrapped his arm around her waist.

“Seriously, you would make a brilliant bond villain.” Zander laughed, placing a k**s on the side of her head.

“Yes, well, our friends can call me Chloe, those bastards will call me queen b***h by the end of this.” Chloe shrugged.

Jackson approached them and bowed to his Alpha and Luna.

“Alpha, there was a call, a last minute addition. Alpha’s Hamish and Douglas, along with Beta Lewis, are coming to the games.” Jackson informed them.

Chloe looked at Zander as if to ask “Who?” and Zander thanked Jackson, then looked at Josh and Robin.

“They are the Alpha’s from the Ronsey pack”, Zander stated.

“They never come to anything because they like to remain neutral in everything.” Josh furrowed his brows.

“That could work for or against us.” Robin sighed, then looked at Lacey.

“I want them with our supporters, so we need to replace them somewhere here.” Chloe thought aloud.

“There is my mum’s cottage, she is always at the hospital anyway,” Nicki suggested.

“Actually, Zander and I will stay at the cottage, give them our rooms. Make them our honored guests, so to speak. Let’s see if we can change their minds with kindness.” Chloe smiled.

Zander grinned down at her, shaking his head slightly but his chest puffed with pride.

“Yes, let them stay in our rooms, Chloe, we need to pack up everything that is important,” Zander said, giving her a knowing look.

“We need your father’s journal, and the route to the attic blocked off and locked.” Zander linked to her and Chloe gave a small nod to let him know when was on it.

“I will get our things. Could you ask Amy to come help me clear some space in the closet for them.” Chloe smiled before turning to walk up to the room..

“Actually Chloe, can I help? I know Mam needs me, but I am going crazy just sitting in the hospital. Cheryl is looking after Tom.” Ellie’s voice rang out from behind her.

“Deal.” Chloe smiled, happy to see Ellie, and understanding she needed a break from all the drama of her mother and father, it would do her some good.

As the pair of them packed up some clothes to take to Cheryl’s cottage, Chloe took the opportunity to talk to Ellie.

“How is it going with your Mum, Ellie?” Chloe asked, although they got reports twice a day from Andrew and Cheryl, she wanted to check on how Ellie thought her mother was, and how she was coping with it all.

“Much the same, although this afternoon, Dr Keto reduced her medication, and rather than just lie looking vacant, she did speak with Cheryl for a couple of minutes, which apparently is good news.” Ellie smiled.

“Yes it is.” Chloe reassured her young friend.

“How are you doing though, Ellie?” Chloe asked.

“Angry, really angry, at first I felt torn, not really wanting my father to face justice. Now I want to take the silver knife and cut his heart out myself. Does that sound horrible?” Ellie asked, blinking up at Chloe.

“No, it sounds normal, you will go through many emotions, and none of them will be horrible, all normal. However, you must try to let your anger go so that it doesn’t end up eating you up inside, like your father did.” Chloe advised.

Ellie nodded, as tears began to prick at her eyes once more.

“The worst part of all of this is Tom, he thinks Dad is gone because his wolf injured him, plus he has shifted really early, because of the trauma and that could have negative repercussions for him.”Ellie sighed, concern filling her for her brother.

“Ellie, I know you are worried, but remember, you are not alone in this, you have me and Nicki and let’s not forget Ethan to help you and Tom through all of this.

“I am cooling things off with Ethan. One thing I have learnt is, I am waiting for my mate. I will not do to him what Mam did to Dad. I don’t blame her, don’t get me wrong, and Dad should never have done so much against the Alpha for all these years. But I will not make the same mistake, and if Ethan is my mate, like we both think he is, he will wait for me anyway, and if not, then I have definitely done the right thing. ” Ellie shrugged.

“You are very wise. Ellie, I am proud of you.” Chloe smiled, happy Ellie knew her own mind.

Finished with the packing, and her father’s journal tucked safely away, Chloe and Ellie made their way to Cheryl’s cottage.Nicki was there sorting out some things for her mother, and greeted her warmly.

“Hey, pop your stuff into Mam’s bedroom, I am taking all of her things to the hospital.” Nicki instructed them,

“Oh, and some of the packs that are staying in my pack have arrived. We have bundled them onto the buses. Josh and I will go with them shortly.” Nicki informed Chloe.

“Oh, great, but please let me come with you. I want to personally show fuckwit Ken his accommodation.” Chloe grinned smugly.

“I can take Cheryl’s things to the hospital now if you like Nicki, I am heading back over to see Mum anyway.” Ellie offered.

“That would be helpful, thank you Ellie.” Nicki smiled, passing the bags to her, as she waved her goodbyes and set off to visit her mother.

“So, Question Have you noticed your mum and Andrew seem to be. How should I put this….” Chloe’s voice trailed off.

“Like they want to bump uglies, yes. Yes,I have, and I told you he went all weird when Josh went to give her a good bye hug, but when I mention it she blushes, I just hope he is not using her.” Nicki sighed.

“Zander has a theory that he is her second chance mate,” Chloe said.

“Well, as long as he makes her happy, and he seems like a really nice man”, Nicki smiled.

“There you are Little Froggy, we have been waiting for you.” Josh ran towards Nicki as if he had not seen her for a year, not just an hour.

“Actually, I am coming as well to show the Alphas their accommodation.” Chloe winked.

“I gathered you wouldn’t want to miss the fireworks, and Zander said he is not letting you go alone, so we are having a road trip, but I believe you are on the motorbike.

“Get in!” Chloe fist pumped the air, then ran over to her mate with a squeal of delight as he stood grinning at her, holding the motorbike leather’s in his hand.

“Go put them on, we will follow the bus,” Zander passed her the leathers and helmet.

The ride to Silverback Pack was exhilarating, and just what Chloe needed to help relieve some of the stress, it had not taken them long before they overtook the two busses that contained the Alpha’s Luna’s Betas and Warriors from the Ulswater, Tynedale, Jorvick, Berrick and Skye packs.They arrived half an hour before the others, giving both Zander and Chloe time to double check everything.

Gavin stood waiting for them.

“Alpha Zander.” he nodded.

“Beta Gavin, is everything prepared?” Zander asked.

“Yes, as per Luna Nicki’s instructions, we have also doubled the patrols around the borders and I have more of our guys staying in the pack house, just to keep an eye on things.” Gav informed Zander.

“Yes good thinking, it is safest to keep all our enemies in one place for now, to avoid them trying to spy on those of us who are allies.Do you have someone who can listen in to their conversations?” Zander asked.

“Yes, and we have bugged all the rooms. The feed will go straight to Alpha Joshua’s laptop which he has hidden in his and Luna’s bedroom, so that if anyone goes into the office nothing will look amiss.” Gavin said proudly.

“Good work.” Zander complimented the young beta, he was definitely the right man for the job.

The sound of crunching gravel announced the arrival of the two 36 seater busses that contained the other pack members. Chloe hopped from foot to foot excited to see Alpha Ken’s face when he realised she had put him in the basement.

“Hold it inside Chloe”, Zander chuckled at her childish excitement.

Chloe nodded and stood still with her back straight waiting to meet the packs.

As the Alpha’s got off the bus, Chloe walked forward, heading straight for the Ulswater Pack members.

“Alpha Ken, Luna Anne. Welcome, I am sorry I was predisposed when you arrived. I am Luna Chloe.” Chloe smiled and extended her hand. Alpha Ken froze slightly, the rumours must be true. She was the spitting double of Queen Rebeca. This was not good at all.

“Allow me to show you to your quarters for your stay. As you are aware, we have a lot of people to manage, so they may not be quite what you are used to, but they are functional and clean.” Chloe grinned, as she led them towards the stairs to the old basement.

As Alpha Ken, Luna Anne and Beta Bill saw the accommodation, their faces contorted with anger.

“What is the meaning of this?” he growled, glaring at Chloe. Zander moved to her side in a protective manor.

“This is where you will be staying,” Chloe said innocently.

“This is not fit for a dog!” Luna Anne complained.

“Yet it is better accommodation than you provide for your omegas, so guess what, suck it up buttercup.” Chloe smiled.

“I WILL NOT STAY HERE!” Luna Anne shouted.

Chloe turned on her heel, and glared at the Alpha and his Luna, then shouted her royal voice, strong and perfectly pitched, just as she had been practicing for the last few days.

“OH BUT YOU WILL, AND YOU WILL NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT IT!she said.

Instantly, all the wolves other than Zander whimpered and bared their necks.”

“So it is true this girl is of royal b***d,” Alpha Ken growled out.

“Yes, and you can call me your highness.” Chloe answered, then taking Zander by the hand she left their guests to unpack.
