The Innocent Wife of Scheming President
Chapter 16: You Would Be Sorry for This

The night in December was full of coldness. The wind covered up eyesand the neon lights illuminate the city while the stars above couldnt beseen. People were suppressed and uncomfortable because of suchheavy darkness.

Olive worn tightly a down-filled coat, keeping rubbing hands and earsand moving back and forth. She wanted to warm herself up.

She expected to replace somewhere to get warm. But there seemed nosuch place in the prosperous city that ordinary people like she couldafford. Once she went far, she worried to miss that guy.

It had been more than two hours when Bruce came out with men andwomen who apparently drank because two or three of them walkedunsteadily.

Olive abruptly stood before him and stopped him

Bruce slightly opened his eyes, said confusedly, “Miss Steele, why areyou here?”

Olive went straightly to the topic without hesitation, “Mr. Lynn, sorry todisturb you, but I want to talk with you privately.”

Hearing this, several men who stood beside smiled tacitly, looking atOlive with disdain. The woman who carried Bruce glowered as if shemet a rival in love. Her voice was like nails scratching the glass.

“Bruce, who is she?”

Finally, Olive saw that heroine of the affair who was younger thaneighteen. She looked as beautiful as Chloe. Besides, she had an extrasense of youth.

Probably men preferred young girls. The wives they once loved nowbecame old and unattractive.

The girl who held Bruce's arm leaned so close against him, whichseemed to be unspeakable intimacy as well as ambiguity. She seemedto declare the dominion before Olive.

Olive was dumbfounding. How could a mistress walk tall? What shouldthose decent wives do?

Those men were clever to plan to turn away. But Bruce said, “No need, Idon't know much about Miss Steele, please directly talk with me here.”Olive was silent for a while, “Are you sure?”

“Just say it.” Bruce lightly said with some disdain.

Actually, he always looked down upon poor friends of Chloe.

Hence, Olive needn't care about his feelings. She stood straightlybefore him. Although her eyes were angry, she looked neitheroverbearing nor servile as if she could see through Bruce.

“I know that as an outsider, I have no right to judge things between youcouple. It is just that you seem to forget your promise and not cherishyour marriage. Indeed, you are young and competent, rich andgenerous, there are plenty of women actively pleasing you. In that caseyou didn’t care about the marriage, you shouldn't have married Chloe. You speak out the divorce so easily that you hurt the woman who lovesyou deeply without responsibility. I thought you are different fromother men. But you let me down. Chloe gets more disappointed. Youcan divorce with her, you can also let your mother insult her and chaseher away. I will persuade her to live with me, I won't make herhomeless, but....."

Olive paused a second with the anger shooting through her chest. Butshe tried to calm down and be reasonable, gradually holding hertrembling hands so tightly in the cold wind.

She was dying to punch his face and it was not enough for revenge topunch him black and blue.

“But there won't be a woman who love you purely. Perhaps, you getused to affairs and disdain true love early. Maybe you regard it ashypocrisy and think that Chloe pursues the rich life in the name of love.If so, I have nothing to say. Due to the way you trample her heart, youwon't gain another heart that is sincerer than hers. You don't deserveher at all. It will be your lifetime loss to lose her. Goodbye.”
