The Innocent Wife of Scheming President -
Chapter 29: A Coincident Meeting
"Don't forget to treat me for a meal.” Alan reminded her behind her.Olive turned around and walked back a few steps closer to him. "Mr.Hoyle, it is said that you and your fiancee Miss Meyer, will soon getmarried. If someone said accidentally that you have an ambiguity withthe female clerk, you are not afraid of her sadness, but I am afraid shewill cut me with a knife.”
She stared at him without fear, half laughing. Her heart ached badly, but she still wore a light and even slightly ironic look on the surface.
It was she who had been unable to let go.
Alan gave her a slanting eyebrow. “I helped you. Shouldn't I ask you totreat me to a dinner?"
That reason was so magnificent and reasonable, but there was no sucha person to ask for thanks. His face was really so thick unlike ordinarypeople.
Why hadn't she noticed it before?
Just about to speak, the voice of the Chloe suddenly came, a littlejokingly, "Olive, who is this handsome man? Do not you introducehim?"
Chloe smiled and could not hide the ambiguous light in her eyes. Shejust looked at Alan curiously and quickly made marks on hisappearance. He was really good-looking. She thought Lynn and Ivywere handsome enough. Unexpectedly, there was even better lookingmen standing there. Even if he was still motionless, he was a brightscene. It was hard not to get noticed. What's more, he drove a Maserati. When Olive's eyes fell on Annie who was held by Chloe, her facechanged slightly, and she felt not good in her heart.
Annie was not afraid of strangers. She went to Alan and looked up."Uncle, you look really good.”
Even the child was bewildered by the evil face.
Although her daughter prefers to herself in appearance, Olive was stillafraid that he maybe replace something. Sweating in her hands, she darednot act rashly.
"Annie..." He was the daddy you missed. But please forgive Mommy. Icouldn't tell you yet.
Annie turned around and pulled at the corner of her dress. "Olive, is thisyour friend?"
The Chloe also looked inquiringly.
Olive suppressed her uneasiness and tried to calm herself. "He payssalary to me."
Alan frowned slightly. The child who was several years old called theadult's name? That was the first time he heard about it. Whose childwas her? Her?
He looking carefully, the girl's eyebrows and eyes seemed to besomewhat similar to hers. Just he trying to confirm it, the little fellowturned her head at the woman next to her. "Mammy Chloe, what's thepaying salary to Olive?"
"It's the boss." The Chloe quietly looked down at Olive.
Olive pretended that she didn't see. At this moment, she slightlyloosened. It was better to let him misunderstand.
And Alan, his heart that fell inexplicably. The child was not hers. If shewas married, he would not like to see this. He would not like to see herlaughing in the arms of another man, or the harmony of her family ofthree.
He, involuntarily treated her as that girl, but was it really her?
The little child came up to him again, graciously hooked his finger andshook it twice. "Uncle, can I ask you something?"
Alan didn't like children very much. He thought children were noisywithout end. But the lovely girl in front of him was clearly just a strangechild he met for the first time, but his heart was somehow soft. Hesquatted down and said, "What's the matter?”
"Can you stop Olive from working overtime all night and going homelate? Grandpa said that everything the boss allowed would be all right.”Annie said naively.
Alan smiled softly. "You tell my uncle what your name is and how oldyou are. I will promise you."
"Oh, I'm Annie, a little beauty. I'm four years old. Children and teachersall know me in the kindergarten. They all praise me for being beautiful, but I still think you are the best-looking.”
Chloe turned a white eye. It was a real apple polisher. She praisedherself and coaxed adults.
Alan couldn't help smiling. It was common to have a woman infatuatedwith his look, but it was the first time that a child praised it. It was saidthat children said what they liked. Her vivid words were much betterthan those delicate voices and whimpers.
"Tell uncle why you give Olive..."
When he asked, Olive looked pale with fear, and quickly pulled herdaughter, "Annie, you can't pester uncle. It is impolite.”
Alan raised his head, and his doubtful eyes swept across her face.
Olive was hoping that he would leave at once and she put Annie in herarms. Then she said, "Mr. Hoyle, thank you. I've already arrived. I'll inviteyou to dinner when I have time."
"You said it. Don't default." Alan was thoughtful.
"Am I that kind of person?”
Alan suddenly leaned to her ear. "Even if you were that kind of person, you can't escape it."
Olive stepped back a little and said with a fake smile, "yes, you are theboss. Of course, you have the final say.”
"If you're not well, don't come to work tomorrow. I'll give you a dayoff.” Alan said generously again.
Olive thought, if employees met such a boss, it was lucky, but she didn'tknow how long she could enjoy it.
