As I was sitting in first period I still couldn’t believe that the guys actually wore the dresses today along with the pretty thongs I picked out and that they actually told that big headed cheerleader off. I may talk all big and bad but I’m still really insecure about what I even have to offer other than my status as a royal. I have no training in fighting other than some random classes but we couldn’t take the risk of someone replaceing out who I was. Blue and I have honed our skills as a predator which is great but all these other she wolves have had training daily or a couple times a week at least. I know the goddess wouldn’t pair us if she didn’t think we were a good fit but it’s still nerve-racking being made it to the two most popular guys in school plus Asher was probably just as popular. It really makes me feel good that they are trying so hard to win me over but what if they decide I need to do the same? ‘What if I couldn’t do the same? What if they see that I am not as great as I should be?” Blue shook her head and whined before nuzzling into me. Ryder you are amazing and you are worth a hundred mates. You are strong, loyal, compassionate, and more. Please believe me when I say these guys are lucky to have you in their lives.” I felt her love and took a minute to embrace it to relax my nerves.

“Ryder…RYDER…” My teacher’s voice was like nails on a chalkboard which is what caught my attention. Of course she had to call on me when I was doing my best to ignore her while dealing with my insecurity’s.

“Sorry Mrs. Sherman. What did you need?” I gripped the table too hard and heard a small c***k before letting go. Hopefully no one will notice till the end of the day and not know who to blame it on.

“What I need, Ryder, is for you to pay attention. I asked if anyone knew the answer to the question on the board. Do you know it?” She was definitely a bit upset but it isn’t like I am the only one who ignores her.

“Oh, well I don’t know it. Thanks for asking.” I gave her a sad smile and went to put my stuff together since the bell was about to ring.

“Well how about you come up to the board and we can work out the problem together?” Her lips were pinched like she was holding back on telling me off and her whole body was tense.

“Listen, I am going to be completely honest with you. I am stressed out to a point of maybe needing a happy pill or a padded room so I think I am going to sit in this seat until the bell rings and than head out to my next class so that my day can continue.” My whole classes staring at me probably scared for my life but at this point I was over it. I only have a few months left before graduation but I was a straight A student.

“Well I think a visit to the principals office will have destress you. How about that?” She went to her desk and got out her notebook to write me up. She had a smug look on her face like this is where she wanted this to go. Her and I have never gotten along since I hate math with a passion. Once you added in the letters it wasn’t fun anymore.

“Ok.” I grabbed my stuff and made sure to grab the write up from her before heading out. At least know I would miss the rest of her boring lesson and I could grab a soda from the machine on the way to see Mr. Thomas.

I ended up having to wait until almost the end of second period to see him. I guess it was a busy day for him but I was fine with waiting. Since turning 18 I just started noticing what everyone was in my school and lets just say less than half are human. It blew my mind and especially the teachers. My first period teacher was just a human with a petty streak but the secretary I was sitting by was a wolf shifter. I have no idea what pack she was a part of since I hadn’t really met all of my new pack. Sunday I will meet the rest of them and hopefully I will see her. I didn’t want to have to out her and deal with any pack politics.

“Ok, Ryder you are next. He is waiting for you. Please try to do better next time.” She leaned a bit closer as I walked by before whispering, “ I never knew you were a wolf. We will have to talk about what pack you are with and get you situated so no fights will be happening on school property.” I just nodded so I could get by her faster.

“So Ryder what brings you to my office?” Mr. Thomas was sitting behind his desk with a smile on his face. I don’t think I have ever seen him in a bad mood and after dealing with high schoolers on all day that was a feat.

“I didn’t want to do the problem on the board for my first hour teacher. She only called on me and then got rude about it. I was honest with her about my stress level and not wanting to go to the board but she just sent me here.” I handed him the note and huffed a bit. When I inhaled I smelled a different shifters scent coming from the principal. “So what are you exactly?” I could feel Blue getting ready to step in if needed but I didn’t think he was a threat.

“I didn’t know you were a wolf shifter, let alone one of the royals. I thought they were all dead.” He pushed the note aside and sat up straighter.

“I asked you what you are. I know you are not a wolf so what kind of shifter are you?” I stared him down without blinking so I could feel his power. If he was anything less than an alpha he would submit to me and turn his eyes away.

He eyes turned downward after a moment and he pretended to clean lint off of his pants. “I am a bear shifter. There is only one clan here and we just moved here a few years ago. We split from our original clan when they decided to take the witches side against you wolfs. Before that we all would defend the village and our people from the vampires but once we got a new alpha he made sure no one stood in the way of feeding time.” I grimaced and shook my head.

“So do you stand behind the wolves when the time comes to take back our rights and our land?” If we could get more shifters to side with us than any wolves we have lost to being selfish jerks would be ok.

“We do. We would prefer not to leave our land and fight but we are more than ready to fight here. I have a question though how are you a royal? They all died when the last war happened and led to the situation most are in now.”

“The queen and King were my parents. They got me out before the kingdom fell and I have had several spells keeping me hidden. Now that I am eighteen everything has changed and it is time to take back my birthright.”

“I cant want to see what you do with the rebuilding of the kingdom and of your kind. I am sorry that you are having to do this in high school. Let me look at your records and see what we can do about getting you out of here sooner so you can start taking care of business. All supernatural are sick of the vampires and witches being in charge.” I grinned when he started to look at my school records but than I remembered I needed my mates to be there to train beside me.

“So along with that can you do it for my mates as well? I need them to be strong and train with me as we make each other stronger.” I held my breath for a minute but he nodded pretty quickly. “Ok so It is Andrew and Blake..”

“The ones who caused you all those problems but today they are wearing signs saying they are your bitches?” He laughed a deep, hearty laugh and I was in shock. “I will look into it. Go ahead and get to class. Finish out today and I should have something figured out by the end of the week. “ I shook his hand and left.
