The Last Royal Luna
(Book 2) – Chapter 12

Knox grabbed me and held me to him. “Whatever it is. We will get through it.” He started rubbing he face against my neck trying to make me feel better but it was not working. I was just starting to get angry instead of sick to my stomach.

“I am so glad WE will get through it. I had no idea that WE will all share the heat, the pain, and the embarrassment of being a needy b***h times infinity,” I point to all of us.

“Sorry. I know you will be in pain and being dependent on us more than you ever would. If I could take the pain away I would but I will what ever I can to make you feel better.” Knox rubbed my back and I leaned into him more.

I took a deep breath before letting the tears fall. “I love you all but I don’t want a baby right now. I am sorry.”

All the guys try to grab me but Kane is closest so he is able to yank me from Knox and squeeze me tightly against him. “There is no need for an apology. We understand how you feel and I am thankful for your honestly. I don’t think we are ready to be dads just yet. I can’t handle danger looming around you let alone a baby. Let’s kill some vampires and win a war before having tons of babies.”

I shove off him landing back in my seat and squeak out, “Tons of babies?” I clear my throat before continuing. “You better believe I am NOT a baby making machine, buddy.” All the guy’s glare at Kane before laughing while telling me it’s all up to me. Damn right it is.

I decided to close my eyes for the rest of the trip so I can just ignore everything that was happening and about to happen to me. I just needed to focus on this meeting and I needed to decide where the vamps were going to go. It took about an hour to get to the meeting place and we ended up parking a little bit aways so that we could walk the rest of the way. Roger and Trevor explained the tactical advantage which I understood and agreed with but I was just ready for all of this to be over in case I did go into heat. I did not need any vampires trying to have bedroom fun with me if that was even a thing for them.

Walking up we saw Charles with the rest of his clan sitting on a picnic table looking just like we feel. Filled with worry, excitement, and feeling like this was a trap. I am glad they thought the same or I would be even more worried.

I stopped to sniff out any scents that didn’t belong to make sure we were safe but I was overcome with the smell of freshly dug dirt and roses. It smelt amazing and before I could figure out why it smelt so good Blue shoved forward and said “Mate” from my lips. Everyone stopped and looked at me. I looked at the guys hoping they weren’t angry or upset. They were looking all around for a werewolf, but it was only us and the vampires.

“Are you sure about what you’re smelling?” Asher asked. I couldn’t get a read on his feelings which scared me a little bit.

“I am very sure and so is blue. Let’s go get introductions out of the way and go from there. This can go on the back burner for now. I love you and I need you to know that no matter how many mates I have I love every single one of you with every part of my being.” I know there are girls and guys out there thinking that they’re so great to have so many mates but in reality you have so many more fears and so many more emotions to overcome. You not only have your happiness to worry about but you have all of theirs. It makes me an anxiety-filled wreck sometimes.

“Sounds good. Lead the way baby.” Andrew kissed my cheek before standing back. I thought I hear a growl mixed with a hiss but when I looked around I saw nothing out of the ordinary.

I walked up to the group just as Charles stood up and put his hand out to shake mine but I bypassed it and gave him a hug. I heard some growls and some shocked voices but I didn’t care. This guy knew my parents and he was great to me. I needed to show that we could be more than enemies.

“Well that shocked everyone and I am glad you did it.” Charles whispered in my ear. I took a step back and winked at him.

I turned and faced my guys with a big smile on my face. “Charles, you remember my mates.” He nodded and they all gave a small wave. “Well I would like you to meet Alpha Roger and Beta Trevor from Rock Haven Pack. They have been amazing hosts and plan to help us in the upcoming war.”

Charles walked over and shook their hands. I could tell the Beta used more force than necessary, but I knew now that was his thing. He had to be the big tough guy even though in the very center there was a small cuddly spot. Charles handled it with grace though because he kept his face straight and didn’t try to out power him.

“Let me introduce you to our clan.” He grabbed my hand and walked me over to where they were sitting. I looked over my shoulder at the guys and none were smiling. It made me smile though so I winked at them and laughed quietly. They definitely had their panties in a bunch which was what they got for being butt nuggets yesterday.

He pointed to a man standing in the far back that had the face of an angel but his eyes told me he was more of a demon. Blue stopped prancing around and stared at him with hunger. s**t, how did I have a vampire for a mate. I looked at Charles and he seemed in shock. He seemed to know what was going on and was having the same confusion as me.

“This is our leader, Edgar.” He looked at Edgar and gulped down some nerves. “Edgar, this is Princess Ryder.”

Edgar walked up to me silently while I held my body as still as I could. Edgar was the predator right now and I was his prey. Blue was liking this game but I hated it. What would my other mates think of having a vampire in the mix? What did I think of having a vampire as a mate? How would it even work? All these questions were swirling around in my head keeping me frozen to the spot.
