ARIELS POV

Manying Luke. The mere thought sent shivers down my spine. Would I ever be able to truly love him, or

would our marriage be nothing more than a facade, à means to an end? And what about his feelings toward me? Would he ever come to see me as anything more than a pawn in his family’s game?

I couldn’t help but wonder what our life together would be like. Would he treat me with the same contempt he had shown earlier, or would he eventually soften toward me? Could a marriage based on duty instead of love bring me happiness?

As I pondered these questions, a sense of dread settled over me like a suffocating blanket. The prospect of spending the rest of my life with someone who may never truly care for me filled me with a profound

sense of loneliness.

But then again, maybe I was just being pessimistic. Perhaps Luke and I could replace a way to make our mamage work, to build something meaningful out of the chaos that surrounded us. After all, strange things had happened, hadn’t they?

With a heavy sigh. I closed my eyes and allowed myself to drift into the realm of uncertainty. Unsure of what the future held, I was determined to face it head–on. Whatever challenges lay ahead, I would confront them with courage and resilience, for better or for worse.

As I drifted into the realm of sleep, my mind became a canvas for twisted visions and haunting images. In the darkness behind my closed eyelids, I found myself standing in a dark room, surrounded by an eerie

silence that seemed to suffocate me.

Before me, a figure emerged, clad in a flowing white wedding dress that billowed around her like a ghostly shroud My heart quickened as I realized that the figure was none other than myself, but there was something horribly wrong, something sinister lurking beneath the surface.

The pristine white of the gown was tainted with streaks of crimson, and the fabric was soaked in blood that dripped from every seam. My hands trembled as I reached out to touch the dress, feeling the sticky warmth of blood against my skin.

A sense of dread washed over me as I looked down at myself, my reflection distorted by the darkness that seemed to seep into every corner of the room. My once–beautiful wedding dress was now a macabre tableau of horror, a symbol of the nightmares that haunted my subconscious.

Fear paralyzed me as I tried to scream and tear myself away from the ghastly sight before me. And then, from the shadows, a figure emerged, his features twisted into a grotesque mask of rage and malice.

It was Luke, but he was no longer the man I thought I knew. His eyes burned with an evil light as he stalked towards me, his hands outstretched as if to claim me as his own. I tried to flee, but my legs refused to move, leaving me helpless against the approaching horror.

ARIEL’S POV

I lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling in the dimly lit room, feeling the weight of the decision I had just made pressing down on me. The events of the day replayed in my mind like a broken record, each moment more chaotic than the last.

Marrying Luke. The mere thought sent shivers down my spine. Would I ever be able to truly love him, or

would our marriage be nothing more than a facade, a means to an end? And what about his feelings

toward me? Would he ever come to see me as anything more than a pawn in his family’s game?

sense of loneliness

But then again, maybe I was just being pessimistic. Perhaps Luke and I could replace a way to make our marriage work, to build something meaningful out of the chaos that surrounded us. After all, strange

things had happened, hadn’t they?

With a heavy sigh, I closed my eyes and allowed myself to drift into the realm of uncertainty. Unsure of

what the future held. I was determined to face it head–on.

Before me, a figure emerged, clad in a flowing white wedding dress that billowed around her like a ghostly shroud. My heart quickened as I realized that the figure was none other than myself, but there was something horribly wrong, something sinister lurking beneath the surface.

The pristine white of the gown was tainted with streaks of crimson, and the fabric was soaked in blood

that dripped from every seam.

With a guttural roar, Luke lunged towards me, his hands wrapping around my throat with a vice–like grip. I struggled against him, gasping for breath as the world around me began to blur and fade.

And then, with a final, desperate gasp. I jolted awake, drenched in a cold sweat and trembling from head to toe. The echoes of the nightmare lingered in my mind, leaving me shaken and disoriented, unsure of what was real and what was merely a trick of the darkness.

I shot up in bed, my heart pounding in my chest as the remnants of the nightmare clung to my consciousness like cobwebs. With trembling hands, I reached for the Inmp on my bedside table and

flicked it on, flooding the room with light that banished the shadows to the cornorn.

swung my legs over the side of the bed; the excellent wood beneath my feet offered a small comfort against the lingering terror of the dream. I stumbled towards the bathroom, the floorboards creaking beneath me with each step, as if echoing the unease in my own mind.

Turning on the faucet, I splashed cold water onto my face, the shock of the chill helping to ground me in reality. I gazed at my reflection in the mirror, the lines of exhaustion etched into my features betraying the restless night I had endured.

The image of the blood–soaked wedding dress flashed before my eyes, sending a shiver down my spine. It was just a dream, I told myself, a figment of my overactive imagination. However, the fear persisted, unabated by reason alone.

I leaned against the sink, gripping the edge tightly as I tried to steady my breathing. The memory of Luke’s twisted visage haunted me, a stark reminder of the uncertainty that lay ahead.

With a heavy sigh, I splashed my face once more, willing the nightmare to fade into the recesses of my mind. I couldn’t let fear dictate my future; I couldn’t allow the specter of doubt to overshadow the choices

I had made.

Bracing myself, I straightened up and met my own gaze in the mirror, determination flickering in the depths of my tired eyes. I would confront the challenges ahead with courage and resilience, not allowing the shadows of my subconscious to imprison me.

Turning off the faucet, I left the bathroom and returned to the dark room, the warmth of the light offering a small beacon of hope in the darkness. With each step, I felt the weight of the decision I had made

pressing down on me once more, but this time, I refused to let it suffocate me.

Taking a deep breath, I climbed back into bed, pulling the covers tightly around me as I settled in for what remained of the night. The echoes of the nightmare still whispered at the edges of my consciousness, but I refused to let them define me.

Closing my eyes, I focused on the steady rhythm of my own heartbeat, letting it guide me back towards the realm of sleep. Whatever trials awaited me in the days ahead, I would face them with courage and conviction, determined to carve out my own path amidst the chaos.

I lay in bed, surrounded by the suffocating silence of the night, my mind still reeling from the horrors of the dream that had torn me from sleep. Despite my best efforts to push the memories away, they persistently loomed like shadows in the corners of my mind, demanding attention.

I shifted restlessly beneath the covers, trying to replace a position that would offer solace from the relentless

grip of insomnia. But no matter how I tossed and turned, sleep remained elusive, slipping through my fingers like sand.

The weight of the decision to many Luke bore down on me like a leaden weight, pressing against my chest with each labored breath. Doubt gnawed at the edges of my consciousness, whispering cruel reminders of the uncertainty that awaited me in the days to come.
