Chapter 1497 Sudden Change

The person continued, “In the afternoon, there were a few thugs who tried to mess around with him.But right before we had the chance to intervene, the kid had already finished all of them on his own.His moves were quite impressive.”

What? Solomon stopped in his tracks. Counterattack? Did I just hear that a ten-year-old finishedsome thugs? But, surely, it wasn't a serious fight.

As Solomon was already arriving at his house, he hung up the phone and entered the house.“Darling, you're back?” Ichika was already done preparing spaghetti and happily waiting forSolomon's arrival

“Yes.” Solomon smiled and handed over his notebook and jacket to Ichika.

Shortly after, they were both seated at the dining table.

“Darling, who was it you were on the phone with just now? You seemed intrigued while on thephone,” Ichika asked curiously.

Solomon took a few sips of his soup. “It was from the people over at Vivi's.”

“Huh?” Upon hearing that, Ichika stopped eating abruptly, and her eyes widened. Worried, shecontinued, “Did something happen? Is Vivi okay?”

"Yes, she’s fine. It was about a little boy named Kurt. He's the one I told you about before. Adistinctive child that the people at Oceanic Estate sent over to study with Vivi,” Solomon brieflyexplained.

Ichika’s curiosity grew upon hearing that. “Yeah? What about him?”

“I was told that he has amazing fighting skills. So I was thinking, perhaps he’s not even a distinctivechild, but instead, he’s someone Sebastian specifically sent over to protect Vivi.”

“What?” Ichika was shocked. "Such a young boy?”

Solomon nodded. “That's not unusual. Back then, all of the members of SteelFort were recruitedwhen they were around Kurt's age. After their training, they'd go on and become elite assassins forthe Hayes family.”

"So, you suspect that Kurt could be from SteelFort?” Ichika was indeed a sharp-witted woman as sheunderstood Solomon right away.

Surely, he’s only ten and yet, possesses such skills. That must be it. Solomon didn't investigate thematter further. Because if Kurt was sent by that man at Oceanic Estate, there was no reason for himto speculate.

He then told those two subordinates of his from SteelFort over at Yartran to act as though nothinghad happened. He also instructed them to pull out from there. Not too shabby, compared to mymen.

However, a piece of bad news arrived at Oceanic Estate three days later.

It was Edmund who went to replace Sebastian personally. “Sebastian, something happened at theschool. There was a girl, Elaine, she died. Did you guys hear about it?"

"What?" Sebastian was stunned. Sasha was flabbergasted too. Coincidentally, Jonathan was nearbytaking a stroll in the garden. He heard about it as well.

"How did it happen?” Sebastian asked.

“There was an accident at an event. And the person who caused the accident was Kurt!” Edmundthen showed them a series of texts he received from a friend over at Yartran. Besides that, he alsodisclosed an investigation report done by the police on the accident.

Kurt? How could it be Kurt? Sasha was shocked. “How could it be? Kurt is only a young boy. Whatsort of an accident could he have caused? This is absurd!”

Jonathan couldn't believe it as well. “Are they stupid?”

Both Edmund and Sebastian remained calm and silent.

A moment later, Edmund calmly suggested that they should replace out more from the people atYartran about what happened.

He then sent a text to his friend. Not less than ten minutes later, he received a phone call fromYartran. It was Vivian.

“Daddy...” Vivian was crying uncontrollably.

Sebastian's heart ached upon hearing that. “All right now, Daddy's here. Everything will be fine, Vivi.”"Okay, I-I'll stop crying now. I knew Daddy would come and rescue Kurt. D-Daddy, you have tocome here fast. I can't let them keep Kurt away. He had nothing to do with what happened toElaine.” Although Vivian was still sobbing, she toughened herself up and begged Sebastian.

Vivian then added, “Kurt didn't cause the accident to happen. That night during the Halloweenevent, everything was going fine as Kurt and I got all dressed up and went over to the event. Butonce we arrived, Elaine and Helena showed up out of nowhere and confronted us. That was whenthe scrimmage happened. How could they blame Kurt for that?” Vivian kept wiping her tears as shewas trying to explain.

At that moment, Sasha took over the phone. She couldn't bear to hear her daughter cry.Furthermore, Vivian had always been the most well-protected in the family. “Vivi, it's Mommy. Don'tworry. Mommy and Daddy will get this settled, okay?"

"Okay." Vivian was relieved.
