I told Rowan twenty minutes even though the meeting didn’t start for another forty…I learned that trick for the mornings because of how long he took to get “ready”..we all know what that means when we can f*****g smell Mila all over him. Even after a shower…grosses me out considering Mila is like a sister to me now.

‘You’re just jealous because you haven’t gotten any in weeks.’

Eris snarled at me and I quickly slammed the link closed. He has been a complete a*****e since last night..well…more than usual that is. He has been restless and moody all f*****g morning. Luckily Jessica had backed off and was apparently dating one of the warriors now. She might be doing it to make me jealous but I am just happy to get the girl off my back..she turned out to be a little nuts..

“Ready to set up the conference room?” Tristan asked, carrying a stack of papers as he walked past me.

I nodded, the scent of something catching me off guard..it smelled like lavender and vanilla.

I quickly stood up, walked over to him, and sniffed the air.

“Dude, what’s your problem?” His voice filled with annoyance as he looked at me like I was a complete psycho.

“Who were you with last night?” I asked, thinking Tristan must have gotten laid.

“No one, well I picked my parents and Lottie up from the airport last night.” He said, still staring at me.

“Stop being weird.” He barked as I sniffed him once more..that smell..it’s faint but f**k it smells good. Maybe Tristan ran into someone with strong perfume at the airport.

“How’s Lottie doing?” I asked absent-mindedly as we walked to the conference room.

“Eh, same old Lottie, she let her hair grow out I guess..other than that still loud-mouthed and opinionated.” He scoffed, setting a stapled stack of papers in front of each seat.

We were having a meeting with a few of the Alphas that had already arrived and phoned in the rest on a conference call. Since a lot of our allies are together it’s a good opportunity to go over a few things. Like the rogue issue and a couple of packs that we aren’t allied with yet. A few financial opportunities and we also have an elder coming so he can get us some insight into Mila’s situation and an issue with more dark magic being used lately. His name was Elder Nicolas who is one of my dad’s good friends, we always thought of him as an uncle.

Mom decided to invite many of the families to come today so they don’t have to travel all day tomorrow since some are coming as far as eight hours away.

Suddenly I felt Rowan’s aura before he even arrived.

‘Wow, he’s actually early for once.’

I grumbled in the link to Tristan. Tristan just glared at me..considering he is the Alpha I guess I shouldn’t be making remarks..but he was my brother first..sooo I don’t care.

Rowan strode in, his grey suit sharp and his silver hair combed back, he actually looked like a true f*****g Alpha. I couldn’t deny that, and his energy was something else this morning.

“What did you do, eat your Wheaties this morning?” I quipped and he growled at me.

“Actually, I ate something much, much more appetizing.” He grinned widely and I almost f*****g vomited. I knew exactly what he meant and I didn’t want to hear it.

“Gross.” I said, causing Tristan to laugh hysterically. He had such a warped sense of humor.

“Okay, so the plan is the conference call covering the Rogue issues, then a few other topics considering the dark magic and the new pack that has edged its way closer to our borders.” He briefed us and Tristan nodded tightly.

‘Beta Blake, a few of the Alphas have arrived.’

Our warrior John linked us.

‘Okay, send them up. Is my dad with them?’

I asked quickly, wondering why he wasn’t here already.

‘He was with our Luna, introducing her to the Elder Nicolas, with the previous Beta Glenn, Beta sir. ‘

John quickly linked and I acknowledge I received it and closed the link.

“I guess Dad’s already showing Mila off to his friends.” I said with a laugh and Rowan tensed. The idea of her meeting any other male besides him obviously pisses him off.

“Bro, they are all like sixty..you gotta chill.” He nodded but I saw his eyes clouding over…I knew for a fact he was linking her and Ian.

Damn, I cannot wait until Mila is part of the pack, then we can actually link and talk without Rowan constantly on her back. At least he has been letting her hang out with us more, even though he continues to tag along. It’s very annoying…

‘Tell your brother to stop pestering Mila, she’s in the kitchen with me and the girls.’

I glanced at Rowan as he let out a low growl.

“Don’t kill the messenger, but mom says chill out, she is in the kitchen with the girls helping out.” I said quickly and just then a few of the Alphas walked in.

Rowan put on his strong Alpha persona and went to shake their hands. Finn was here and he was actually acting normal for once…thank God. He was starting to piss me off too with his constant attention to Mila. At least he is keeping his word and not pushing Rowan anymore..so far at least.

Suddenly a man in his early forties with dark brown hair and green eyes walked in. I remember he was a friend of my dad’s, Alpha Nathan. He had another guy and two young men with him. One looked to be in his twenties and the other a teenager.

“Alpha Rowan, please forgive my Beta, he had to stay back so I brought his son, Harry, our future Beta instead. He is in training and will take over as soon as my son Gabe here is of age in three years. I hope you don’t mind.” He spoke kindly, Alpha Nathan was always nice to us but our father told us about his tragic background. How his wife and daughter were killed in a fire. It was great to know he was given a second chance mate and they had a son.

“Of course, no trouble at all. It’s nice to meet you and thank you for coming in a day early.” Rowan said, regarding the young man who looked like a f*****g model. He was huge too, he had to be at least 6′ 5″. He had Blonde hair and light brown eyes.

“Congratulations on replaceing your Luna, Rose is ecstatic to meet her. She sounds like a wonderful girl. I believe she actually just went down to the kitchen to help with the preparations.” Alpha Nathan smiled.

“Well that is great, I am looking forward to seeing her again.” One thing about Rowan was he knew how to hold a strong presence. He was kind but didn’t over share, so it gave him that mysterious edge.

Once my dad, Glenn and Elder Nicolas came with a few more Alphas and their Betas, we began our meeting, and that f*****g Lavender and Vanilla smell practically choked me the whole f*****g time.

After we were halfway through we decided to break for lunch.

‘Dude, you need to shower. You reek of that perfume.’

I snapped at Tristan in the link, it wasn’t that I hated the smell..it just distracted me so much that I couldn’t even pay attention..what the hell. Tristan’s dad Glenn noticed our staring and shook his head frowning.

‘I already did today..you need to chill.’

Tristan glared at me from across the room, and before I could link him back there was a soft knock at the door.

“Excuse me, I hope I’m not interrupting.” I heard Mila’s sweet voice as Rowan practically jumped out of his chair, running over to her.

“Is everything okay baby?” He asked worriedly, causing the Alphas to all look between each other and smirk.

“I just brought you guys your lunch…I wasn’t interrupting anything was I?” Goddess she was so pure..even Tristan couldn’t help but smile as she walked in carrying a huge a*s tray with sandwiches on it. Rowan tried to pry it out of her hands and she glared at him, telling him to go sit down.

Everyone seemed entranced by her, especially Alpha Nathan for some reason, he was looking at her as if he had seen a ghost. Suddenly the guy next to him, Harry I believe, started to stare at Mila too now. The young Alpha Gabe was just looking at his dad confused, his eyes darting to Mila as they were communicating through their link.

She quickly passed the sandwiches around and Rowan watched her every move, his eyes practically glowing as she smiled at everyone.

She had met most of the Alphas in here but I guess not Alpha Nathan.

“Oh Nathan, this is Mila, the future Luna to Black Stone.” My dad said quickly and Nathan suddenly stood abruptly. His eyes were transfixed on her as the guy next to her stood with him, prompting Gabe to do the same.

“It’s nice to meet you.” Mila spoke softly but something was off, Rowan picked up on it too.

“It is so lovely to meet you.” Alpha Nathan said breathlessly, his hand reaching out and grasping Mila’s. Rowan let a small growl slip, earning a glare from my dad and a chuckle from everyone else.

“I am Harry, it’s a pleasure to meet you Mila.” Suddenly the model boy stepped forward, taking Mila’s hand. His eyes stared down into hers intently as Alpha Nathan gripped his shoulder, squeezing it and glancing at his son who sat with his Gamma.

Rowan began fuming as he watched this guy staring at Mila and holding her hand like he had just found his mate or some shit.

Mila handled it like a pro, she smiled softly and let go of the kid’s hand. Afterward, she leaned into Rowan’s arms, kissing him on the lips softly as she linked him something, calming him instantly. He was close to ripping the kid’s throat out…

‘Well, that was weird.’

Tristan linked as Alpha Nathan and his Gamma Cole seemed to be talking between each other through mind link. Their emotions clearly becoming heightened. Gabe just looked confused as he stared at Mila in shock, studying her intently.

“Well, I have taken up enough of your time, gentlemen.” Mila said softly, turning to leave while Rowan walked her out.

Suddenly Elder Nicolas stood up, walking towards Alpha Nathan as he whispered into his ear.

After Rowan came in he sat down again, glaring at Harry as his eyes flashed black.

“Are you sure?” Elder Nicolas said more loudly and Alpha Nathan nodded his head yes.

“Well, we might as well tell them since it could be a possibility.” He said, looking throughout the room and cleared his throat.

“Alpha Rowan, we believe Mila might be Alpha Nathan’s daughter.” Elder Nicolas said matter of fact, like it was nothing.

My jaw dropped to the floor…Holy f*****g shit…
