The Luna's Hidden Destiny
The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 77

(Mila)

It started how it always does..back in that cabin that I once called home. I was frozen on the bed, my arms and legs unable to move as my head thrashed about wildly.

“I hope you enjoyed my gift for you Mila.” That voice that haunts me every night whispered next to my ear.

“Let’s hope your Alpha got the warning and returns you to me soon enough.” He spat, his hot breath so close to my ear as I closed my eyes tightly, trying not to cry.

I learned to just lay here and not talk back, when I talk back it always got worse.

Suddenly I heard his fingers snap and Rowan was right next to the bed, his eyes cold and distant..his body stiff and unmoving. Just a mere shell of himself. The sight of him made my heart shatter as I couldn’t bare to look and turned my head.

“Look at him!” Marcus yelled, my eyes forcing themselves to look at Rowan once more, as Marcus was now behind him. I shook my head no, trying to cry out now, to scream but nothing came. I watched as Marcus grabbed a silver dagger, his arm raising above Rowan’s back as he was about to plunge it into his flesh.

Please no..please…I sobbed into my own mind, begging to wake up, to not witness this again. Even Calypso was frozen, unable to move or speak.

Suddenly a bright white light began to flicker in the corner of the room. Marcus’s hand slowed down, only mere inches away from Rowan’s skin.

“This isn’t over..you are mine Mila..” He screamed, his voice echoing through my mind as I sat up in bed, gasping for air. A surge of magic flowed through me and then disappeared just as fast as Rowan sat up, his hands on my back as he rubbed me gently.

“It’s okay baby, it’s just the shield we had the white witches put up. It’s supposed to stop dark magic from entering Black Stone.” He whispered pulling me into him as I nuzzled into his chest.

“Thank you…thank you for doing that.” I breathed, feeling relief for the first time in days.

I was safe…I was finally safe from those dreams. He must have used black magic to reach me, I honestly thought it was just nightmares my own mind created. I latched onto Rowan as we snuggled back into bed. My body wrapped around his and my head rested against his chest. Listening to his heartbeat as the image of that dagger filled me once more.

“Baby, what’s wrong?” He whispered, rubbing my back gently.

“Just a bad dream, that’s all.” I spoke against his chest, kissing his smooth skin.

How was Marcus able to reach my mind? All those things he said and did..they all seemed so real and now I know why. He had been using dark magic all of this time.

“Earlier, did..did you see Marcus or talk to him?” I stuttered out, what Marcus said returning to me, he mentioned something about a gift he left for me.

“No. Why?” Rowan asked, his voice strained as he pulled me from him and met my gaze now.

“Was there something he left for me?” I asked nervously, seeing worry flash through Rowan’s eyes.

“Who told you that?” He asked through gritted teeth, anger flashing through him as he tensed beneath me.

I didn’t like keeping things from Rowan…I didn’t want to worry him but now that the shield was up and I was safe I felt like I could tell him.

“Marcus, in a dream..he asked if I liked the gift he left for me.” I whispered, causing Rowan to sit up, shock filling his eyes as he glanced at me. His hands gripped my arms roughly.

“He has been visiting you in your dreams?!” He was furious.

I closed my eyes, nodding my head softly as he pulled me into him.

“Why the hell didn’t you say anything, Mila? How long has this been going on for?” He growled, his Alpha aura pulsing through the air.

“For the past week, I didn’t want to worry you..” I felt ashamed…I felt guilty for hiding this but I didn’t realize they were anything more than nightmares.

“F**K!” He yelled angrily, his arms pulling me into him tighter.

“I am going to hunt him down and rip his f*****g heart out.” He said in the most chilling voice I had ever heard from him.

I pulled back, my eyes searching his dark features. His eyes were black now as his brow furrowed. His body began to shake uncontrollably as Bain tried to take over causing his canines to protrude out.

“It’s over now, it’s done. I’m sorry…I’m sorry I didn’t tell you but he won’t be able to do it again, not with the shield.” I whispered urgently, trying to calm him as my hands stroked the side of his face gently.

“I love you, I am safe here with you.” I reminded him, causing his breathing to slow down as low growls vibrated from his chest.

“It’s okay Bain, I love you, I’m okay.” I leaned forward, kissing his lips tenderly. His grip began to loosen, making it so I could breathe easier as I continued to k**s his face. His eyes fluttered shut, a sigh leaving him as I kissed each one gently. My warm breath fanning against him and soaking into his flesh.

“It’s just you and me, it will always be you and me.” I added, feeling his arms moving up and down my back once more.

“Mila, promise me, you will never keep something like that from me again. I need you to look me in the eyes and swear to me.” He spoke firmly, his eyes now opening as I was met with that clear blue stare that made my heart stop.

“I..I promise. I’m sorry.” I said with a wavering voice. Tears threatening to force their way out as I tried to stay strong..I was trying so hard.

“F**k…come here.” He breathed, pulling me into him as his lips began kissing my face, just like I had done to his.

His hands began to wander my body, warming me with every brush to my skin as I let out a shuddering breath.

“I need you..I need you right now.” He growled against my lips, my head nodding up and down as I slipped away into that feeling..the feeling of comfort and pleasure as his touch consumed me. I needed to know he wasn’t that man in those dreams, that he was alive and well..that he was my Rowan. Not the shell of a man Marcus created..this Rowan was my passionate, loving, protective mate. This was the Rowan that would protect me from that horrible monster.

(Marcus)

I slammed the door shut, walking through the rickety cabin we had been hiding in for two weeks. My anger boiled to a point of no return as I kicked Serena’s door open.

“They put a f*****g shield up, Serena. I told you we should of grabbed her then!” I snapped, looking at the dark witch as she sat in the bath.

Her movements slow and her eyelids drooping. This last spell took a lot out of her but I didn’t give a shit..it was all part of the plan. At the end of this, I would kill Serena anyways. That’s the only way to cover my tracks so no one would ever replace me and my girl.

Suddenly I caught my reflection, the sight of me changing by the hour. She said the potion works day by day, a little at a time. That’s why we needed to hide out for now. Looking at my reflection closer, my once brown eyes were now a deep blue. If this went as planned, I was supposed to walk straight into Black Stone and grab Mila easily. But now with the light witches shielding the damn place..it will be f*****g impossible.

“Just relax, they have to leave Black Stone sometime. Didn’t your little informant say there was a ball or something happening soon.” She said, waving her hand as she began pouring some type of purple shit into her bath, causing it to foam.

“That’s in a f*****g month.” I gritted through my teeth..it has already been long enough without Mila. And since Lucius abandoned me after what I did in those dreams to her..I haven’t heard from him in a week, treacherous bastard.

Once this transformation spell is complete then I can take her far away from here and we will live our life together.

No one knows how precious Mila is, not even herself. Well, one other man does, and luckily he thinks she died right alongside her mother almost eighteen years ago. If anyone replaces out, I wouldn’t be the only man trying to take her from that f*****g Alpha and no way in hell do I need that shit.

“Will the transformation be completed by then?” I asked angrily, trying my hardest not to shove her under that water and drown her right here and now.

Her red eyes snapped to mine, her long fingers drifting atop the water’s surface.

“How the hell should I know? This shit is forbidden for a reason. No one knows the consequences and what the long-term effects are.” She scoffed, acting like I was annoying her, which pissed me off further.

I reached my hand forward, gripping her throat, and squeezed hard. Her eyes grew wide as those red orbs looked around erratically.

“If this shit doesn’t work Serena..it’s your f*****g neck on the line.” I hissed, looking down at the witch as she gasped for air.

I knew she wouldn’t do anything…I knew she was weak-minded and unable to fight back..they all were. No one goes against Alpha Marcus..f*****g no one.
