The Luna's Hidden Destiny
The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 92

(Mila)

After finally gaining enough strength, I was barely able to stand up. My legs felt heavy and tired as I leaned myself up against the wall, trying not to fall while my head began to spin.

Before I could even take the first step, the door opened and shut quickly as a Beautiful young woman with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes appeared before me. Her clothes were dirty and she smelled like a rogue, but she was unlike any rogue I had seen. The only way I could describe her was wild and beautiful as her long strawberry blonde curly hair cascaded around her shoulders. She had freckles on her cheeks and a long scar across her throat.

Her eyes met mine as she stood frozen before me, her breathing heavy and her hands clenched into fists. Looking closer I realized she was holding a knife. For whatever reason, I wasn’t afraid..something inside of me knew this girl was no threat to me.

It felt as if I had met her before, her lilac scent familiar and her presence almost calming and comforting.

She lifted her hand slowly, placing her finger to her lips as she signaled for me to keep quiet. The woman then tiptoed over to me, her arm reaching out and pulling me off the wall while wrapping the other around my waist. She nodded her head toward the door, silently communicating with me that she wanted to exit through the door.

‘Mila, we can trust this girl.’

Calypso said quickly, sensing the same thing I did.

Who was this woman and why was she helping me to begin with? I didn’t even have time to ask before she began moving, not even saying a single thing as she practically dragged me across the room.

Stopping once more, she opened the door, popping her head out as she quickly looked both ways and opened the door wider once she deemed it safe enough.

Her arm was still tight around my waist as she gripped the knife in her other hand, holding it in a defensive position.

The mystery woman looked towards me once more, nodding slightly as I returned the gesture, silently telling her I was ready. Then we were off, the girl pulled me along with her walking down a long hallway as we passed by a man lying unconscious on the floor. This must have been her doing because she didn’t even spare the slumped-over figure a second glance.

I continued to hobble alongside her as she was doing most of the work. Suddenly she stopped, her eyes narrowing as she turned her head slightly, listening to something that I couldn’t even hear. Werewolves have exceptionally good hearing but this girl..she was different.

Just then she placed me against the wall, giving me a hand motion to stay put as she stepped back, gripping her knife even tighter.

Then she was gone, slipping around the corner as I heard a commotion hoping to the goddess it was her who would be coming back. Not even a minute later she popped back around the corner, wiping her knife off onto her black pants as she slipped it into her belt. She quickly helped me off the wall once again as we continued on our way, stepping over the man she had just used that knife on. She must have had amazing hearing or maybe my senses were just dulled because of whatever magic was used on me.

I soon realized that this place was massive..I had no clue where the hell we even were but it looked like some type of warehouse as we entered a huge room with hundreds of crates stacked on top of each other.

Luckily we were able to navigate through the isles of crates and not run into a single person. Occasionally the girl would stop and listen, deciding which way to go before we continued on our path.

Then I felt the cool air blowing close by, the sound of rain falling getting closer with each step..we were almost out..that’s when I heard the yelling.

“They’re coming, everyone line up!.” One man said, causing my heart to stop..he was here. I could feel it, like my soul was trying to reach out, craving that connection to the one that completed it. My Rowan..

“My mate, he is here.” I breathed, telling the mystery woman with relief. She nodded her head tighly, continuing to pull me along.

There was no way Marcus would get out of this..he thinks he can kill my mate but he doesn’t know my Alpha like I do..my mate is strong, my mate will protect me. Then I heard it, that wicked laugh..the dark witch, we had to stop her..if she gets involved in this then Marcus might get away again. If I couldn’t stop Marcus myself, I would at least help my mate in any way possible.

As if the woman with me could read my mind she looked at me and nodded, her eyes burning with determination as she reached for the knife on her belt.

We will end this today, starting with the one thing that could help Marcus the most..the dark witch.

We slowly crept forward, hearing a shrill voice speak as we peeked around the corner. Looking across the way there was a woman with chocolate skin wearing a purple dress. Her long nails matched perfectly as she rubbed them across my mate’s chest..no this wasn’t my mate..this was Marcus. Seeing someone that looked like my mate being touched by another woman made unwanted jealousy rise. Fueling my hatred even more as I turned my head away, unable to watch.

My new friend squeezed my waist, drawing my attention back as she nodded toward the woman in purple who was definitely the dark witch. I could now smell her magic from here, which was a relief honestly because it meant my werewolf senses were coming back. Even Calypso was now standing, more alert and ready to get this over with.

We watched as Marcus walked away from her, carrying something in his hand that made my stomach drop..the silver dagger that was in my dreams. I began to step forward, wanting to take him down now..wanting to stop this… My new friend shook her head hastily, pointing to the witch and showing me her knife. Showing me what we had to do first. I soon noticed something about this girl, looking at the scar on her neck once more.

“You can’t speak can you?” I realized, barely a whisper.

She shook her head no, pointing to the long scar on her throat. I nodded my head, knowing this woman must have gone through something horrible. I decided right then and there that she would be returning to Black Stone with me. I don’t know why but I felt the urge to protect her just as much as she has been protecting me..

Coming back to reality, I knew going after Marcus right now would only make things worse as long as that witch was still around. I needed to try and warn Rowan about the dagger. I quickly tried to link him, wondering if he was close enough.

‘Rowan, can you hear me?’

My voice sounded weak and small…I hated this, I hated feeling so helpless.

Nothing, I didn’t get a response and it made me feel even worse. I needed to tell him, maybe since I was so weak, the ability to link hadn’t returned yet…

Before I could continue spiraling down this road, my new friend pulled my hand, nodding once more as she turned her head towards the witch, who was mixing something at a small workbench.

She crept forward, her movements swift and silent. I was now able to walk without her help as I tried to control my steps, being just as quiet, making sure to step carefully. I watched this woman in front of me in awe as she stalked her prey with stealth and precision. Her movements were graceful and full of purpose.

We were a few feet away, the witch completely oblivious as my new friend lunged forward, her arm wrapping around the witch’s throat and pressing the knife’s blade to her flesh.

“I warned him about you..but no, he didn’t listen.” The witch laughed out, turning as her unsettling red eyes met my gaze.

“You aren’t a dumb one, and your friend here isn’t either. That’s one thing about Alpha Marcus, he thinks all women are the same..well except you..he was always obsessed with you.” She began to ramble on, making the girl press her knife harder into her neck, giving her a silent warning.

“What is Marcus planning..tell me or my friend here will kill you.” I said sharply, looking at the witch as she studied me intently.

“He thinks I didn’t know..who you are..why he wants you so badly. You and I, we aren’t so different you know..I hate him too..and yet, here I am, doing his dirty work yet again.” She croaked out, the knife still pressed tightly against her throat, causing a drop of b***d to slide down her neck.

“Why…why do you stay and not leave?” I asked, watching as the witch’s eyes glowed.

“Because your moon goddess cursed me, a witch, with your stupid rules of fate..” she laughed smugly, snickering as she rolled her eyes.

“What do you mean?” I stepped closer, wanting to stay as quiet as possible.

“You truly can’t be that dense…I am his mate.” She smirked, her words echoing through my mind as I tried to understand them. So she was Marcus’s mate all of this time? Oh goddess, no wonder she helped him all of those years.

The witch began to laugh wildly, her voice echoing off the walls as my new friend pressed her knife deeper against her skin. Making the witch wince as she closed her eyes in pain.

“Enough, just tell me what he is planning.” I commanded, ready to be over with this now.

“You know what he is planning, you saw it in your dreams..You were merely just a distraction to bring him here..just like the girls were to get you here. Sadie was supposed to watch you but I guess this is what Marcus gets for killing her father and sister all those years ago in that fire. Isn’t that right Sadie? He thought he killed you, but I knew who you were from the start, he just wouldn’t listen….” Suddenly the knife jerked to the side, slicing the witch’s throat as her red eyes widened in horror.

I turned my head, keeping my eyes on the girl named Sadie as shock filled me..her father and sister..those were the bodies used in the fire..this poor woman has suffered from Marcus’s hands just as much as the rest of us..no..she has suffered even more, much, much more because not only did he kill her family..he took her voice as well, so she couldn’t tell her own story..well that changes today because I will speak for her…I will tell Marcus just how much of a monster he is and smile on his face as he takes his final breath..Sadie will get justice today..we all will.
