Caliana's POV

"Are you alright?" He asked, he was concerned. I nodded my response but he didn't believe me. He caressed my cheek in the most gentle ways and took me outside the house with him. He took me to the garden where his motorbike was. "I was going for a ride, join me," He said, handing me a black helmet. He had a nice motorbike that reminded me of the one Tristin had. I took the helmet.

"Safety first, please wear it," I looked at him for a long time before I did as he asked and put it over my head. He did the same and he got on, I followed suit.

"I'll take you somewhere, so hold on tight okay,"

"Okay," My voice was hoarse, probably from the crying I did. I held onto him closely and inhaled his scene, he smelled so good. I lay my head on his back as he took off on the road. As we moved, all the sadness from earlier was disappearing and I lifted my head in the air but immediately regretted it as I felt drowsy. Alpha Edward took me to the pack's backroads, I'd never been here before so I made sure to master the routes.

'We are going up there,' He told me through mind link and I looked up, there was a high mountain in front of us, I was going to interject but the motorbike picked up speed as we climbed, I only shut my eyes knowing that if we fall off this bike, we'll get injured. After a few minutes, I couldn't hear the engine anymore so I opened my eyes. We were at the peak of the mountain.

I got off and took off my helmet, I was stunned by the beautiful scenario. It overlooked a river down and a thousand lights shone in the distance, probably from the skyscrapers and houses in the pack.

"It's beautiful,"

Alpha Edward circled his hand around my waist, he slowly hugged me from behind and I leaned into him, we didn't speak for a long time, and I closed my eyes, concentrating on the feeling I was experiencing at that moment. He started to kiss me softly on my neck "Why were you sad?" He asked softly.

"I just remembered a dear friend of mine," I said with a tiny smile. Images of Tristin and I playing in the packhouse replayed in my head. We had an age gap but we got along well, he and Levy were my only closest friends.

"Now I'm curious?" His voice was soft. " Is it an old boyfriend?"

"No, just a friend,"

"Good," He kissed my shoulder and tingles rush all over the area. Why was he being so nice to me?

"Why are you being good to me, you're not here to kill me, are you?" I joked and he chuckled.

"I don't have to bring you this far to kill you, Meyers, if I wanted you dead, I wouldn't do it here," He said and a shiver went down my spine. He sensed my discomfort and said;

"You were sad, and this place always consoles me, I thought it will do the same to you," He said genuinely and I smiled

"Thank you,"

"It can be your place too, our little place," He said. I sucked in a breath and he grabbed my face and landed a kiss on my lips. I didn't want to kiss him back because of the promise I made but I couldn't help it as I did. We pulled away when we were out of breath and he put his head on my forehead and interlocked our fingers

"Our little place,"

We stayed there a while longer before we decided to go back, however, the ride down seemed dangerous.

"No," I said vehemently, crossing my arms against my chest. It was too steep.

"I've done this a lot of times, I won't let anything happen, just get on," He insisted. He spent five minutes telling me about his impressive riding experience but I was resolute.

"I won't risk it, I don't want to die"

"For someone who doesn't like to die, you always seem to defy me,"

"I'm not getting on that thing," I pointed at the bike. Alpha Edward frowns.

"Okay, but we are not walking." He sighed.

"I wasn't planning to, I thought you could carry me," I shrugged.

"I'm not doing that either," He argued. I crossed my arms against my chest and found a spot to sit.

"Well then, I'm not leaving,"

"Okay, don't let the mountain lions catch you," He said, walking out of view. I picked up a pebble and hit him with it, I heard groaning.

"What kind of husband leaves his wife in the middle of nowhere!" I yelled.

"The kind who is hungry and wants to go home but his wife is being a child!" He yelled back. I stood up, and huffed, this man was seriously going to leave here alone!
