POV

I couldn't recognize myself in the mirror, something within me was still burning. How can Edward treat me this way, a pain rippled through me and I broke the mirror. I clutched my chest and sat on the floor until the pain was gone, it has been constant since last night. I stood up to go back into the room. I wanted to go home in the morning but the doctor insisted I stayed for further observations. I was lying in bed when my phone chimed and I received the most heartbreaking text from Edward, He asked me to leave him and his pack, not to contact anyone from his family or my pack will pay for it. My wolf was silent as I read while crying, my fingers were trembling and sobs escaped my lips. What changed with him all of the sudden? I tried to call him and a b***h answered boldly and ordered me to stay away from Edward, the audacity.

What pained me more was that Edward didn't have the guts to talk to me instead his new lover did. I tried to tell him that I'm pregnant but his f*****g b***h ended the call, after trying again, he blocked me.

The door opened and Tristin and Levy entered the room, they looked low, I wasn't used to seeing them like this, they are always joking and laughing.

"What happened," Tristin asked softly, sitting on the couch. I sighed and explained all that happened. Tears rushed from my eyes again and they hugged me to console me.

"I'll f*****g kill him," Tristin growled, he was angry and I shook my head.

"Don't kill anyone for me, especially Edward. I love him," I flinched and bit my tongue as I said the last part.

"You guys were so happy, what happened?" Asked Levy, confused. I shrugged. I don't know either.

"I'm pregnant," I told them and they gasped. Tristin stood up immediately, while Levy's mouth opened, like a fish.

"Don't look at me like that and please say something,"

"You'll be fine and that baby will have all the love it needs and deserves," Levy answered seriously, I smiled at his words. Tristin kissed my forehead and touched my belly, listening for a heartbeat, his lips broke into a smile, making me smile too. "Indeed, you're going to be a mom,"

"A single mom," I murmured. I wished my mate was here with me, maybe if I talked to him, he might reconsider his decision.

"You have us, you're not alone Cali," He said. The door opened and Emilia came in, she was carrying a tray of food, it was mouthwatering but I didn't feel like eating.

"I'm not hungry," I said and looked away from her. A rogue tear escaped my eyes and she wiped it away with her finger.

"A pregnant woman doesn't eat for herself, she eats for the baby inside her. So, get up now and eat something for our baby," She said in a commanding tone. "Our?" I asked and she nodded.

"He's our baby too, don't you know the saying that goes; it's a community that raises a baby or something?" She said in thought, unsure of this.

"I don't think it goes like that," Levy scowled.

"It takes a village to raise a child?" Tristin asked.

"That's what I said!"

"No, you didn't," Levy interjected. The three of them bickered for a long time as I slowly ate for my baby but couldn't finish when It hit me, "Did you see the truck driver that ran my car off the road,"

His move was deliberate now that I thought about it, we were in two different lanes but he followed me.

"I checked the CCTV earlier and got the license number but the truck was registered under a different name," Levy said seriously.

"Blanco is interrogating the owner of a truck as we speak and soon, he'll come up with something,"

"Why is he helping?" I asked. He was an Alpha and I'm sure he had better things to do than worry about matters that don't concern him.

"Blanco likes to take care of beautiful women, he calls himself a collector of special gems," Tristin explained.

"Gems, as in women?"

"Yes,"

"He found you captivating, I saw how his eyes shone the moment he laid eyes on you,"

I snickered and shook my head. They continued to talk about Alpha Blanco. According to Tristin, he has a place filled with the most beautiful diverse women from all over the world and he treats them like princesses. "Wow, that's so cool," Levy said.

"A harem isn't cool, are you crazy? They are like dolls for his entertainment?"

"They can leave anytime but they are still there," Tristin shrugged.

"Wait, and he sleeps with all of them?"

"Yes,"

Speaking of the devil, Alpha Blanco entered the room and his eyes landed on mine, he smiled and faced his beta.

"I caught the guy who was driving the truck that hit Little Caliana," He informed us. I groaned at the nickname Little, why does it rub off on people?

"Was it intentional?" Asked Levy,

"Yes, his name is Jon, and I found out that he had calls from a woman named Candace,"

My eyes widened at the information, I couldn't believe that she'll go this far.

"Where is this Candace now?" Asked Tristin, his body shaking with anger.

"Europe with your Alpha mate, Little Caliana," Alpha Blanco said, looking into my eyes and my heart broke into a thousand pieces. He chose her again, I knew that despicable voice was familiar.

Tears burned my eyes and they rolled down my cheeks but I wiped them quickly. I was tired of crying and I didn't want to anymore. I excused myself and went to the bathroom to wash my face. I straightened my hair with my fingers. The room was dead silent when I entered and they all looked at me with pity, I'm sure they talked about it while I was in the bathroom.

"I don't want to be here anymore, in this place where I'll be close to him," I finally said. I ought to leave this place, I needed to heal for the sake of my child in order to be a better mother. I will come back but not now.
