The Lycan's Soul Mate
chapter 1 Luna

Luna had been having this dream for the past three weeks. Every nightshe would be awoken by her mom at about the same time soaked inwet in the old bathtub in the basement. This was really starting tobecome a problem. The last time this happened she had been at herbest friend's house where she woke up in their garden all covered indirt. That was so embarrassing. Hailey, her best friend chalked it up tobe somnambulism and that was a hard pill to swallow.

“Luna! Luna! Luna, wake up! Honey you are soaked in wet you need toshower and change.” Her mother shouted. “Hmmmm, Awwwg" yawnedLuna extending her slender hand to get a glass of water from herbedside table only to realize that she was not in her room. As sheopened her sleepy eyes a petit dark-haired woman with piercing greeneyes came into focus. “Hurry Luna unless u wanna be late for schoolagain. This thing is getting worse.”

“What the...” she muttered as she got out of the tub wondering howshe managed to get this wet sleeping in a tub without water. “I'm okmom. No need to get all worked up about this; I couldn't sleep so I justcame down here to do a bit of exercising got tired and I must've dozedoff. What time is it anyway?" she asked. “Dozed off u say. It's 6:15AM soyou better get a move on if you don't want to be late for school missy.”Luna ran upstairs took the wet clothes off and got into the shower. Thecold water felt so soothing on her body. Lately Luna had not been ableto tolerate hot showers as she was always heated. “What the hell iswrong with me? Why is this happening to me. This needs to stop” shemuttered as she breathed heavily in the shower with tears streamingdown her flushed cheeks. “Oh God what have I done to deserve this?"Luna remained under the running shower for about ten minutes gettingherself cleaned while trying to make sense of what had been happeningto her. If only someone could help her make sense of it all. It all startedon the night of her 17th birthday. She had this dream for the first timeand that is the first time that she had his episode.

Her parents were peeved and had reprimanded her after she wasbrought home by a female police officer covered in a blanket starknaked beneath it and covered in dirt. They had attributed it to her lackof self-esteem causing her to fall victim to peer pressure. She couldnever forget how embarrassing it was for her when the police officerdropped her off with all the neighbors looking and chattering. Sheremembered thinking what a laughing stock she would become if herso called friends from school found out about it.

“Hmmm”, she sighed while getting out of the shower. There's no pointin telling them what really happened to her that night. What would bethe point? They would think that she was even more crazy and sign herup for more sessions with the shrink. If they signed her up for therapywhen they thought that she got drunk on the night of her 17th birthdayshe didn't even want to think of what they'd do if she told them thatshe blacked out and woke up in the middle of nowhere with blood onher hands and face after her first somnambulism episode two monthsago. Thank God this time wasn't that bad, and she awoke in thebasement instead.

She walked to her dresser to grab a pair of high waist jeans andunderwear while drying her long black hair with a towel. She pulled thejeans up her legs and buttoned them at her waist. “Perfect” shemuttered quietly to herself while admiring herself in the full-length wallmirror in her bedroom. She put on a spaghetti strap pink top and puton matching jeans jacket.

“Luna what the heck are you doing up there, are you purposely tryingto be late?” “Coming mom!” she shouted as she quickly grabbed herbackpack and phone while taking one last look at herself in the mirrorbefore leaving. “what's for breakfast? I smell sausages, bacon and eggs, toast and pancakes. What's the occasion? Why the variety this morningmom?"

“Wow, you look great!” her mother exclaimed “it's almost as if you'reexcited to be back at school.” She ignored her mother's comment andproceeded to grab a plate which she stacked with toast bacon, sausages and some eggs. She then poured herself a glass of orangejuice and asked, "Hey where's Michael anyway.” Michael was herstepfather, practically her father as he had been raising her since herfather was brutally killed eight years ago in a robbery. Michael hadbeen the detective assigned to her father's case and had taken a likingto her mother. “OH, he left early this morning, you know how it is.”“Well later then”, she said as she started walking out the door with herbackpack. “Luna! Arent you forgetting something?” her mother smiled. She ran back inside and gave her mother a kiss on the cheek. “See youlater mom!” she shouted as she rushed out the door. “Well deep breathLuna, it's just college.”

She secretly hoped that it would be nothing like high school whereeverything that could possibly go wrong to a young girl happened toher. She had been frail and as a consequence was not very popular. Shemanaged to survive high school with the help of her friend Haily whowas there for her whenever she needed saving from getting out of GYMclass. Luna was more of a nerd, and this is why the other kids found herstrange and why she didn't really have many friends. She continuedwalking down the block where she took the bus to Attica Communitycollege.
