As she spoke, Quinn asked him again, "By the way, Brother Charlie, you'll be going back to Eastcliff during the Tomb Sweeping Festival to participate in the ancestor worship ceremony, right?" Charlie nodded. "That's right. Why?"
"No reason." Quinn said, "The Tomb Sweeping Festival is in April, right? That means I'll be able to see you in Eastcliff again soon." 5
Charlie smiled slightly. "Yes. I'll definitely come and visit you, Uncle Golding, and Aunt Golding at your house then."
Quinn said, "Your timing is perfect because I'll be going to the United States in the middle of April."
"Going to the United States?" Charlie asked curiously," Why are you suddenly going to the United States?"
"It's not sudden." Quinn said, "Since I'm going to quit the entertainment industry after my concert tour this time, I've decided to hold a few more concerts. It can also be considered as my way of giving my fans an explanation. I also have a lot of fans in Europe, the United States, Japan, and Korea. Most of them are Oskians. So, in addition to the concerts that I will be holding in Oskia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau
also have to arrange for a few more venues to hold my concerts in Japan, Korea, Europe, and the United States. I'll be holding five concerts in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Houston, and Seattle from midApril to the end of April. After that, I will move on to Japan and Korea for another three more performances."
Charlie was puzzled and asked, "Why don't you finish performing in Asia first before going to Europe and the United States? You'll have to go all the way there for more than half a month before coming all the way back here again."
Quinn laughed and said, "My parents also happen to be going to the United States in April due to some official business. So, I plan to go together with them."
As she spoke, Quinn asked Charlie, "Brother Charlie, do you want to go together?" 2
Charlie shook his head and smiled as he said, "I'll not be going. There are still a lot of things that I have to do in Aurous Hill. Moreover, it is estimated that my ocean shipping group will start running in April. So, I probably will not be able to make time to get away."
Quinn nodded as she said with some regrets, "The main reason is because the United States is such an unfamiliar place. So, I feel like I will not be used to it. It is much better to have my parents with me, but it would be even better if you could come with us too. However, I understand completely because you will have your own things to handle."
Charlie comforted her, "Although the United States is far away, it is only a twelve hour flight away.
Moreover, you will be mainly performing for the Oskians living abroad. So, you don't have to worry about being unaccustomed to the crowd."
"Mm." Quinn nodded slightly and asked Charlie," Brother Charlie, don't you want to go to the United States to take a look?"
Charlie shook his head. "What would I want to see in the United States?"
Quinn said, "You can go and see your grandparents. I heard my mother saying that your grandparents are still alive."
Charlie was stunned for a moment.
After a few seconds had passed, he smiled unnaturally as he said, "It'd be better forme not to bother them. After all, I had only seen them a few times when I was young. I guess they will not feel much affection for me. Then again, I do not have much affection for them either." 4
There was a sentence that Charlie did not say.
know
He did not know much about his mother's life experience in the past. His only impression was that he e had met his grandparents when he was very young. So, he did not really have any emotional foundation or relationship with his grandparents.
Moreover, after he had gotten to know Yolden, Yolden had then told him that his mother's family was actually much more powerful as compared to the
Wade family. Charlie's grandparents had also been very unhappy and dissatisfied with his mother's decision to marry his father and follow his father back to Oskia.
It was even said that her mother might have had a lot of conflicts with her natal family as a result of this.
Now that his mother was no longer
alive, as their grandson that they had
not seen in more than twenty years, Charlie was afraid that he would only make things awkward for his grandparents if he were to really go and look for them now.
So, Charlie felt that not bothering them was also his way of showing them respect. 3
