The Mark of an Alpha -
Chapter 64
There is no way to prepare for the mental frenzy that is happening right now. A few hours ago I was not sure of what to think about the situation of my mother. Mathew was the one that had to live with this.
Mathew is far more trustworthy than Ivan. Hunter guides me physically to my room but my mind is somewhere far away. I always knew that my parents were mates but Ivan planted that seed and a part of me thought the Moon Goddess was seeking out revenge making Marcus my mate.
Hunter opens the door to our bedroom it might not be my bedroom but it is a welcome sight.
“Melany,” he whispers into my ear. There no way that I can lose myself, not here of all places. I turn to him and see that he is only a few inches away from me. I breathe in his scent and my body relaxes knowing that he is so close to me and he feels like home to me.
Wherever I am with Hunter I am home, I am safe. He is my home. The worry in his eyes pushes me forward. I do not hold back as I push myself closer to him my lips seeking his and he does not hesitate as his lips crash down on mine. We move in sync as his body presses mine against the door. His leg goes between my legs pushing my body up the door as his hands grab my hips pinning me to the door.
“Melany,” he growls as he bites on my bottom lip. My hands rest on his shoulders as his hands wander up to my body. “Are you sure that you want to do this?” Hunter mumbles into my mouth I try to catch my breath but I cannot talk. I nod and his eyes darken.
His grip tightens around my waist and he pulls me close to him and suddenly he lifts me off the ground. I squeal in surprise as he carries me to the bed. He lets our bodies fall onto the mattress. His body pins me to the bed as he stares into my eyes. His eyes take me in possessively, “You’re the love of my life. Don't ever forget that.”
His words make my heart burst in my chest as I fight to replace the words to tell him how much he means to me. When words fail actions speak.
I push myself closer to him and his lips gently skim mine as he breathes in my scent and I cannot stop the smile on my lips. My nose skims his jawline as I make my way down. His mark comes into view and my lips gently caress his mark and his body shudders above me sending a wave of pleasure through me, I can make him shiver with just such a simple gesture.
“I looked for you my entire life,” I kiss him on his mark and breathe on him. He groans and then an animalistic growl rumbles through him. “Mark me.”
His breath is uneven as he lets the words sink in. His hand goes to my chin making me look into his eyes. They are dark and ready to let his wolf surface. He nods and I relax into the bed closing my eyes waiting for him to make his move. I can feel his nose skim the side of my neck as he breathes me in.
Hunter's breath marks the spot. The spot where the rogue attacked me as a pup. The spot that has bad memories attached to it. Hunter gently kisses the spot and I can feel my body tense up as I wait for him. “I’m not going to hurt you,” he mutters against my neck.
I swallow, “I know, do it.”
The sensation of something sharp against my skin makes me close my eyes tighter. I can feel Hunter hesitating and my hands go to the back of his head my fingernails running through his scalp as he relaxes with this motion. I know that it is coming but it still catches me by surprise as his teeth sink into my neck. My fingers grip his hair tighter. The pain that courses through me is terrifying because it is coming from someone you trust and love. Hunter must sense it because tries to pull away but I hold his place.
“Finish it please,” I groaned trying to keep my mouth from releasing the scream that is tingling deep in my throat. The pain shoots through me once again and soon my body appears to be filled with morphine as the pain subsides. Hunter’s body drops on top of me the act itself seems to have drained him. The back of his head brushes against my cheek as I feel his heat warm me to my core.
He is finally yours.
At last!
He nuzzles up against my neck and kisses my mark sending a shiver through my body. “Are you okay?”
“I’m better than okay.” He turns away from me. I look over at him my nose nuzzles into his hair and I take a deep breath.
I am his and he is mine.
“Melany, there is something else that I wanted to do but it can wait for some other time,” he says his face is still facing away from me.
“What is it?” I can hear him take a deep breath.
“I’m not sure how you’re going to react but it will make this night so much better for me.” His words sink in and I am getting a clue where he is leading me towards.
“Then ask it.” I push myself up and Hunter sits up as well. His weary eyes land on mine as he tries to figure out what I am thinking.
“I’ll be right back.” Hunter’s hand caresses my cheek and then moves down to my mark as his fingers skim it sending a pleasurable shiver through me.
He gives me a mischievous grin and he jumps off the bed and without a glance back he walks out the door. I get off the bed as well and walk into the bathroom. Turning on the lights my reflection stares back at me in the mirror. My hand moves my hair to the side as my mark comes into view.
This is what every werewolf wants and I finally have it. The sign to show the world that I finally found the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. I hear the door close and I peek out into the room and Hunter is standing in the middle of the room.
“Melany,” his hand stretches out and I cannot help but walk to him. I place my hand in his and he suddenly appears nerves. “I know that we haven’t known each other for that long but I thought since we are both now marked that I rather do it now. I never expected to replace happiness after some tragic experiences but somehow fate brought me into your turf and look at me now. I can’t go a day without a reminder of you. Leaving you for days on end kills me but then when I get to hold you in my arms once again makes it that much sweeter. I guess what I am trying to say,” He takes a deep breath and kneels on one knee before me as his hand goes into his pocket pulling out a box, “Melany Blake...will you marry me?”
Woah!
Hunter said that he wanted the human equivalent of the mark. This unfamiliar feeling fills my chest as my eyes burn. He wants to marry me.
My hand clamps over my mouth as he opens up the box revealing a beautiful diamond ring. I seem to have lost my voice as I cannot summon the word I want to say. He stares at me waiting for my answer, I nod and his eyes widen.
“Yes?” I nod again, “Yes!” He pulls the ring out of the box and proceeds to put it on my shaky ring finger. His arms wrap around my legs and he pulls me up with him as he stands. I scream as he raises me like a trophy. “Get ready world because there is going to be a Mrs. Hunter very soon.” He chimes as he puts me down on my feet. I wrap my hands around his neck and kiss him on the lips as he mumbles something against them. I pull away from him.
“What?” I giggle as I finally feel the tears make their way down my cheeks.
“You made me the happiest man on earth and I hope that I make you half as happy as you make me.”
I shake my head, “I’m the lucky one in this.” He grabs me by the waist once again and lifts me into the air turning me around.
“Ken and Andrew are waiting.” He smiles at me and I can see the anticipation in his eyes.
“They knew!” I gasp as Hunter puts me down once again.
“Of course, they were the ones who got the ring for me, but I picked it of course.” His lips crash into mine and I feel as if I am going to pass out from happiness. He is the reason I breathe and the reason why I am so happy why would not I want the same for him.
