The Medallion
Chapter 1378 The Rally Against Alston

"Basil, we can't trust Alyssa anymore," Isis insisted resentfully.

Rocky said nothing more before he dismissed the crowd.

"What should we do? It appears everyone suspects Alyssa, though we can't blame them," Marcia said as she looked at Rocky.

"I know. You'd better get to the front line Alyssa mentioned and confirm if what she said was true," Rocky ordered after thinking for a while.

Marcia nodded obediently.

Once she left, Rocky planned to head over to the Butterfly Divine Clan and the Dragon Master Clan to talk with Cherry and Moira. This might be his only chance to secure indispensable help from the two clans against Alston. He needed the assistance of the Phoenix Master Clan as well. Since he was short on time, he planned on ordering Erica to return to the Phoenix Master Clan on his behalf.

As Rocky headed out, he noticed Isis standing at the door.

"Are you waiting for me, Isis?" he asked as he drew nearer.

"I want to talk to you about Alyssa," she said, her tone serious.

"Alright. Go ahead." He didn't say it out loud, but he already knew what she was about to say.

"I don't care what Alyssa has told you. I still don't trust her. Once I see her, I'll slaughter her without mercy and I don't want you to interfere. This is solely between me and her. I'll handle it myself," Isis informed him gravely.

"Do what you want. I won't meddle," Rocky replied indifferently. "However, he asked me to tell you she's truly sorry and never meant to kill your father."

"Her apology is useless to me now. If I die fighting against Alyssa, I need you to take care of Nigel for me," Isis asked him. She knew she was no match for Alyssa, but that wouldn't stop her from avenging her father.

"I said I wouldn't interfere between you two, but I never said I'd see or allow you to die," Rocky declared assertively, catching Isis off guard.

"Would you like to accompany me to the Dragon Master Clan to visit Nigel? I know you miss him dearly," he offered.

Isis nodded her head in agreement. Indeed, she missed Nigel very much.

Soon, the two of them set out for the Dragon Master Clan.

Meanwhile, in the Spiritual King Hall,

Alston eyed Alyssa suspiciously. She gazed straight into his eyes, calm and collected. There was no sign of guilt anywhere on her face.

"I heard Basil killed you, but you suddenly came back to life. Would you care to explain what has happened?" Alston knew everything about Alyssa.

"I was just lucky," she answered coolly.

"Did Basil save you?" Alston was always wary of Alyssa. But given their current situation, he permitted her to lead his army and the power of the spiritual race.

"Is that what you suspect? I wanted to kill him. Unfortunately, my skills were inferior to his. Although I have guarded the most critical strategic position, I still lost to him. So I came to apologize," Alyssa explained, her tone neither humble nor pushy.

"You don't have to apologize. With your credible reputation, this won't be a huge issue. As long as you continue to lead the army and eliminate the United Army, you'll make up for your mistakes," Alston assured her, waving his hand.

"Thank you, Your Majesty. I shall leave now." Alyssa turned and was about to leave.

But then, Alyssa felt something was off. Without warning, she found herself trapped in a strong, dark force that prevented her from moving.

"What are you doing?" As she turned around, she felt her blood run cold as she locked eyes with Alston. He sneered and glared at her with eyes full of contempt.

"Did you honestly think I would fall for another one of your lies again, you bitch?" Alston's face darkened as he slapped Alyssa's chest hard.

She groaned in agony as she spat out blood and passed out on the floor.

"She's unconscious, Your Majesty," Dean confirmed as he walked to Alyssa's limp body.

"Lock her up. She's also one of Basil's weaknesses," Alston commanded before turning to leave without looking back.

Alyssa was carried away by several powerful ordinary spiritual beings to where she would be imprisoned.

Meanwhile, Rocky and Isis arrived at the Dragon Master Clan. He instructed Isis to visit Sue and Nigel while he stayed behind to discuss something with Moira.

"You mean...Alyssa is just pretending to side with Alston?" Moira knew about Alyssa's reputation, so what Rocky just shared surprised her.

"I know it sounds hard to believe, but I still believe her," he shared bluntly.

"Even if what she said was true, it's too risky." Moira was still skeptical. She believed that letting her guard down and trusting Alyssa so easily would result in dire consequences later on. "That is why I've ordered Marcia to investigate further," Rocky revealed.

"It always pays to be careful. You're here to ask for the Dragon Master Clan to support you, correct?" Moira pointed out, stating his intentions clearly. There was no beating around the bush with her.

He answered with a solemn nod.

"If we take the opportunity to strike Alston with a fatal blow, then you can count on the Dragon Master Clan to go all out," Moira answered after contemplating a little. She also knew very well that Alston, who already unified almost all the clans of the spiritual race, was undoubtedly their greatest enemy. The clan would inevitably have to slaughter him if they wished to regain their strength and prominence. But with their current strength, it wasn't enough. They needed to not only cooperate with the human race but also rely on their power to defeat Alston.

"Aside from the Dragon Master Clan, I'll also rally up the Butterfly Divine Clan, the Phoenix Master Clan, and the Wood Clan to fight Alston to the death," Rocky continued.

"Until then, I shall wait and see," Moira replied, a faint smile dancing across her lips.

After talking to Moira, Rocky looked for Isis. He saw her holding Nigel in her arms with a soft smile inherent of a mother. This was the first time he'd seen her beaming with joy since Lance's death. "Isis, it's time to go," Rocky announced as he inched closer towards both of them.

Isis looked at Nigel longingly, reluctant to leave him so soon.

"If you missed him that much, you could stay for a few more days," Rocky calmly pointed out.

"No, it's alright. I'm already happy just seeing him, even for just a short while." Isis gave Nigel's forehead a tender kiss before handing him over to Sue. Just as she did, Nigel suddenly reached out his tiny hands toward Rocky and stared at him with glistening eyes.☐☐
