The Medallion -
Chapter 1412 The Training Target
"Well, doctor. How's his condition?" the attendant in yellow asked indifferently.
"Judging from his pulse, he must have suffered some internal injuries. Moreover, he doesn't seem to be a spirit warrior. It means that the injuries he acquired may actually be too severe that they could take his life. He must be treated as soon as possible if we want to save him," the doctor remarked in a serious tone.
"Humph! This guy has terrible luck. Oh well, that's actually none of our business. Doctor, can't you just give him some sort of medicine? As long as he becomes a little better, we can then report the completion of our task. We actually don't care if he lives or dies afterward. After all, he doesn't have any use to us anymore," the attendant in blue remarked in an annoyed tone.
"I'm afraid I can't do that. It's inappropriate even if he's just from a lower kind of race," the doctor replied hesitantly. As a doctor, he was supposed to carry his duty out no matter who was it that needed his service.
"Come on, it's okay! No one will care about the life of a homeless man. Just do what we say and all of us can move past this," the attendant said as his voice became slightly threatening.
At this point, the doctor seemed to be a bit afraid of the attendants, so he was left with no choice but to agree. Then, he took out a piece of paper and pen from the medicine box, wrote a prescription, and handed it to the two attendants.
"Here. Take it and go to the pharmacy. Ask them to prepare the medicine, boil it, and send it here as soon as possible," the doctor instructed. "See? It isn't that hard," the attendant in blue commented as he took the prescription.
After briefly scanning it, he handed the paper to the attendant in yellow. "Huh? Why are you giving it to me? Just do it. You're the one who took it in the first place," the attendant in yellow complained, strongly refusing to take it.
"Why? It's because you have an old lover in the pharmacy. We can get it done faster that way," the attendant in blue answered with a meaningful smile.
"Don't talk nonsense! It's going to be the complete opposite, you dimwit," The face of the attendant in yellow was obviously flustered when he heard that.
"Just hurry up! If this guy dies and Miss Hannah blames us for it, imagine the consequences. I think that's more scary than facing you ex-lover," the attendant in blue urged as he thrust the paper into the hands of his companion.
The attendant in yellow wore a sour expression as he took the paper and eventually walked out of the room.
At the same time, the attendant in blue kicked Rocky a few times and said, "Hey, brat! Don't die on us or I'll throw you into the woods and feed you to the wild dogs."
"Don't worry... I won't," Rocky answered as he acted like a very weak person that was about to die.
Hearing this, the attendant smirked and walked out of the storage room too.
Seeing that the two attendants would be gone for quite a while, Rocky decided to sneak out of the storage room, intending to familiarize himself with the various places in the city.
'Hmm. From the conversation between Ramon and the young lady, this place is a property of the governor. Does that mean that the young lady is actually the governor's daughter?' Rocky guessed.
A moment later, he passed by at what seemed to be a training ground. He saw at least a hundred young men and women who vigorously practiced their swordsmanship. Each of them exuded strong spiritual aura and had the strength that should be at least on par with the cultivators at the Heavenly Stage.
"Hey, brat! Why are you loitering at this place?" While Rocky was observing the training ground, he didn't notice that three figures came over from behind him. Among them was a young man in a white robe who questioned him. After all, Rocky was a bit suspicious-looking with his sloppy and furtive appearance.
"Oh, what can I do for you, sirs?" Rocky quickly asked respectfully. At the same time, he glanced at the three men and perceived that their spiritual power was equivalent to that of the cultivators at the Superna Stage.
"You don't look like a member of the Sword Spirit City. What are you doing here and where do you come from?" the man in the white robe asked haughtily. It was pretty obvious that he thought highly of himself and he found Rocky as an eyesore.
"I'm just a handyman from the beast farm and I'm quite new here. That's why I'm not yet familiar with all the places," Rocky replied calmly.
"Humph! A handyman? No wonder you look this shabby." The man in white imposed his authority and sneered, "Listen carefully. This is a training ground and those irrelevant can't just enter this place wheneve they like. Do you understand?"
"I see. I apologize, sir. I didn't know. I'm going to take my leave now." Rocky bowed apologetically and turned to leave. He didn't want as much attention as possible.
"Hold on! I didn't say that you could leave yet. You're already here, so I guess we can make use of you. It just happens that the three of us need a target for our training. You'll just do nicely," the man in white said as if he was talking to a slave.
"Training target?" Rocky asked with a smile as he was forced to play along for a while since the man didn't seem willing to let him go that easily.
"Yes. For practicing our swordsmanship, of course," the man in white replied in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Will it be dangerous?" Rocky inquired, putting a fake concern in his voice.
"Ha-ha! You don't need to worry. We, the disciples of the Sword Spirit City, are much stronger than ordinary cultivators. You're not going to get hurt because we are the elite disciples in this field," the man in white answered confidently as a cunning look flashed in his eyes.
"All right then. No problem." Rocky had always been a straightforward man. If someone offended him, he wouldn't just stand idly. Since the man in white wanted to take advantage of him, Rocky thought of giving him the taste of his own medicine.
As they found a spot where they could train, the three men glanced at each other and asked Rocky to stand at a designated position not far away from them.
"I'll try first!" One of the disciples was itching to give it a try. He quickly pulled out the spiritual sword from his back and spun it in the air. The sword then immediately flew out into the air and darted towards Rocky as it was being controlled by his fingers.
The flying spiritual sword was approaching swiftly and it seemed like any ordinary person who was hit by it would be easily killed. However, Rocky knew that these three disciples didn't have the intention to kill him. Instead, they would make it seem to really target him in order to frighten and embarrass him.
Rocky saw through them quite effortlessly and planned on retaliating in his own way. Therefore, when he saw the spiritual sword almost hitting him, he slightly shook his hand. His movement was very unnoticeable, but he was able to make the sword suddenly turn and rush back to the disciple who threw it.
The disciple was caught off guard because he didn't expect the sword to dash back at him. Thus, he panicked and tried his best to dodge it in a hurry. However, his shoulders were still slightly grazed by the spiritual sword. As a result, a part of his clothe was torn and blood trickled down, making him look like a mere amateur that made a fool of himself.
The man in white and the other disciple were a bit stunned at first, but they thought that it was just an honest mistake. Hence, they laughed at their companion who was even excited to try first. "Hey! Have you been going to the brothel a lot recently? You can't even use your sword well. Get some more practice, will you?"
"It's impossible. I'm sure that I made it..." At that moment, the injured disciple looked at his spiritual sword in confusion before looking at Rocky. He was a bit perplexed because he was sure that just now, he felt that his spiritual sword was knocked by an unknown force that made it rush back towards him.
"Watch and learn, man. This is how you do it." The second disciple stepped forward and sneered with confidence. He then put his hands together and unsheathed his spiritual sword. In the blink of an eye, the sword shot towards Rocky as if a comet piercing through the sky. At the same time, the strength exhibited by him was a little stronger than that of the previous disciple.
However, before Rocky, it was still something trivial. When the second spiritual sword was almost near him, he stealthily moved his body away to avoid the attack at a speed that would be hard to discern through the naked eyes.
Upon seeing that he also missed by a huge margin, the second disciple widened his eyes in disbelief.
"Come on! Do you guys not know how to properly aim a still target? If the elder sees this, both of you will be in a lot of trouble." The man in white shook his head as he chuckled loudly.
"Let me try again!" the second disciple shouted. Making a mistake like that was no laughing matter for him. He controlled his spiritual sword and made it attack Rocky from behind. However, the moment that it was about to reach him, the spiritual sword deviated from its original trajectory again.
The disciple almost went insane that he kept attacking Rocky nonstop, but the sword just couldn't touch him. It was as if there was a barrier surrounding him that deflected the blade any time that it was about to hit him.
At this point, even the man in white grew annoyed at this embarrassing sight. Thus, he stepped forward himself and shouted, "Get out of the way! You're such a disgrace. I'll do it myself!" After saying that, he brandished his own spiritual sword. Compared to the other two disciples, he was obviously much stronger. In fact, the moment he unsheathed his sword, an overbearing sword aura swept across the area. The next moment, the man's spiritual sword turned into a shadow and instantly disappeared in midair.
"Ha! That brat has some bad luck. There's no escaping that attack!" one of the disciples shouted. He rubbed his hands as he expected a great show coming up.
The spiritual skills of the Supreme Ether Land were divided into three stages-primary, medium, and premium. At that time, the skill employed by the man in white was swordsmanship at the medium stage of the Spirit Realm in the Sword Spirit City.
At the sight of this, Rocky's eyes narrowed. As the spiritual sword disappeared, so was the spiritual aura that it carried. He knew that this wasn't some ordinary skill that was easy to deal with.0000000
