Chapter 1489 Rocky Versus Edgar (Part One)
Ramon's hard-fought victory made the members of the Sword Spirit Sect breathe a sigh of relief. As long as he won the next match, he would be able to reach the finals. By then, his chances of winning the entire competition would be at least fifty percent.
"Well done! I must say that his performance was really impressive." At the same time, Rocky, who was watching on the sidelines expressed his admiration. He could see that with Ramon's current strength, as long as he didn't meet someone far superior to him, then he shouldn't have any trouble fighting to the end.
"Today's tests are all over. The next two battles will not start until tomorrow morning!" Hannah briefly announced. It was already dusk when the events for that day finished.
After that, the representatives of the clans and sects headed back and the spectators also left the area.
Ramon, as well as the four participants who weren't able to fight that day, returned to their respective lounges. Rocky went to his lounge and took off his disguise first before going to Ramon's lounge to congratulate him. "What a spectacular win! You deserved it!" Rocky commented as soon as he saw Ramon.
"Thank you. I must say that it's all because of you. If I stuck to my ways in the past, I might have lost miserably. After being with you for a long time, I learned to adjust accordingly to what the situation is. With that, my movements became a bit unpredictable," Ramon said with sincerity. He knew that changing his tactics was a risky move. If he failed, the other party might have taken advantage of it. But he was glad that he believed in himself and risked it.
"Well, adapting to changing circumstances is really a skill that one must master, and I think that you've done well in that aspect. However, I'm afraid that from here on, any opponent you face must be difficult to deal with," Rocky warned.
Ramon nodded and reassured him, "I am also aware of that and mentally prepared."
"Remember when I told you before that you have to reach the final round first so that I could help you? Thus, no matter what, you need to win your next match," Rocky reminded.
"Well, yeah. But you didn't explain the reason to me," Ramon said, confused as to how Rocky would be able to help him in the last round.
"Just trust me. You'll know when that time comes." Rocky didn't tell Ramon his plan right away because it might only make him overthink.
"Okay then." Knowing Rocky's way of doing things, Ramon didn't ask anymore.
The two of them chatted about Ramon's experiences during his previous fight for a while before Rocky eventually left.
Then, the next day, the two remaining matches ensued. Among the participants was Knox of the Grand Sky Sect, and people thought whoever he fought, he would still advance to the next round. Soon enough, Hannah drew the names for the pairing. One of them was Knox, and it turned out that his opponent was not Edgar, but someone from another lesser-known sect.
As soon as the people saw the match-up, they were pretty confident that Knox would win.
Just as expected, two hours after the battle began, Knox emerged victorious without even sustaining much damage.
Since there were just two remaining participants who weren't called, Hannah didn't need to draw the names anymore. Right after Knox and his opponent got down from the ring, Rocky, and the other representative from a certain sect went straight to the stage.
"Let's have a good fight," Rocky said as he cupped his hands.
"Humph! Don't be hypocritical. Just come at me and I will kick your ass and defeat you in an hour!" The other participant seemed to be full of confidence because he could sense that Rocky's aura wasn't that strong. At most, he thought that Rocky should have just broken through to the primary stage of the Spiritual Infant; thus he shouldn't pose any threat to him.
"An hour? I'm afraid our battle wouldn't even take that long. Just try to hold on for the first five minutes." As soon as Rocky finished his words, he instantly turned into a shadow and dashed towards his opponent.
On the other hand, the other warrior was taken aback by Rocky's sudden movement. With his fast reflex, he immediately waved the blade in his hand and shot out a few streams of spiritual force, but they weren't able to resist Rocky.
Shocked by Rocky's sudden burst of intimidating aura, the warrior couldn't help but narrow his eyes. With a raging roar, he immediately began spinning at top speed. At the same time, the blade in his hand whirled and flashed around. He then flew and continuously shot out his spiritual power to prevent Rocky from approaching further.
Clang!
With a loud sound of metal colliding, Rocky's opponent suddenly stopped spinning as his blade was obstructed by a seemingly ordinary dagger.
However, the next moment, the dagger's spiritual power surged out, turning into a flaming blade. Immediately after, Rocky waved the dagger and let out a slash. His opponent was obviously caught off guard and was sent flying for more than ten meters away just from the blade force. As he crashed on the ground, he felt a numbing pain and struggled to get up.
Before he could even get back on his feet, he saw that Rocky was already approaching him again. Then, Rocky waved the Frozen Wind Dagger in his hand and unleashed an interweaving dense spiritual net that instantly enveloped his opponent.
As a result, the warrior's face turned ghastly pale. He didn't expect that Rocky would be this powerful. Although he tried his best to get out of the spiritual net, he utterly failed.
Everyone was surprised to see that Rocky could suppress his opponent to this extent. After all, they saw his performance from his previous matches, and it seemed that he wasn't someone noteworthy. Under the intense pressure that Rocky was exuding, his opponent kept on retreating and couldn't fight back anymore. Within five minutes, he was badly mauled over.
"Do you still want to continue?" Rocky asked as he stood in front of his opponent.
"I..." The warrior stared at Rocky in awe as he caught his breath. "I yield!" The warrior was not a fool. He knew that if he didn't concede, Rocky would just continue to make him agonize and there was no way that he could turn the tables. Therefore, it was wiser to admit defeat than suffer more losses than necessary.00000000
