The Medallion
Chapter 1536 The Scary Room

Typically, once an individual had reached the King Realm, they needed to cultivate their Spiritual Infant to its peak level first, and only after that could they ensure the successful cultivation of an Imperial Soul. After they had attained the Imperial Soul, they could then break through to the Emperor Realm.

In Eunice's perspective, Rocky was only at the medium stage of the Spiritual Infant. Thus, he couldn't have had an Imperial Soul, let alone break through to the Emperor Realm.

But at that moment, Rocky was exuding an aura of the Emperor Realm, and she couldn't be mistaken. After all, there were more Emperor Realm masters in the Di Clan than in the other forces of the Ethereal Region.

However, almost all Emperor Realm masters were normally advanced in age. Rocky was the only spirit warrior that Eunice knew who could reach the Emperor Realm at such a young age.

She wondered if she was hallucinating right now, but what she was seeing looked very real, and there was only one thing that could explain what was happening. Rocky must have been hiding something monumental!

After a long time, the golden light on Rocky's body gradually dimmed. It left significant changes on his body. For instance, his wound had now fully healed, and his eyes had also recovered. At the same time, his body had stopped emitting the Emperor Realm aura from earlier, returning to its original state, and floated gently to the ground.

"Eunice? What happened?"

Rocky's eyes fluttered open as his feet touched the ground, and he appeared confused and out of sorts. He looked even more perplexed when he noticed the peculiar looks that Eunice was throwing his way. Of course, he had no idea what had happened to him just now.

"Who on earth are you?!"

Eunice abruptly grilled him, perplexed by the strange turn of events.

"What do you mean?" Rocky asked in confusion.

"Stop pretending! You are clearly a master of the Emperor Realm.

Why did you deceive me?" burst out Eunice.

She looked incredibly upset at the thought that Rocky had been lying to her.

"Me, a master of the Emperor Realm?

Are you kidding me?" Rocky answered as he shook his head, looking flabbergasted.

If he were a master of the Emperor Realm, he would have left the place ages ago.

"I can't be mistaken. I saw it with my own eyes! When you were grievously injured and unconscious just now, a power of the Emperor Realm suddenly came out from your body and cured your wound," Eunice explained firmly.

"Really? Are you sure about that?" asked Rocky. The puzzled look had disappeared from his face.

"I..." Eunice hesitated.

"Okay, I'll tell you something then.

There is indeed some kind of mysterious power hidden in my body, but it's not the power of the Emperor Realm!" admitted Rocky with a faint smile.

"I know, but are you sure it's not that kind of power?

I saw your aura just now, and it is indeed..." Eunice still couldn't believe Rocky's words.

"Check my aura carefully. Do you think it's at the Emperor Realm?"

Rocky asked with an eyebrow raised critically.

Eunice carefully tried to examine Rocky's aura and found that it had returned to normal.

With that discovery, she couldn't help but wonder about her own sanity. Maybe she had been hallucinating just now.

"Anyway, we should go. Don't we need to look for the Army-blessing Scroll?"

After saying that, Rocky turned around and quickly left.

"Hey! Wait for me!" Eunice cried out after Rocky.

She immediately followed after him, but the previous events were still imprinted onto her mind. She couldn't help staring at him intently, a perturbed expression on her face.

On the other hand, Rocky inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. 'That was close!' he thought gladly.

He suspected that the sealed divine power in his body awakened when he was on the verge of death, but he didn't expect it to happen earlier. However, it seemed that he couldn't use it directly, as it only assisted him during dire situations without his explicit consent.

After Rocky arrived at the Supreme Ether Land, the divine power in his body inexplicably disappeared. He had thought that it was gone for good, but to his surprise, the divine power didn't vanish after all. It was just hidden deep in his body as if it had been sealed.

Meanwhile, Eunice was stewing in her guilt. It was a sharp contrast to Rocky, who didn't seem to care that he had almost died. He treated it like a trivial thing because, in his mind, his life was always in some sort of danger anyway. Due to the incident, the relationship between the two of them started to change. Eunice's attitude towards Rocky became more agreeable, as she treated him better than before.

As they traveled deeper and deeper into the Spiritual Sea Region, Rocky and Eunice realized that their strength had significantly increased, and they had almost reached the advanced stage of the Spiritual Infant in just a few days. Perhaps, it was because they had absorbed the rich spiritual energy of the place. That, too, was a peculiar characteristic of the Spiritual Sea Region!

Moreover, they felt like they were getting closer and closer to the Army-blessing Scroll. The reason why they thought so was that the residual page of the Army-blessing Scroll that Eunice brought had a resonance reaction yesterday.

The Army-blessing Scroll was a combination of poems and songs. Even though the residual page had been separated from the rest, there remained a certain connection among them.

After another full day, Rocky and Eunice passed through a swamp area and entered a forest filled with ancient trees. They trod carefully along the way until the two of them found a huge tree house in the depths of the forest.

All of a sudden, the residual page manifested a fierce reaction, trembling violently in Eunice's hand.

"Could it be in that tree house?" Eunice asked eagerly.

"That's highly likely, but we still have to be careful. This tree house was probably built by someone, so it could be some master's territory," warned Rocky.

In his great experience, he knew that the possibility of a master living in seclusion there was very high.

"Could a master be living here? Then, that's good, right?

Maybe whoever it is can give us some guidance..."

Eunice smiled, looking pleased with the idea.

However, Rocky didn't think they could be so lucky, as he had already checked the house. He sensed a burst of evil and cold air spreading from it, which wasn't a good indication.

"Well, why don't we go up and have a look?" Eunice suggested cheerfully.

It seemed like she couldn't wait for Ricky, as she had already jumped up toward the spiral wood branches and was about to enter the tree house.

Seeing that, Rocky had no choice but to go after her.

Soon, the two of them entered the tree house, replaceing three rooms in total. After the two of them went into the nearest room, they saw a shabby wooden cabinet filled with various bottles containing strange herbs. Some bottles even had what looked like internal organs of corpses and beasts.

"Are you sure somebody lives here?"

Eunice asked hesitantly, seemingly disturbed by the peculiar objects inside the room.

"Who knows!" answered Rocky with an indifferent shrug.

He soon exited the room and then entered the one next to it.

The second room appeared more normal than the first one, resembling a bedroom of some kind. However, it only contained a broken bed and a table. There was not even a stool to sit on.

Seeing that nothing seemed unusual, Rocky quickly left the room and entered the third one. However, the expression on his face changed dramatically, and his body stiffened as soon as he set foot inside. "Hey, what's wrong with you?

Did you see something scary!

You coward. Ha-ha!"

Eunice was about to follow Rocky inside when she noticed his weird expression, making fun of him immediately. However, when she peered into the third room, her comely face darkened in an instant, as she suddenly understood what made Rocky react that way. She hastily rushed out, stopped by the doorway, and vomited. Her face became white as a sheet.

All kinds of human skeletons filed the third room, displayed like the spoils of war. Some of them hadn't yet fully decomposed, and their bowels and internal organs were exposed in the air. Hundreds of maggots crawled and fed on the exposed organs, and the thick smell of death and decomposing flesh hung in the air. In the center of the room stood a long stick, shrouded by a black mist, with a dark green ball on top. Blue light orbs, which seemed to be souls judging from the tortured screams and whispers coming from them, continuously flowed out from the dark green ball. Those souls struggled to escape, only to be sucked back into the ball.
