The Medallion
Chapter 1540 The Person Chosen By God

Upon seeing that, Rocky immediately flew up and entered the tree house. Then, he directly went into the room which was filled with corpses. Under the pile of bones, he noticed that a golden light was constantly shining, so he gathered his spiritual power to remove all of the bones to replace out what the source of the light was. Soon enough, he saw an ancient golden scroll with the words "Army-blessing Scroll"

written on it.

As he picked up the scroll, the residual page of the scroll that he was carrying instantly turned into a ray of golden light and merged into the entirety of the scroll. The ensuing moment, something unexpected suddenly happened. The whole scroll turned into streaks of golden light that wildly flowed into Rocky's body.

"What's going on?" Rocky was actually shocked and caught off guard because no one told him that something like that would happen.

Then, the golden light that penetrated his body overflowed and turned into lines of poems that flashed around him.

"A Song of Everlasting Sorrow... The River All Red... Dance of the Cavalry..." When he carefully read some of the lines, Rocky was utterly perplexed. He was sure that those lines actually came from the modern world that he was originally from.

'What does this mean? Is the creator of the Army-blessing Scroll also from the modern world?' Rocky couldn't help but speculate because it was the only possibility that he could think of right now. However, he was more concerned about the fact that the Army-blessing Scroll suddenly merged with him. He thought that it might have something to do with his and the creator's backgrounds. However, it was just one of the possibilities and there were still other ones.

Right now, Rocky was at a loss on how he should explain what happened to Eunice.

Eventually, the poems that twinkled around him dissipated. At the same time, a vivid vision suddenly flashed before him. In an instant, he was sent to a pyramid-like palace. There were three floors in total and he could see several words that were shining with golden light, floating on each floor.

For a while, Rocky carefully observed the poems and realized that they were arranged according to the time they were created-from modern times to ancient times. Moreover, they were specifically classified. Some of them were designed to increase marching speed, while some could increase combat effectiveness. Some could increase defense, while some could motivate the morale of an army, and even some could generate illusions. Overall, they were all significant in terms of battles.

"Now, I understand what Eunice said before. If someone with superior talent in commanding soldiers gets a hold of the Army-blessing Scroll, it will become a very helpful and powerful tool to him." That was when Rocky realized what the main function of the Army-blessing Scroll was.

For ordinary spirit warriors, the scroll would not really give them an advantage because it was primarily intended to boost a group's morale. If there was something that utilized morale the most, it was the army. Rocky actually planned to go through all the floors of the palace, but soon he found out that there was something that hindered him from reaching the higher floors. He suspected that he was not yet capable in some aspects so he had to give up.

Therefore, when he decided to leave, he just closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he had already returned to the eerie room where he was earlier.

"Tch. This is a huge problem. I still don't know how I am going to explain this to Eunice!" Rocky shook his head as he let out a bitter smile. Immediately after, he exited the house and flew down to where Eunice and Carla were waiting for him.

"So, did you replace it?" Eunice asked expectantly.

"Yes... But there's quite a problem," Rocky said hesitantly.

"Why? What happened?" Eunice couldn't help but glare at him because he was making her really nervous.

"I'm not sure what caused it, but the Army-blessing Scroll has fused into my body..." Rocky decided to answer honestly. Besides, no matter what he said, he could not change the fact that he would not be able to give the scroll physically.

"How the hell did that happen? You fused with the Army-blessing Scroll?" Eunice's eyes widened in disbelief as soon as she heard what Rocky said.

"Yes, that's true! I didn't mean it to happen. I actually don't know how it happened either," Rocky immediately explained.

"That's impossible! How could it be you? You are the person chosen by God that the Di Clan has been looking for the past hundreds of years?" It turned out that there was a greater reason for Eunice's shock than knowing that the scroll actually fused with Rocky.

"Wait a minute. What do you mean by that? What does 'being chosen by God' mean?" Rocky asked as he furrowed his brows.

"In the past, after the saint who created the Army-blessing Scroll bestowed it to the Di Clan for safekeeping, he foretold that a certain person would come and fuse himself with it, and that the person would become the savior of this world. Therefore, since then, the members of the Di Clan have always regarded the Army-blessing Scroll as the clan's most precious treasure. Moreover, we have always been waiting for the day of arrival of the person who can fuse with the scroll!" Eunice's eyes couldn't help but gleam as she talked about their clan's history. She didn't expect that she would be the first one to replace the person that they had been looking for all the time.

"Are you kidding me? How can I be the person chosen by God?" Rocky said with a bitter smile as he remembered what he had to undergo before he entered his current world. It felt strange for him but he also thought that it might not be a coincidence. He started to wonder if it was really destined that he would come to the world, but he actually didn't want to be a part of any of that. He was already tired of taking on the role of a savior. In fact, he just wanted to save Marcia and the others and bring them back to their own world. He wasn't interested in going to different worlds and experiencing countless unpleasant things all over again.

"Humph! If you're not the person chosen by God, then hand the Army-blessing Scroll over to me," Eunice said haughtily as she stretched out her hand.

"I really want to do that, but I can't... I don't know how to take it out of me," Rocky sighed helplessly.

"Then, I'm afraid that you'll have to go back to the Di Clan together with me. It doesn't matter if you're the chosen person or not. The fact remains that the scroll fused with you." Eunice clearly knew that she wouldn't be able to complete her task if she couldn't bring the Army-blessing Scroll back. Hence, she had no choice but to bring Rocky with her whether he liked it or not. As for whether Rocky was indeed the person that they were looking for, she would let the chief and the elders of the Di Clan decide on the matter once they returned.

"I don't think we have made such an agreement before." Rocky's eyes narrowed, knowing that Eunice would force her way on the matter.

"I know, but the situation has changed. Anyway, you can't do anything about it. You'll have to go back with me. That's final," Eunice responded firmly.

"Final? I didn't agree yet. What if I refuse?" Rocky replied, a bit surprised at Eunice's insistence.

"I just told you that it's not up to you to decide on that!" Losing her patience, Eunice instantly emitted a very powerful spiritual aura to show Rocky how serious she was.

"What the... You're a spirit warrior at the advanced stage?" Carla couldn't help but be surprised at Eunice's surge of strength and also at the sudden confrontation of the two.

"You're really doing this?" Rocky understood where Eunice's emotions were coming from and he actually didn't want to fight her.

"Say that you'll come back with me, or I'll need to attack and restrain you." Eunice's eyes oozed with fighting spirit, ready to take on Rocky at any time.

"Wait! Do you really need to attack each other?" Carla asked as she tried to somehow pacify the situation.

"I will not hesitate if I need to. I have to complete my task no matter what," Eunice answered sternly.

"You can do whatever you want, but I will not fight back," Rocky retorted calmly, not even fazed at the strong spiritual power that Eunice was releasing.

At the same time, Eunice didn't expect Rocky to be so stubborn. The truth was she really had no intention of fighting him. She just wanted to frighten him so that he would quietly obey her demands, but obviously, Rocky wouldn't give in that easily.

"You bastard..." Eunice angrily glared at him for a few seconds and eventually withdrew her aura.

Seeing that, Rocky was finally relieved. He was worried that Eunice would really attack him earlier.

"Hmm, am I right to assume that you two are no longer going to fight? In that case, could someone please get me a set of clothes first?" Carla said awkwardly as she still wore nothing but Rocky's white coat. Hearing that, Eunice and Rocky turned to Carla, who looked very embarrassed, and then started laughing.

After a short while, Rocky took a set of his own clothes from his Magic Spiritual Space and handed them to Carla. Although they were men's clothes, they actually looked pretty good on her because of her tall figure. After she tied her hair, she easily looked like a dashing, handsome man.☐☐
