The Medallion
Chapter 1613 Vulnerable

"Commander Isabel, we've easily broken through the Heavenly Rain Valley's front line. Let me lead an army of ten thousand troops and annihilate the army of the human race. Let's end this war quickly!" A deputy commander by the name of Luciano eagerly asked for his superior's blessing.

"I didn't expect that their defenses would crumble just like that. I don't know, it seems a little too easy." Isabel was in deep thought as she narrowed her eyes. She had an odd feeling that something was not right.

"Commander Isabel, if I may, the Heavenly Rain Valley's terrain is naturally hard to defend. The enemies didn't stand a chance from the get-go," another deputy commander chimed in. He didn't think twice of the fact that the enemy offered little to no resistance against them.

Meanwhile, when Bertram and Eunice saw the spiritual race breakthrough to the valley, they immediately led their troops on the offensive. They had patiently waited in the dark for the perfect time to attack thei foe's military camp, which was guarded by only a few since most of them were marching towards the Heavenly Rain Valley.

"Burn this place to the ground!" Bertram shouted to his men.

A few moments later, the sky was colored with an orange tinge from the fire while columns of black smoke rose above the clouds.

Isabel, who was getting ready to command her army to raid the Heavenly Rain Valley, saw the huge fire coming from their camp. Her heart dropped as soon as she realized what was going on.

"How did the human army manage to sneak into our camp? When did they sneak past us?" Isabel was fuming. She gnashed her teeth in anger and hatred. She couldn't believe they were easily played by their opponents.

Seeing their camp being burned to the ground affected the morale of the spiritual race's army. They were now on full watch, wary that the human race might have another trick up their sleeve.

But breaking the enemy's front line was an opportunity that was too good to pass up. On the other hand, if they let the human race destroy their camp, all their supplies would be lost. Even if they managed to win the war, this would not make up for their losses. Facing a difficult crossroads, the commander bit her lip in anger. In the end, she knew she had no choice but to order a deputy commander to lead ten thousand soldiers back to their base.

This reduced the number of their main army by a third.

"Commander Isabel, I'm afraid that losing so many soldiers will greatly affect our chances of winning," Luciano said.

"I know, but we have to be cautious. Even without ten thousand soldiers, we can still take control of the Heavenly Rain Valley. I'll personally lead the attack. You stay here along with five thousand troops to wait for us." For the sake of finishing the battle, Isabel took it upon herself to lead the attack on the valley.

"Yes, Commander Isabel."

She then wasted no time and led the remaining fifteen thousand members of the spiritual race into the valley.

As the spiritual race marched onwards, the human army patiently waited for them. Half of their troops were camouflaged along the edge of makeshift plank roads, waiting to catch their opponents off guard. Catapults and other weapons were mounted on top of the valley, ready to be shot as soon the enemy appeared in the distance.

"Spiritual King Basil, will the enemy be fooled?" Tucker couldn't help but ask Rocky. Sending a huge portion of their already outnumbered army to attack the army's defenses was already very risky. If the spiritual race decided to ignore this diversion and attacked them with all their might, they would surely lose the battle.

"Of course. Although they outnumber us, their commander is a very cautious person. She wouldn't think twice about sending her troops back to their base. Plus, it is very likely that she will personally lead her army into the valley in order to end the battle as soon as possible," Rocky said with much confidence as he already analyzed every possible step of their opponents.

"Well, I'll just hope that everything will go according to plan." Tucker nodded slightly.

Meanwhile, as Isabel and her troops made it inside the valley, they were shocked to see how few their opponents were. Even less than what they had imagined. Sparsely distributed troops made up their defensive line.

"This is strange. How are they so few?" As soon as she stepped inside the valley, a strange feeling immediately set on her. Although she was cautious of the oddly placed defensive works and the ring-shaped plank roads, she didn't know what to make of it.

But since they were already well inside enemy lines, it would be dishonorable for them to come back empty-handed. Plus, their enemies were severely outnumbered.

"It seems that the human race's army used a large portion of their troops to attack our base. Maybe they were hoping to make us retreat. I must admit, they are really cunning!" Isabel said with a sneer.

At the edge of the horizon, she saw Tucker striding forward towards them. He looked sharply at the commander of the spiritual race and shouted, "How dare you break into the valley? I'll make sure that you won't be able to leave!"

"Commander Wang, don't be so arrogant. Do you really think you can fight back our army with your measly troops and a bunch of strange defensive arrangements?" Isabel asked arrogantly.

"I know you are proficient in the mysterious military arrays, Commander Isabel, but I can assure you that none of that will work in the Heavenly Rain Valley." Tucker boldly bit back. Of course, it was none other than Rocky that told him to say so.

They knew that they stood no chance against the spiritual race's army in a head-on battle. But Rocky carefully devised a plan that would surely catch them off guard.

"Is that so? Then I will try the Mysterious Dragon Gateway Array!" Isabel, who was obviously irritated by her opponent's confident remarks, began building the array with all her might.

"The Mysterious Dragon Gateway Array? This woman really is skilled in making mysterious military arrays, all of which are quite powerful too." Standing behind the human army, Rocky couldn't help but praise his opponent with a playful look.

Tucker then retreated by his side, knowing full well that Rocky had a plan to deal with Isabel.

"I'll leave it to you, Spiritual King Basil," Tucker said.

Rocky didn't respond. He just nodded slightly and then ordered, "The Swimming Army, the Shield Army, and the Changing Army, join ranks!"

Since he didn't have time to teach any new array to the soldiers, Rocky could only temporarily combine the three arrays he had taught to the human race's army to form a new array.

Heeding Rocky's order, the three scattered armies quickly gathered to form the new array. The Shield Army was at the edge of the formation with the Changing Army next to them, while the Swimming Army was at the very middle. From afar, they looked like a might dragon that could soar high above the clouds.☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
