The Medallion -
Chapter 1708 Approach The Lair
"Come on. Is it revenge you want? Just walk over here and attack us," Vivian provoked openly.
"Yeah, right! You can come over and attack us if you're so brave!" Jordy shot back. Because he was an experienced leader, it would be difficult to trick him into messing up his defense array.
"Fine. We'll attack right now," Vivian declared. With a wave of her hand, she led the hundred warriors that Rocky had trained towards the guard team from the Primitive Fief. Yesterday, Rocky just taught her an art of war array and its derivative forms, so she was looking forward to testing it out.
As soon as Vivian and her team got close enough to their enemies, they changed their formation to make an attacking array and launched more attacks with vigor.
Under Vivian's guidance, the well-trained team was able to quickly break their opponents' defense.
The guards from the Primitive Fief didn't expect that Vivian and her team were powerful enough to break their defensive line in one move. Thus, they were caught off guard a little.
"Tell the rest of the members to go and create more chaos," Rocky ordered when he saw an opportunity opening before him.
Soon, the other members of the joint guard team were being led by several Spiritual Emperors onto the battlefield. They started killing their enemies the moment that they saw them.
Meanwhile, Valeria, who now wore a human skin mask, three medium stage Spiritual Emperors, and a Spiritual Emperor who had disguised herself as Valeria were still waiting for Rocky to give them the order to move.
The guard team from the Primitive Fief was not weak. After Vivian and her team broke their defense line, they were immediately intercepted by Jordy and other Spiritual Emperors. The entire battle came to a standstill.
"It's time for us to go." Rocky noticed that things had quieted down and that the attention of the people from the Primitive Fief was focused on Vivian and her team. It was their best chance to take action without being noticed.
"Valeria, when we get close to the enchanted barrier, I want you to summon the wood giant. It will act as bait and cover me as I break the enchanted barrier," Rocky said to Valeria. Valeria nodded and prepared herself.
Then, Rocky, Valeria, Valeria's fake self, and the three Spiritual Emperors tiptoed towards the entrance of the Nether Dragon King's lair.
Because Rocky and the others were wearing disguises, none of the guards from the Primitive Fief could see who they really were.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the entrance of the Nether Dragon King's lair.
At the same time, two middle level Spiritual Emperors and over a dozen Spiritual Kings who were guarding the entrance finally noticed the appearance of Rocky and the others. Soon, they were stopped.
"My name is Valeria. I'm the Godly Genius from the Flower Fief. Get out of my way or you'll regret it!" the girl who was pretending to be Valeria declared, clenching her fists.
"You're very arrogant, aren't you?" one of the middle level Spiritual Emperors shot back. His opponent was a Godly Genius but she was still weaker than he was. There was zero reason for him to take her seriously.
"Wood giant!" the girl shouted, waving her arms towards her like she was summoning something.
At the same time, Valeria, who was standing behind them, closed her eyes and gathered her spiritual power. Then, using the Spiritual Flower Technique, she called the giant out.
A moment later, wooden vines erupted from the soil and intertwined. After a few moments, a giant made of wood was formed.
Planting its two feet on the ground, it rushed towards the enchanted barrier.
"It's a wood giant!" Jordy wasn't that far away so he noticed the sudden appearance of the giant. Some surprise and fear crossed his face. He knew how powerful the giant was. If it were to attack the enchanted barrier, it might be able to break through it.
Feeling panicked, Jordy ordered two more Spiritual Emperors to walk into the giant's path and stop it.
Soon, the situation had reached another stalemate.
Because Valeria was under disguise, she didn't want to directly make a move. Instead, she ordered the giant to approach the enchanted barrier and begin to destroy it.
The two Spiritual Emperors that Jordy had deployed watched as the giant shook the enchanted barrier. They hopelessly started to attack it from behind.
But the giant was made from the spiritual wood and it had the ability to protect its body from evil. As long as the power of the cultivator who was controlling it was steady, the giant would not fall down. So the giant quickly caused as much havoc as it could for the Primitive Fief.
When he saw that their opponents were currently suppressed, Rocky used the Earth-diving Skill to approach the enchanted barrier undetected. He grabbed the Potent Force Rune and injected some spiritual power into it. Then, he pressed the rune against the enchanted barrier. A bright light shone from the middle of the enchanted barrier.
Bang!
An ear-piercing sound accompanied the light and instantly filled the area around the entrance of the lair.
The two parties were nearly knocked over from the force of the sound. A wave of strong wind that was as sharp as a knife whipped against their faces, making them cry out in pain.
A moment later, the light dissipated, and the enchanted barrier that was sealing the entrance of the Nether Dragon King's lair had disappeared.
"What?" Jordy asked, more to himself than to anyone else. He never thought that someone would be able to break the enchanted barrier he had created in one move. All the color was draining from his face. "The enchanted barrier is broken! Come with me! We have to cover Godly Genius Valeria!" Vivian ordered.
Soon, several Spiritual Emperors from her team were gathered and they started paving a clear path for Vivian to walk through.
With their remarkable strength, they were able to break through the surrounding members of the guard team from the Primitive Fief within seconds.
Vivian sprinted to the entrance of the lair and was about to meet with Valeria and others when a voice interrupted her.
"Are you trying to help your companions? In your dreams!" Jordy shouted. He might not have been able to stop them from breaking the enchanted barrier, but he could try and stop Vivian from doing what she wanted. He released some of his spiritual power and blocked Vivian and her team from moving forward.
The power behind the attack from the Spiritual Emperor at the premium stage was extraordinary. In an instant, a large number of black clouds grouped together and thunder rumbled. Vivian and her team looked up at it.
"Thunder Strike!" Jordy commanded. Several bursts of thunder rolled inside the black clouds before it fell down towards Vivian and her team.
Knowing that the situation was dangerous, Vivian and her team ran to safety. In the blink of an eye, the place where they had been standing was struck by the thunder and a gaping hole was left behind. However, the thunder didn't stop once it had struck. It kept attacking Vivian and the others, preventing them from approaching the entrance.
"I'll take care of this. You keep trying to get to Godly Genius Valeria!" Vivian knew that she had to stop Jordy and his thunder strikes, so she raised her spear and charged at him.
At the same time, the fake Valeria was running towards the entrance like they had planned.
Vivian raised her spear. Several spiritual shadows emerged from the tip and swam through the air. They dashed towards Jordy as fast as lightning.
When he saw them coming, he stopped the thunder strike, pushed his hands forward, and formed a lightning barrier in front of him.
Bang! Bang!
Several spiritual shadows hit the lighting barrier one after another and fizzled out.
"Ha-ha! Miss Vivian, you are no match for me. I advise you to stop right now or you will be killed!" Wearing a sneer on his face, Jordy turned and chased after the fake Valeria. Vivian couldn't let Jordy catch up with her, so she ran after him.000000
