The Medallion
Chapter 1716 Return To The Lair

Rocky refocused his mind to the task at hand. He knew that it was pointless to think about other things now. He needed to survive first. Taking several deep breaths, he tried to calm down and reduce the impact resulting from the fusion of several forces inside his body.

Soon, drops of sweat were sliding off the tip of his nose and his face had turned as pale as a ghost. And the fusion that was happening inside of him still showed no signs of stopping. Currently, Rocky's body was the home of a huge battlefield. Several forces were constantly attacking each other.

And he could do nothing about it because he had zero control over the forces.

Six hours ticked by.

By now, Rocky's spiritual sense was blurred and exhaustion was consuming him. However, the forces were still strong and battling against each other relentlessly. He couldn't throw in the towel yet. "How did my master's body have so many forces inside of it?" the martial spirit said, speaking for the first time in a while. A mixture of hesitation and concern was on its face. But it was too late. The effects of the Spiritual Energy Gathering Pill could not be stopped, so he had to just stand there and watch it happen.

More time passed and Rocky was completely numb. Fortunately, his body was slowly adapting to the forces. A lot of changes were happening inside of him.

Soon, Rocky's skin shone so clean that it looked like it had been washed by a sacred power.

At the same time, he began to regain his energy.

After a while, the forces in his body became less violent and began to merge.

Rocky felt rumblings in his lower abdomen. It appeared that a strange new force was starting to form. It contained the characteristics of the original forces and some new ones from the fusion. "Master, your strength has increased. Now you are a half-god," the martial spirit announced.

In other words, Rocky now had the power of a half-god. It was not the real strength, but it was a foundation. If he continued to work on it, he could reach the Half-god Realm, which was a level higher than the realm of the Godly Genius. And only the candidate god could achieve that.

Currently, Rocky's strength was much more powerful than one could imagined.

It was at least equivalent to that of a high-level Spiritual Emperor.

Rocky had managed to not only break through to the Emperor Realm, but also advance three levels. That type of improvement was extremely rare, even for a member from the Shura Race.

Of course, a lot of it was thanks to the Spiritual Energy Gathering Pill. The divine treasure was incredible.

The process had some danger to it, but it was worth the risk.

Rocky inhaled deeply and stood up to look at the martial spirit.

"Congratulations, master. You have successfully condensed your spirit and broke through to the Emperor Realm..." the martial spirit said in a hurry.

"Are you sure you didn't do it on purpose? Were you trying to harm me?" Rocky asked, rolling his eyes at the martial spirit.

"No! Of course not. I just wanted to confirm that you have completely inherited the power of the former master and that you are qualified to use the divine treasures in this palace..." "Am I qualified now?"

"Yes!"

"Are there any restrictions for the use of the treasures in this palace?"

"Yes. The palace was created using the power of the god, so under normal circumstances, if one doesn't reach the realm of god, they can't use the treasures here. But the former owner transformed this space. Now, one only needs to reach the Half-god Realm to use the treasures. You have already done that. You won't be able to make use of all the treasures, but you can still use a small number of low-grade divine treasures," the martial spirit explained.

"Can you tell me more about the low-grade divine treasures? I want to know as much as I can." Before Rocky used anything else in the palace, he wanted to fully understand it.

"There're actually too many low-grade divine treasures to show you one by one. Just tell me what you need, and I will prepare the corresponding divine treasures for you. There is just one more thing. There are restrictions on the use of the divine treasures. For example, the low-grade divine treasures can only be used once a day..."

"Really?"

"Yes. That is all you are capable of with your current strength. Just one use will drain your energy. As for the middle-grade divine treasures, they can only be used once every three days. And the high grade divine treasures can only be used once every ten days at minimum..."

"Okay. Are there any other restrictions?" Rocky asked after nodding.

"No."

"Okay. I'm going to leave now." Now that Rocky had a rough understanding of the situation, he left the Divine Treasure Land.

When he reached the hall, Rocky turned to leave but something stopped him in his tracks. The golden ball of light that was in the center of the hall had disappeared.

He searched the hall with his eyes but did not see any suspicious auras. He narrowed his eyes. The ball of light could not have disappeared for no reason. Was someone monitoring him in the hall?

If so, who was it? Rocky was curious, but he wasn't in the mood to continue investigating. He knew that Valeria was still fighting alone in the Nether Dragon King's lair. He needed to replace a way to get back to her.

So, he departed from the hall and exited the Holy Sun Palace.

"Master..." the Wind Monster greeted him in a slow, respectful voice when he saw Rocky emerge.

"I have learned the secret of the Shura Race's royal family," Rocky told him.

"I hope you can carry out the unfulfilled wish..."

"I will. I believe I can avenge your former master. I do have one question for you though. Are there other people in the Holy Sun Palace?" Rocky asked.

"Other people? I don't think so. Since my master left, you're the only person I've seen..." Shock was written all over the Wind Monster's face.

"Really?" Rocky frowned. A mysterious man who could freely enter and leave the Holy Sun Palace might be the key to solving the remaining mysteries.

"Wind Monster, I need to leave. Tell me how to return to the Nether Dragon King's lair," Rocky said.

"Okay. I'll bring you to the exit now. By the way, the Nether Dragon King is the guardian beast of the entrance of the holy land. It is also the descendant of my former master's mount. Please don't hurt it when you meet it," the Wind Monster said.

"Okay."

After that, the Wind Monster lifted Rocky onto his shoulder. Then, they left the Holy Sun Palace and headed for the exit of the holy land.

Before long, they had reached another cliff. It had a whirlpool of power in the gap.

"You can use this whirlpool to return to the Nether Dragon King's lair," the Wind Monster explained.

"Do you want to come with me?" Rocky asked.
