Chapter 1779 The Godly Geniuses Met
"The Godly Genius of the Ghost Fief... Odin. At last, we meet again. I have been waiting for this moment for so long!" the black figure greeted from the darkness. Then, he slowly walked out and unleashed an oppressive aura, likening him to a king that ruled the world.
"Israel, I knew it was you..." Hearing the familiar voice, Rocky instantly guessed who it was. Moreover, based on the domineering aura of the black figure, he was so sure that it was none other than the Godly Genius of the Primitive Fief.
"Wow! I did not expect that you will still remember me. I must admit that I'm honored!" Israel responded as if he was flattered, but it was actually rather sarcastic.
"You really decided to show up before me this soon? It seems that you cannot wait to deal with me, huh?" Rocky let out a sneer, not even fazed by the fact that the strongest Godly Genius had come for him. "Ha-ha! Don't be absurd. If I really wanted to make a move against you, I did not have to wait until now," Israel retorted, stating things a bit vaguely.
"What does that mean?" Rocky could not help but raise his brows, discerning that Israel might have planned something else.
"Well, let me get straight to the point. I am not here to kill you today. However, I will give you a proposal that you will not be able to refuse." "Oh, really? Then, let's hear it."
"I want you to join hands with me. We will take advantage of this Spiritual Emperor Contest to lure out and eliminate all of the other Godly Geniuses. After that, we can finally have a fair fight just between the two of us," Israel declared bluntly.
"I see. That is indeed interesting and difficult to refuse. But something is puzzling me. Why would you choose me? What are you going to gain from it? All of us know that I am the weakest among the nine Godly Geniuses. If I were you, I would have chosen between Drew, Quentin, or even Gloria. They are better than me in all aspects," Rocky replied, trying to sound like he was very inferior to the others. "To be totally honest, I really don't see anyone matching my strength. Even if they all worked together to fight against me, I wouldn't go down that easily. So, I don't see the need to form an alliance with either of them. But you are different. You seem to be inferior to the other Godly Geniuses on the surface, but I can see through you. You may be able to deceive them but not me. I don't exactly know the limitation of your capabilities, but I'm sure that you are not as feeble as you want us to think," Israel uttered while scoffing. He had already been suspicious of Rocky since the time that he was able to subdue the Nether Dragon King. After all, even Israel himself failed to defeat it. Hence, he became sure that Rocky was definitely not the weakest among the Godly Geniuses. In fact, Israel speculated that he was the type that wanted to hide his real strength so that others would underestimate him. Then, after carefully observing his brilliant performances during the first three rounds of the contest, Israel became more certain about his assumptions.
Of course, not only he had these kinds of thoughts. The other Godly Geniuses had already harbored some doubts about the extent of Rocky's strength and abilities.
Moreover, since they could not help but assume that Rocky was just hiding his real strength, they wanted to discover and confirm how strong he really was. Hence, a head-on confrontation against him would be inevitable.
Therefore, upon meticulously planning his actions, Israel invited Rocky to join hands with him. This way, he could use Rocky to lure the other Godly Geniuses out. At the same time, he might be able to have a clearer grasp of his strength. Then, later on, he would have all the necessary information and advantages to eliminate all of his opponents.
"I want to say that I'm flattered to hear these things from you. However, I can also see through you, and I know exactly what you are thinking. You just want to use me as bait to attract the other Godly Geniuses right?" Rocky said straightforwardly.
"Ha-ha! Well, you really are smart. Yes, I don't need to hide it. That is what I want to happen." Deeming that Rocky had completely seen through him, Israel did not even try to deny it.
"If I refuse you, I don't think you will let me go. Is that right?" Rocky asked while slightly shaking his head.
"I'm glad you understand. You only have two choices to make. You'll either join hands with me, or you'll refuse and die by my hands." All of a sudden, the smile on Israel's face was wiped off and his eyes became rather cold.
"Well, we both know that it's not convenient to fight here," Rocky uttered. Although they were inside the cave right now, the possibility of other participants showing up anytime was still high.
"Oh, you don't have to worry about that. The moment you came in, I set up an unbreakable barrier outside of the cave. So, if you wish to fight me, no one will disturb us," Israel stated nonchalantly.
"I see. You really are prepared for this moment, huh?" "Of course. It is the most basic tactic-being prepared at all times.
So, I expect that you will make a wise choice, Odin." Israel let out a cunning smile, confident that Rocky had no choice but to accept his proposal.
"All right. I also have to be honest with you. The truth is I'm not really interested in the battle between the Godly Geniuses. With that said, I have no intention of fighting you guys to the death. However, how about I make a counterproposal?" Rocky asked out of nowhere.
"A counterproposal? And what would that be?" Israel raised an eyebrow, not expecting that Rocky would suddenly make such a statement.
"Don't worry. It is very simple. I will help you by acting as bait to lure out the other Godly Geniuses. However, that is where my participation stops. I won't cooperate with you into battling them. So, any confrontation between you and them will have nothing to do with me," Rocky briefly explained.
"Well, it is indeed simple, and it doesn't sound so bad." Israel could already speculate that Rocky was worried about being betrayed by him the moment they had already defeated the other Godly Geniuses. Bu after careful considerations, Israel thought that the suggestion was still favorable for him.
"Additionally, I need you to guarantee me that I can smoothly pass the fourth round. These are my only terms. If you are fine with them, then I assure you that I will do the end of my bargain," Rocky declared with a straight face.
After hearing this, Israel thought that the terms were actually reasonable, so he had no reason to refuse. It might not be exactly the way he wanted it originally, but this setup would not have any negative impac on his interests. Thus, upon making some critical deliberations, Israel concluded that the plan was beneficial for him and would not contribute to any downside.
However, he still had that feeling, saying that there might be some hidden motive behind Rocky's proposal. After all, it seemed too good to be true; but it was also too tempting to refuse.
Then, a few moments later, he finally decided to agree. Above all, his primary goal was to eradicate all the other Godly Geniuses as soon as possible. Therefore, he could take care of other problems afterward. "Fine. It's a deal. I hope you won't go back on your word. Otherwise, you should already know that you will suffer dire consequences." Israel agreed and left a warning just in case Rocky was planning some underhanded tricks.
"Yeah, you can trust me. I am a man of my word." "Now that our agreement is already settled, I think you should let me in on your plans.
How are you going to lure the other Godly Geniuses out?" Israel asked at once. Of course, he wanted some assurance that Rocky could really pull off his task.
"Oh, that? It's just easy. At this point, I have already confirmed the secret identities of some other Godly Geniuses, such as Drew and Quentin. Thus, it won't be hard for me to lure them into a trap," Rocky replied, immediately showing off his cards.
"I see. No wonder you had the guts to offer such a proposal just now. I think I still underestimate you. It seems that you are already prepared to negotiate with me once we meet." Israel could not help but be surprised as he realized that Rocky must have already guessed that he might appear before him sooner or later. Hence, Rocky had already come up with a perfect plan if ever it really happened.
"Well, even if you did not appear before me to offer a proposal, sooner or later, someone has to make a move to break this deadlock. I also think that it's better to take action now than continue being passive. And since most of the Godly Geniuses want to deal with me first, I have to be fully prepared for a tactic that could turn the tables," Rocky replied with a shrug.
"In that case, let's cut the crap and start putting things into motion. Take this with you. If you ever meet the other Godly Geniuses, you can instantly contact me through it. I will be there immediately." Then, Israel took out a red crystal and handed it over to Rocky.
After receiving it, Rocky nodded and immediately put the crystal stone away.
"I guess I should get going now." Rocky then cupped his hands and eventually left.
As soon as Rocky disappeared, two figures suddenly emerged from the dark.
"Godly Genius, can we really believe in him?" one of the figures immediately asked.
"Of course, I don't totally trust him. As he said, I should always have a backup plan just in case. However, at this moment, he is the most suitable one to attract the other Godly Geniuses. Therefore, even though we can't fully trust him, we still have to rely on him," Israel said as he let out a frown. Then, he immediately changed the topic and asked, "How is it going on your end? Have you arranged everything already?"
Then, with a burst of devilish laughter, the other figure responded, "Yes, everything's ready. You don't have to worry about anything. Soon enough, the Spiritual Emperors of both the human race and the spiritual race will be welcomed by a big surprise!"
