The Million-Dollar Heart (Percival and Vivienne) -
Chapter 1151
When they suddenly called out Leopold's name, he couldn't help but laugh - that's just how he is when he's speechless.
"Me, handsome and dashing? How does that even compare to this little monkey?" He hadn't finished his sentence when he caught Griffin's eye and swallowed his words. "Actually, he does look a bit like me!" Griffin nodded in satisfaction, "Like father, like son, as they say."
What the wife says goes, and Leopold knew his job was just to agree.
Vivienne could hardly contain her laughter at this duo, imagining what their child would turn into.
As they watched the child sleeping peacefully, Griffin had a sudden spark of inspiration. "Since we're all here, why don't we think of a name for him? We can't just keep calling him 'hey you,' can we?" Vivienne perked up at the idea, "Sure, any thoughts?"
After a moment of serious thought, Griffin responded, "We need a name that screams, 'Wow, that's so poetic.' What do you think?"
Vivienne and Percival didn't mind; after all, a child's name is up to the parents. As long as they liked it, it was fine by them.
"That's fine by me. What are you thinking?" Leopold, trying not to laugh, looked over at the child and shook his head. How was he supposed to come up with a poetic name looking at this face?
All he could think of were monkeys...
Vivienne caught Leopold's troubled look and could already picture their lively family life in a few years.
"I've got it!" Griffin suddenly snapped her fingers, almost waking the child.
The couple's antics were hilarious - two peas in a pod, now bound in marriage.
"How about Brayden?" Griffin asked enthusiastically.
Vivienne almost choked on her drink, struggling to imagine the child's future reaction to his name.
That name was indeed bold!
"Is it not good?" Griffin looked disappointed at the lack of response, but before Leopold could comfort her, she continued, "That's the best 'CEO' name I could come up with after a long search. You know, like Maximus? If not, we could go with something like Skyler or Benjamin!"
Vivienne could feel a vein throbbing in her forehead. Christian, Benjamin, and 'CEO' names like Skyler - was she really hoping for her child to become a CEO?
The more Griffin spoke, the more Leopold realized something was off. But to keep up her spirits shortly after childbirth, he decided to go along with it. Seeing Griffin's enthusiasm only grow, Vivienne intervened, "If we're looking for something poetic, why not consider names inspired by poetry?" "Poetry, yes!" Leopold immediately agreed, "Our child will surely be a scholar!"
Griffin, taking the suggestion seriously, pondered for a moment.
Unable to decide, Griffin looked to Vivienne for ideas, "Do you have any suggestions?"
"What about Gordon? It's poetic and strong," Vivienne suggested.
Leopold eagerly agreed, a stark contrast to the 'CEO' names earlier.
Quickly discarding her previous ideas, Griffin warmed to the name Gordon, "Gordon Sterling. It has such a nice ring to it!"
Seeing Griffin finally on board, Vivienne relaxed. They had managed to steer clear of the 'CEO' names.
"Gordon Sterling, what a wonderful name!" Griffin mused, already imagining registering the name at the town hall.
As Vivienne prepared to leave, she gave Griffin some parting advice, "Take it easy for the next few days. Stick to a bland diet." Griffin asked Leopold to see Vivienne out.
At the door, Leopold awkwardly thanked her for her help, "Vivienne, we really appreciate everything."
"No need for formalities," Vivienne's smile froze.
Leopold struggled to replace the right words, and the atmosphere grew tense.
Percival stepped in to lighten the mood, "Why the formality? You've been a great help over the years. No need to feel troubled."
Vivienne huffed, "Seems like someone's grown wings. Let's go, leave him to his formalities."
As Vivienne and Percival's car disappeared, Leopold hadn't even had the chance to react.
Returning to the room, he found everyone fussing over Griffin.
"Have you eaten? Does it hurt anywhere? Speak up if you're uncomfortable," they bombarded her with concern.
"Where's Leopold at a time like this?" they wondered, unaware he'd just been outside, bidding goodbye to their guests.
Leopold had barely reached the
hospital room's doorway when he
heard Godfrey's authoritative voice booming, his cane tapping a rhythmic warning on the floor.
Without hesitation, Leopold pushed the door open and entered, as Griffin quickly attempted to clarify the situation to his family, "Hey, hey, no, I just asked him to drive Vivienne and the others home. It wouldn't t be fair
to make them wait here for so long,
right?"
"Grandpa, Mom, Dad," Leopold greeted his elders upon entering, setting a basket of fruit on the table.
The family had gathered around Griffin, with a child sleeping quietly on one side, epitomizing peace and tranquility.
"Have you thought of a name for the
child yet? It was only then that
Godfrey remembered his granddaughter had given birth today. He moved closer to glimpse the wrinkled bundle of joy.
Naming was a significant affair for the older generation, and Griffin immediately caught on to his grandfather's hint.
"We've decided on Gordon," he announced.
A flicker of approval passed through Godfrey's eyes. "A strong, enduring name, as steadfast as the mountains under a clear sky." "Exactly! Grandpa, you got it right away. You really know your stuff," Griffin remarked, his playful nature shining through.
Godfrey couldn't help but laugh at Griffin's mischievous demeanor. "Did you come up with that name?"
"Actually, no." Griffin chuckled sheepishly. "Vivienne thought of it. My initial idea was something else."
Godfrey exchanged a knowing look with those around him, "And what was your idea?"
"Me?" Griffin perked up, clearly enjoying the moment. "Thunderstrike!"
The room seemed to echo with a mix of amusement and disbelief.
