The girl was at a loss for words when accused. It was true that she admired Logan's skills and had once dreamt of being mentored by him. Yet, she had no intention of defending Logan's supposed actions. She had simply considered the possibilities, not wanting to accuse anyone without evidence, especially someone she looked up to.

Seeing her speechless, another girl, smugly raised an eyebrow, "Hey, Four-Eyes, I know you're dying for Logan to mentor you, but we have to stand against people with questionable morals like him!" "To be honest, Faye has been nothing but good to us, teaching us everything she knows. Do you really want to be on the wrong side of history here?"

The girl felt the weight of several gazes upon her.

Feeling cornered, she reluctantly nodded, "You're right. We should take a stand!"

Just as she finished her passionate declaration, the sound of knocking startled all the interns.

"Who's in there? It's work hours, open up right now!" Logan's voice boomed, causing a wave of panic.

None of them had anticipated that the very subject of their discussion would come knocking the next second.

They all began to worry if their discussion had been overheard, fearing the worst.

Normally, Logan wouldn't get this upset over minor slacking, but today's agitation suggested he might have heard everything.

Despite the continued knocking, no one wanted to open the door, fearful of facing Logan's wrath, remembering how he had dealt with Barbara and the assistant dean.

After a moment, with no one answering the door, Logan tried to keep his impatience in check, "I'm giving you one more chance to open this door. Otherwise, I'll get the dean involved, whether you're a doctor or a new intern. Manage your time wisely and don't test my patience."

The door was promptly opened, and the girl with glasses hesitated to meet Logan's eyes.

To their surprise, not only Logan but Faye was also there, standing right behind him.

Seeing her own interns emerge from within, Faye's expression soured, indicating they hadn't taken her lessons to heart.

Before Logan could speak, Faye stepped forward, visibly disappointed, "What have I always told you? Why are you hiding here instead of being at your posts, especially at a time like this?"

Realizing the gravity of the situation, the girl with glasses asked Faye, "Ms. Faye, what happened?"

"Patient in bed thirteen started causing trouble. He fell while getting water, breaking his leg. It was our responsibility, and we weren't there," Faye explained.

The interns gasped. The patient in bed thirteen was notoriously difficult, and his family was even worse. Now, they were directly responsible for this mess.

The hospital had a policy allowing interns to gain hands-on experience to avoid the pitfalls of mere observation. They were expected to perform nearly all tasks short of surgery, under supervision. Faye had thoroughly briefed them on the patient's background, daily requirements, and temper, reminding them repeatedly who was responsible each day.

Yet, despite her diligent reminders, tragedy still struck.

Faye couldn't pinpoint where things went wrong as she had momentarily left them to their own devices.

"Why were you slacking off here

instead of being at your posts? Is gossip really that important?" Logan scolded them, "What happened today falls under your responsibility. No one's here to clean up your mess. Now, go apologize to the patient in bed thirteen."

The girl who had been so confident before now looked pale, realizing she was responsible for the patient in bed thirteen but had forgotten entirely.

Her background offered her no leverage in this situation.

"What are you waiting for? Or do you need us to carry you there?" Logan's sharp gaze prompted the girl to follow him and Faye to the patient's room, her mind racing for the right words. Before they entered the room, the sound of commotion was already audible. The patient's family had arrived, causing a scene.

Curious onlookers from other rooms peeked out, eager to witness the drama unfold.

The crowd only emboldened the patient's family.

An elderly woman dramatically threw herself to the floor, wailing, "Oh, the suffering of my son! No one here cares for him, and now his leg is broken after just healing his hand. The doctors are taking forever, probably unwilling to compensate us!"

Logan, with a stern face, approached the door, casting a shadow over the woman.

"Who's the doctor here? Where's Ms. Faye? I want her out here now!" The elderly woman, unfamiliar with Logan, sensed he wasn't someone to mess with but insisted on confronting someone she thought she could manipulate.

Faye stepped forward upon hearing her name, "I'm here."

Seeing Faye, the woman's demeanor shifted as if spotting prey, attempting to lunge at her.

Logan, sensing her intent, quickly pulled Faye back, "Please, if you have something to say, stay where you are."

The woman's attempt was thwarted by Logan, leading her to fall and resume her wailing.

"This is outrageous! Now the doctors dare to assault us? Is this how you treat a grieving mother? My son hasn't even woken up, and you're already neglecting us?"

"Who the heck are you? I'm looking

for Dr. Carter who's in charge of my son's care. What business do you have here? Got any skin in the

game? Mrs. Johnson looked net

to tear Logan apart, her expression

The intern, who had been staying as far back as possible, didn't dare move an inch closer. Mrs. Johnson's glare was enough to freeze anyone in their tracks, let alone a fresh graduate with no real power or influence. "What's broken can be fixed, including your son's leg. What exactly do you want?" Logan asked, his brow furrowed as he faced Mrs. Johnson.

At Logan's words, Mrs. Johnson's demeanor shifted from hostile to greedily hopeful. She turned her gaze to Faye, "Our demands are simple. Since this mishap occurred under your hospital's watch, it's only right that you take full responsibility." "And our terms are straightforward: I want her to marry my son."
