The Minx
Chapter 13

The next day it felt like my head had been repeatedly thrown into a brick wall. I groaned and gingerly touched my temple. I could literally feel it pounding. I rolled over gently and reached out a hand to search for the comforting warmth I knew Aspen would bring. It wasn't there. I carefully peeked an eye open to replace the bed was empty. I sighed and curled up into a ball as the feeling of loneliness crept into me. I let my eyes close back in an attempt to stop the pounding in my head. when it didn't work, I gave up and dressed in sweats before slowly making my way down the stairs.

"You look like you died last night," Avery said way too loud. I cringed and glared at her.

"Thanks," I muttered hoarsely. My throat felt scratchy and hot. She gave a light chuckle. "you're welcome," she said even louder. I wanted to punch her in the face at this point, but instead, I just walked past her to the kitchen. I rummaged through the cabinets until I found the Advil. I downed a handful with a glass of water and waited for it to kick in.

"What happened to you?" Yelang asked, making my head hurt more. I groaned and looked up at her.

"Hangover, so please stop talking so loud," I asked. she giggled before she agreed. She sat next to me quietly. "Where's Aspen?" I asked, letting my curiosity get the better of me. She sighed and rested her cheek on her hand.

"Alpha's Ben in and out of meetings all morning. apparently there's some hunter, who goes by the name Red Devil, going around terrorizing other packs," Yelang explained quietly, which I was grateful for. I hummed thoughtfully before I thanked her. When I felt the affects of the medicine start to kick it, I went to replace Aspen. I tried the office first. I didn't bother knocking. I just barged in to replace Aspen sitting on one couch facing another couch that held three men. I admit, I was acting slightly childish, but I was cranky and hungover. the men stopped talking and looked at me as I closed the door back. I didn't even care. I strode over to Aspen ad plopped down on his lap. I cured myself into a ball as his arms went around me.

"As I was saying gentlemen-" Aspen tried to continue.

"She can't be in here for this," one of the snapped. Aspen immediately started growling at the man.

"My mate, my office, my rules," he growled. I groaned lightly and buried my head in his chest. He rubbed my back gently as he calmed down slightly. "Now... as I was saying before I was rudely interrupted, you have my pack's support again msg this Devil hunter person. and in return, we ask for your support, should anything happen," Aspen said.
