Chapter 3 The Truth

The old man pondered for a moment, then suddenly chuckled.

"This is getting interesting... Maybe Alexander will surprise me after all.

"Tell Augustine and Anthony that I don't care how the three brothers duke it out. But Ashley is not just Alexander's daughter; she's my granddaughter. No one lays a finger on her.

"Since Jane is so blind, let Ava Blackburn marry Alexander. She's the president of the Saint Group, and with Alexander as chairman, they can run the business together as a power couple." Anne replied, "Understood!"

She felt a shiver run down her spine. She realized that she and Ava were now irrevocably tied to Alexander's fate.

The wheels of destiny were already in motion, and the brutal, bloody battle for the Godfather's inheritance was about to begin.

...

At the hospital's billing office, Alexander walked in, a suitcase in hand, ready to pay for his daughter's surgery.

Just then, he spotted Jane and her lover, Ryan, storming toward him, fury written all over their faces.

"Alexander! This is all your doing! How dare you bully my mom and me!" Jane shouted, her voice dripping with indignation. Ryan stepped forward, his fists clenched. "You're dead meat, Alexander!"

Alexander couldn't help but smirk.

"Jane, open your eyes. The surgery cost 500 thousand dollars, and guess what? I've got the cash now!"

As Jane's expression shifted from anger to shock, Alexander opened the suitcase and hurled both it and the money at Ryan.

Green bills flew through the air like confetti.

Jane gasped, covering her mouth in disbelief. Just a short while ago, Alexander had been a broke loser. She thought, "Where on earth did he get 500 grand?"

"Wow, Alexander, how did you suddenly come up with 500 thousand dollars? Did you rob a bank or something? Or maybe you're dealing drugs?" Ryan sneered, trying to mask his discomfort.

Being hit in the face with cash in front of Jane was humiliating for him.

Alexander regarded Ryan with a cold, detached stare, as if he were looking at a corpse. "Ryan, I know everything.

"You were the one who hid the drugs to frame me, which got me fired. I could have you dead with just a phone call, but I want you to suffer first.

"You guys in the Hawkins family are worth hundreds of millions, right? I'll make sure your family goes bankrupt. I want you to feel the sting of losing everything, to struggle in pain and regret before you die. That'll satisfy my rage! "Now get lost, or I swear I'll end you!"

With that, Alexander turned on his heel and walked away, leaving Ryan stunned.

Ryan's heart raced as he exclaimed, "Jane, that guy must be packing heat. I'm going to teach him a lesson soon!"

Jane stood there, bewildered, her mind racing.

"Where did he get that money?" Jane thought, a wave of regret washing over her as her face turned pale.

Everything that had just happened was too shocking to process.

"Have I really made a mistake? Have I lost something precious?"

Seeing Jane's expression, Ryan felt a surge of jealousy as he pieced together her thoughts.

He forced a calm smile and said, "Jane, don't let him fool you. If he really had any skills, he wouldn't be in this mess. How dare he threaten me?"

Jane sighed, feeling a bit relieved.

She mused, "He's right; it doesn't make sense!

Why would Alexander hide his strength for five years?"

She scoffed, saying, "Looks like that money either came from drug dealers or high-interest loans. He's still just a loser."

With that thought, she pushed aside her earlier regret and cozied up to Ryan.

Meanwhile, Alexander stood at the window of the intensive care unit, gazing at his daughter, who was peacefully asleep. Guilt washed over him, mingling with dreams of a better future.

He whispered, "Ashley. I swear I'll become the Godfather. No one will ever hurt you again!

"All those who have wronged us will pay dearly!"

Tears welled up in his eyes as he smiled tenderly, his heart brimming with love for his little girl.

Alexander pulled out his phone and dialed Anne.

"Ms. Hollister, gather the best doctors and security personnel at the hospital. I want to ensure my daughter's health and safety at all costs.

"And make sure that Ryan's reputation is dragged through the mud in front of everyone in Loscity. I want him to end up with nothing-worse than a homeless person!"

Within moments, a bombshell dropped on Loscity, sending shockwaves through the community.

In just three days, the Saint Group was hosting a grand ball, where they would select a new Vice President for financial investments.

The news spread like wildfire, and suddenly, all eyes were on the upcoming event. Everyone wanted a shot at the Vice President position, a chance to soar to new heights. Families with even a hint of influence were buzzing with excitement, eager to seize this golden opportunity.

Invitations to the ball became the hottest ticket in town-everyone wanted one, and they were nearly impossible to come by!

Jane and Ryan were practically vibrating with excitement; their golden opportunity had finally arrived.

The Hawkins family, being long-standing partners of the Saint Group, were practically guaranteed invitations to the upcoming ball.

Jane, her excitement palpable, exclaimed, "Darling, I'm right behind you on this one!"

Ryan, fueled with determination, pumped his fist in the air.

"I'm going to land that Vice President position, no doubt about it!"
