Chapter 52

Jessica POV

The next morning Alpha Colton and I had breakfast together, before heading into the forest for a run. I was a little bit nervous. It’s been so long since I last shifted, I can only imagine, that it might be a little painful this time. I’m glad he will be with me, his presence is always so comforting.

“You nervous?” He asked, as we reached the tree line.

“A little bit, it’s been a while, I’m not really sure what to expect.” I replied.

“I’ll be here with you, we will get through it together.” He said, with an encouraging smile.

“Thank you.” I replied, before walking behind one of the thick trees to strip out of my clothing.

I stood there completely naked, imagining myself in wolf form. That’s when I started to feel the transformation. My bones snapped and elongated, while fur sprouted along my skin. My claws came out of my nail beds and I felt my canines brush against my bottom l*p. The pain was intense, but still not as bad as my first shift. It was manageable. It took me longer then usually, but after several minutes, I was finally in my wolf form.

When I looked up, I saw Alpha Colton had come to check on me. He was probably worried, because it was taking so long. He looked concerned, but I didn’t miss the admiration in his eyes, when he saw my wolf.

I walked over to him and nuzzled his neck, letting him know that I’m ok. He responded by licking my snout. I giggled to myself, as I felt his sloppy wolf k**s.

I took a step back, so I could take a minute to admire his wolf. He was huge, quite a bit bigger than I was. He was pure black and the power radiating from him was intense.

He was taking me in at the same time. My wolf, Jasmine, is a decent size wolf, being that I have Beta b***d. She’s black, but has dark silver dipped paws and ears. She also has a few silver patches along her torso. I love her colours they are definitely unique and at night, the silver shines in the moonlight like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

While he was busy checking me out, I took the opportunity and ran off at a full sprint. My wolf was extremely fast and agile, she knows how to use her skills, against a physically stronger opponent.

I heard Hector howl, immediately after I took off running and knew he would be hot on my tail.

I glanced over my shoulder and sure enough, he was chasing me. I picked up speed wanting to give him a run for his money. The excitement and adrenaline was coursing through my body.

Jasmine, my wolf, was having the time of her life, being free to do as she pleased. She moved through the trees like it was her own personal obstacle course.

I could hear heavy Paws hitting the ground and knew that Alpha Colton was gaining on us. I saw a creek up ahead, that we were quickly approaching. At the very last second, I veered to the right, completely changing directions. Not even 5 seconds later, I heard a splash and I snickered to myself. Alpha Colton was going so fast, that he wasn’t able to stop himself before he reached the creek.

I looked back and saw him climbing out of the creek, before shaking off the excess water. It didn’t take long, for him to continue chasing after me.

I was starting to get tired, I guess I lost a bit of stamina after not being in wolf form for so long. I knew I was unintentionally slowing down.

Before I even realized what was happening, I was tackled to the ground. I looked up to see Hector standing above me, dripping water all over my fur. He was looking down with so much intensity. A light possessive growl left his chest, as I struggle to get out from under him. He laid his entire body over mine, completely trapping me. I let out a huff and stopped struggling. There’s no way I was getting out of his hold.

Jessica POV

Wolves are dominant by nature and they mate for life. They love a good chase, especially when it’s to show, that they’re a worthy partner. It was very clear that Hector was an Alpha, just the way he presented himself, screamed dominant and possessive. Yet with me, he also had a gentle side. He could of easily made me submit by grabbing ahold of my neck with his jaw, that’s often how wolves do things, but that’s not what he did. He simply used his body weight, which didn’t hurt me at all, I knew he was being careful.

He finally released his hold on me and I nipped at his paw, playfully. We rolled around licking and nipping at each other, just having some fun. It was very clear that Jasmine and Hector were perfect for one another. Jasmine was acting like a love sick pup, rolling on her back, practically screaming for his attention. Hector wasn’t any better, I looked liked a drowned rat, our fur was covered in his slobber from all the times he licked us.

After a couple hours of us romping around, Alpha Colton, got up and motioned with his head for me to follow him. He started to make his way towards where we had undressed. I huffed, not really wanting this to end. He was being so carefree with me and I was having the best of time. I really didn’t like that he was leaving later today, even if it was only for a night. I already missed him, just thinking about it.

When we reached the spot where our clothing was stashed. I went behind the tree and shifted into my human form. It was much easier shifting back and it didn’t hurt nearly as bad.

I quickly got dressed, before stepping out from behind the tree. Alpha Colton was standing there, waiting for me. He was only wearing a pair of sweat pants, his T-shirt was in his hands. Goddess, is he intentionally trying to tease me? If so, it’s working.

“How was that?” He asked, while throwing his shirt over his shoulder, I was trying not to ogle him, at least not be obvious about it, but it was proving to be difficult. I knew he saw me checking him out, because of the slight smirk he had on his face. I decided to ignore it, I didn’t want to embarrass myself.

“It was amazing! Jasmine had so much fun and I think she’s head over heals for Hector.” I replied, with a smile.

“Happy to hear that it’s mutual. Hector won’t stop talking about how perfect she is.” He joked, while shaking his head and letting out a deep chuckle. I couldn’t help but look at his defined chest. The laughter made it rise and fall, making his pecks look even more pronounced.

“Let’s head back. Unfortunately I have some business to take care of, before I leave for the Stone Cold Pack.” He said, sounding irritated with the fact that he had to leave.

“Ok.” I replied and we started to walk back.

“What’s your plan for the rest of the day?” He asked, glancing down at me.

“Umm, actually, I’m hoping my mom will help me figure out my magic.” I replied. I figured since he was going to be gone, maybe she would be willing to show me a few tricks. At the same time, it would be a distraction from me missing him.

“That’s a good idea. I saw some of the stuff your mother can do and it’s pretty impressive. I can ‘t wait to see what you have up your sleeves.” He replied with a grin. I simply smiled back, I honestly have no idea what kind of abilities I have. I am only half witch, so who knows what I inherited from my mother.

We reached the pack house and walked inside.

“I’m going to shower and pack my things. I’ll come replace you before I leave.” He said and I was surprised, when he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me flush against his body. He lowered his lips and kissed me. It was a gentle, yet passionate k**s. I was shocked at how openly affectionate he was being, there were pack members walking around everywhere and he didn’t seem to care.

He pulled away from the k**s, leaving me breathless. He simply grinned at my expression and walked away without saying another word.

I love the affection he was showing me, it was a whole new side that I hadn’t seen yet and I love it.

“Earth to Jess!” I heard Sam voices, bringing me out of my thoughts. I turned around to replace her staring at me with her head c****d to the side, waving a hand in my face.

“Whatcha thinking about?” Sam asked, with a knowing grin on her face.

“Mmmm… Nothing. I was just dazed.” I replied.

“Ya right. I’m sure a certainly Alpha that happens to be your mate, has nothing to do with it.” She teased, causing me to look at her in shock. How the hell does she already know, when I just found out.

“Don’t look so surprised. Josh and I knew all along, it was just the two of you who were in denial.” She continued, with a mischievous grin. I shook my head in disbelief. It would of been nice if they had told me about this knowledge. I decided not to argue, knowing I wouldn’t get anywhere with Sam.

“So, how are you feeling?” She asked, in a more serious tone.

“Better today. I was overwhelmed last night when I first woke up, but Alpha Colton really helped calm me down.” I replied.

“Oh, he did, did he?” She teased, while wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.

“Can you be serious, for once.” I replied, while chuckling at her goofy personality.

“Alright, alright. How annoying is it, that the guys are leaving tonight, eh?” Sam, asked changing the subject. I let out a deep sigh.

“I know, since I got my wolf back and recognized Colton as my mate, I can barely stand being away from him. Like, he only left me five minutes ago and my anxiety is already creeping back. I don’t know how I’m going to survive the night.” I confessed.

“Tell me about it. I have an idea! You can sleep in my bed. I’ll wear Colton’s shirt and you wear one of Josh’s, we can spoon each other, it will be like they never even left.” Sam joked and we both laughed.

“Only if I can be the big spoon.” I said, in between fits of laughter.

“Hey, whatever floats your boat.” She replied, with a shoulder shrug.

“Let’s go replace my mother. I really want to talk to her about my witch abilities. I’m hoping she can help teach me how to control and use them.” I said, changing the subject.

“Ohhhh, that sounds like fun.” Sam replied, with an excited grin on her face.

We headed upstairs towards my mothers room. I also wanted to check on her and see how she was doing, after last night. Alpha Colton had told me, that she also fainted throughout the process of breaking the spell. I hope she’s feeling better today.
