The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret by Carly Glover -
Chapter 298 Together, let's get married
"Just Ms. Abigail here; Mr. Michael didn't show up, and Ms. Abigail is still crying."
"All right, I'll head over there immediately, bringing the paperwork I had ready, and you'll let the folks from the group's legal department know to come check it out."
"By the way, the celebratory dinner will take place in the Saeville Convention and Exhibition Center. Go extend invitations to the elite and celebs!"
Freya hastily hung up the phone, her expression a little frigid.
She cast a quick glance at Nathaniel, who was nearby answering the phone, and wondered how long this busy man would remain by her side.
She expected Nathaniel to avoid her, but he picked up the phone in her office. She sensed that he was preoccupied with Abigail.
Abigail's topic had just gained a lot of attention in Saeville. The announcement that Nathaniel and Abigail were calling off their wedding made waves around Saeville.
Abigail had always wanted to wed Nathaniel, but surprisingly, her desire was dashed.
Nathaniel chose to provide Abigail with a substantial sum of money as payment for this contract violation, and he even threw a lavish dinner for her. At dinner, he would inform everyone that Abigail was his adoptive sister.
Although Abigail had previously appeared as Nathaniel's sister, this was now an official recognition banquet.
In private, Freya scoffed.
That woman was quite problematic.
After concluding the call, Nathaniel approached Freya and said, "Frey, I will need to go back first because there is something wrong with my company."
"Mr. Nathaniel, hurry up and leave," said Freya, nodding as she took up the soup in the cup and held it up to Nathaniel.
For an instant, Nathaniel was stunned and turned to face Freya, who was holding a cup in the sunlight. At this moment, she had a really lively expression with a hint of temptation in her eyes.
Nathaniel spun around, having never seen Freya's expression like this before, moved over to grasp her chin, bent his head, and planted a kiss.
The priceless soup was all over the table when the cup collapsed.
Nathaniel gave her another gentle kiss on the corner of her lips and sighed quietly, saying, "This time, after Abigail and I are done, we will marry."
"Mr. Nathaniel, I hope you clear your mind. Since I am a murderer, will you marry me?" said Freya, grinning sweetly.
There was an unexpected shock for Nathaniel. He started to have doubts about Freya's case three years ago. He realized how wrong he was when he discovered that Abigail had caused a vehicle accident and wanted to kill Freya.
His hatred of the Gomez family had fully blinded him at that point, and all he wanted to do was destroy the family including Freya, whom he used as a tool to pursue revenge.
"Freya, when this is over, I want to marry you. Let's stop being hateful to one another. Let's move forward from that," Nathaniel muttered.
"Go ahead; don't let Ms. Abigail wait for a long time," Freya said with a smile as she assisted Nathaniel in tying his tie.
Nathaniel pursed his lips, wanting to say something, but he was at a loss for words. He was afraid Freya would become upset and furious. He turned and left the office after giving Freya's hair a quick touch. Freya drove to East Saeville after leaving the company. Peyton established a café.
Because it was not a weekend and there weren't many customers in the cafe. Peyton led Freya to the back deck.
Peyton pulled out a USB flash drive and said to Freya, "Frey, look."
Freya snatched it up and examined the USB flash disk in her hand. Peyton, on one side, lowered his voice and added, "Frey, don't be furious after I say this. Yesterday, I went to the mental hospital to see Barbara."
"I'm not furious," Freya said to Peyton. "After all, Jacob helped you, so don't worry about me. Peyton, you have your own life, and we're terrific friends, but I can't tether you to me."
