Chapter 159 The Drone Show

Freya lowered her gaze, remaining silent. Nathaniel's solo performance had reached its end. With a sudden, heavy motion, he closed the laptop before him and raised his eyes to meet Freya's.

"We need to redo the sketch!" he declared.

Freya, unable to contain her frustration any longer, took a deep breath and retorted, "Mr. Morgan, I believe it would be more appropriate to have other members of the design team evaluate my draft. Do you realize the effort required to start from scratch? Moreover, I don't entirely agree with your critique. After all, it takes a professional to understand the intricacies of the job."

Freya's blunt words left Nathaniel momentarily taken aback. It took him a while to regain his composure, but he did not react angrily to her candid remarks.

His expression softened slightly as he leaned back in his executive chair, his gaze on Freya was cold, tinged with a hint of sarcasm.

"Can't handle a bit of constructive criticism?" he taunted.

"Is that how it is?"

"Mr. Morgan," Freya responded, her gaze steady, "Few people have endured the trials I have faced. However, I don't appreciate baseless accusations. I hope you understand, Mr. Morgan." Nathaniel frowned, his gaze fixed on Freya.

Taking a deep breath, Freya continued, "Nevertheless, I will take your feedback into consideration, Mr. Morgan. If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave."

Nathaniel was momentarily taken aback, realizing that Freya had grown bold enough to challenge him.

Lately, it seemed as though this woman had seen through his internal struggles, and he found himself unable to control her.

Freya nodded, gathered her laptop, and exited Nathaniel's office.

Closing the door to the chairman's office behind her, she frowned. Nathaniel's behavior had been somewhat unreasonable, which was surprising. He was usually very strict and would not resort to such petty tactics as he had just now. It felt as though he was deliberately targeting her, and his comments had seemed childish.

As Freya disappeared from view and the door gently closed behind her, Nathaniel felt a wave of exhaustion wash over him. He raised a hand to massage his temples, a throbbing headache setting in. He was at a loss as to how to handle her now; he couldn't bring himself to torment her.

If he let her go, he felt a sense of reluctance.

With his impending marriage, where did she fit into his life?

Slowly, Nathaniel rose and moved to the window, his gaze sweeping over the opulent cityscape of Saeville.

unsettled.

Killian was Killian, and Freya was Freya.

Even if he could travel back to three years ago countless times, he would still choose to kill Killian. That man deserved his late!

Freya returned to the design department, her laptop cradled in her arms. The entire team looked up at her, their gazes filled with curiosity.

She gathered her belongings from her workstation and left the building, regardless of whether it was time to clock out. She had no desire to remain in the office.

As she exited the lobby, Taylor rushed over, undoubtedly summoned by Nathaniel.

Back at Newport Villa, she ate the meal prepared by Ms. Lovett and sequestered herself in the third-floor study to revise the draft.

Although Nathaniel's critiques had been overly critical, she agreed that the sketch needed refining. She spent several hours making corrections.

By the time Freya rose from her work, exhausted and in need of a break, night had fallen.

She stepped onto the balcony, her attention drawn by the roar of motorcycles outside the villa. A group of audacious youths were racing down the road, their noise disrupting the quiet evening.

Freya moved to the balcony, her eyes drawn to a drone show illuminating the night sky. The display formed her favorite flower, the tulip, in a golden hue. Freya was left in stunned silence.
