The President’s Mistake A Tale of Love and Regret -
Chapter 196
Chapter 196 As Long As You Don't Stir Up Trouble
Nathaniel was taken aback when Killian erupted into maniacal laughter upon hearing about Nathaniel's mother's misfortune. Killian implored Nathaniel to look after his family, expressing his readiness to relinquish everything: wealth, status, power.
He even handed over Technologent to Nathaniel, with the sole request that he treat Killian's family with kindness.
Nathaniel scoffed. Why hadn't Killian extended the same courtesy to Zander's family?
Had Killian shown even a shred of compassion, Valeria wouldn't have met such a tragic end. Nathaniel wouldn't be in his current state either.
Nathaniel watched him leap, devoid of emotion.
Unexpectedly, Nathaniel found himself growing fond of Freya.
His friends had been advising him to let her go.
Freya was out of prison, and any past grievances were now water under the bridge. He should just put her out of his mind.
He found it hard to do so- but it didn't matter. Freya was becoming increasingly difficult to control.
He planned to send her to Porejimo, to a house he had purchased for her where she could live out her remaining days.
That seemed like the most sensible course of action. They needed to stop tormenting each other.
Freya returned to Newport Villa. She selected a slightly more formal dress for the evening banquet, examining her reflection in the mirror. Her previous frailty was gone. Her gaze was now as sharp as a razor.
"Ms. Gomez!" Hudson knocked on the door.
"Mr. Morgan is inquiring if you're ready."
"I'm ready!" Freya took a deep breath, picked up her bag, and stepped out.
Upon reaching the door, she saw Nathaniel in a limited edition Rolls Royce that he rarely drove.
It appeared that he was taking the dinner with Andala Corp quite seriously, as he typically reserved this car for more significant meetings. Freya climbed in, and Nathaniel took her hand.

Freya smiled. "I'm fine, Mr. Morgan."
She tried to pull her hand away, but he only tightened his grip.
Nathaniel took a deep breath. "After we finalize an agreement with Andala Corp, you can cross-check. your design with theirs."
"I've purchased a plot of land in Stanna, Porejimo. It's registered in your name, you can live there."
"There's an artist studio there, owned by an acquaintance of mine. You can work there, your visa will be approved in the next few days." Freya was taken aback.
Nathaniel looked at Freya, gripping her hand tightly. He was resolute in his decision.
He was aware that he wouldn't have many more opportunities to touch her after this i every chance he got..
he didn't seize
"Freya, I'm exhausted. Nathaniel leaned back in his seat, still holding onto Freya's hand tightly.
He raised his other hand, massaging his temples. His heart had been acting up again, and he had been suffering from insomnia.
Freya took a deep breath. "What will happen to my mom if I go to Stanna?"
athaniel replied. "She'll accompany you. They have advanced medical facilities there, she should be
fine."
"What about Peyton? Freya asked.
Nathaniel slowly opened his eyes, offering Freya a bitter smile. "She can't accompany you, but I'll ensure Hudson takes care of her future.
"Her tea shop is doing quite well."
Freya's heart skipped a beat. Nathaniel had actually been keeping an eye on Peyton.
Nathaniel thought that Freya was upset, and attempted to smile more broadly. "Freya, the last time you tried to leave, you insisted on taking your friend with you."
"I know what's going through your mind. You're worried I might mistreat your friend."
"This time..." Nathaniel paused. "I'm letting you go. I won't harm your friend, she'll live peacefully in Sacville. As long as you don't stir up any more trouble."
