Mandy asked everyone to leave, wanting to speak with Frey alone. She then announced that Frey would be taking charge of the design department at Andala Corp from now on.

Once the office was empty, Mandy nearly leaped from her seat, locked the door, and approached Frey with exaggerated humility.

"Ms. Frey, are you satisfied with the terms we discussed?"

"If not, we can always renegotiate! After all, it's your money we're talking about, right?"

"Oh, and let me help you with transportation. Do you need a driver? Have you found an apartment? I can help with that as well..."

Mandy's constant chatter amused Frey.

Frey considered for a moment. "I've already found an apartment myself. As for my car, just replace a modest one for me, something around a hundred thousand dollars. It shouldn't be too flashy. It needs to match the status of a chief designer without drawing too much attention."

"I can drive myself, so no need for a driver at the moment. And please, don't treat me like your boss. You're doing a great job."

Frey's instructions were clear and straightforward.

"Understood, Ms. Frey. What will your working hours be?"

Frey smiled. "I'll follow the regular schedule, clock in and out, and keep normal weekends. Just make sure I don't have to work overtime." Mandy, slightly puzzled, wondered about the overtime comment. If she worked overtime, shouldn't she still work overtime for herself?

After she was done with the paperwork, Frey officially became an employee of Andala Corp and agreed with Mandy to start the next day.

Frey first bought some items and visited Peyton, who was sick. She peeled an apple for her before driving a second-hand car, just purchased by Mandy, to the hospital.

The car was exactly what she had requested, as it was low-key and just right for her.

Frey remembered the severity of Jacob's injuries that night. While the initial impact wasn't critical, the repeated assaults by Nathaniel had caused serious harm.

Jacob was staying at Municipal Hospital, a place Frey was quite familiar with due to her past injuries.

After buying a bouquet and replaceing the inpatient department, Frey headed to the tenth floor.

As she neared the ward, someone suddenly grabbed her hair. Taken by surprise, she barely had time to react before being struck hard in the face. Her vision blurred and her ears rang. "Why won't you just die? Why do you keep causing my son so much pain?"

Barbara, furious, attacked Frey, dragging her to the ground and kicking her in the stomach.

"What's going on?"

"Why is there a fight?"

"Isn't that Barbara? And... is that Ms. Frey? I heard she and Mr. Nath..."

Frey was caught off guard by Barbara's unexpected aggression. Before she could recover, Barbara had already dragged her to the floor.

The Rivera family members, while ostensibly trying to calm Barbara, were just creating a distraction.

The Rivera family was enraged with Frey. They believed that if it weren't for her, their eldest son wouldn't have had the fallout with Nathaniel, wouldn't have repeatedly clashed with him, and wouldn't have ended up in a nearly fatal situation.

The incident involving Nathaniel was in the suburbs, away from any surveillance, and the Morgan family had managed to destroy all evidence. The police had concluded that the accident was caused by a group of drag racers, with Koen taking full responsibility for it.

The Rivera family now blamed Frey for Jacob's troubles, suspecting her of causing discord or bewitching him.
