The Proud Boss Lady. -
Chapter 38: 38
"Bella, it's good to see you went by your words," Jess said as she entered with three more friends.
"I told you I will. Anyways Kate here wants to have her hair done, Ana wants a manicure and a pedicure, Claudia wants to re-dye her hair and I want a full spa treatment," she told. Within a couple of weeks after Jess's expansion, she had hired staff for the new services she had added to her salon.
"You got it." Jess smiled.
"Meg, Selly and Ben...you heard the lady please attend to them," she said respectively as they approached their various customers and led them to their workspace.
"Kate please have a seat, and what hairdo do you want?" she asked as the young lady sat down.
"I want long blonde coloured butterfly locks." she specified.
"Okay, I hope your hair is washed already or we've got to wash it?" she inquired.
"We've got to wash it," she replied.
"It's best to let him out of your heart than keep on hoping for something that would never happen." A voice said behind Amelia. She sat on the football stands watching Cody play from a distance. "It's not that easy, you know," she replied.
"The painful part is watching someone you love, love someone else," he answered as Amelia turned to stare at him.
"Hi, I'm Zayn, Zayn Huxley, a sophomore in your advanced English class." he introduced.
"I'm Amelia, Ame---
"Amelia Velasquez, I know." he smiled. He had a really beautiful smile and was on the hockey team, quarterback to be precised
"It's nice to meet you Zayn." she had admired him from afar but didn't dare to talk to him. She just liked him for how calm and collected he was for a quarterback. Cody stood on the field starring at Amelia talk to Zayn. His blood boiled as he clenched his fists in anger. He stormed off the field as his teammates called for him.
"There you are," Rita and Lauren both said at the same time.
"Sorry, hi Zayn." they greeted.
"Hi, I was just leaving by the way." he handed Amelia's phone to her. He made a feature with his hand asking her to call him.
"How lucky are you?" Rita asked her rhetorically.
" I never knew you were close with Zayn," Lauren stated.
"I wasn't, he just came to talk to me while I watched Cody play, then he gave me his number after a short talk," she confessed.
"Amelia, aren't you trying hard enough? He doesn't want you. Move on." Lauren suggested.
"It's not that easy." she sighed.
"Just ignore him, focus on Zayn. It's clear he likes you." Rita added.
"Hey, are you okay? you stormed off the field angry." Jack stated.
"Im fine, I just needed some air," he responded.
"Okay, but coach needs you on the field asap." he gave him the news and walked off.
Why did I get mad?
it's not as if I like her....
Or, do I?
No, no, nope...I don't. he convinced himself walking out of the changing room.
"Thanks, Jess for your services." Bella smiled. They all loved Ana's nails and they ended up having their nails done as well.
"No, thank you Bella for honouring your promise. I'd see you next time?" she inquired.
"Of course, you're kinda stuck with us now. You know your stuff. I mean I look great on these." Kate voiced out.
"Thanks, Kate, and do have a wonderful evening," Jess added as the four friends walked out.
Apart from Bella and her friends, the place was booming with other customers having their hair and nails done and also a full body massage. This expansion wasn't bad after all.
Jackie sat in her studio. She had decided to do a cover on Jessie J's song 'Flashlight'. She put on her headphones and began singing...
"When tomorrow comes
I'll be on my own
Feeling frightened of
The things that I don't know
When tomorrow comes
Tomorrow comes
Tomorrow comes
And though the road is long
I look up to the sky
And in the dark I found,
I lost hope that I won't fly
And I sing along, I sing along
And I sing along
I got all I need when I got you and I
I look around me and see a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
Kick start my heart when you shine it in my eyes
Can't lie, it's a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
'Cause you're my flashlight (flashlight)
You're my flashlight (flashlight)
You're my flashlight
I see the shadows long beneath the mountain top
I'm not afraid when the rain won't stop
'Cause you light the way
You light the way, you light the way
I got all I need when I got you and I
I look around me and see a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
Can't stop my heart when you shinin' in my eyes
I can't lie, it's a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
(You're my flashlight)
You're getting me, getting me through the night
'Cause you're my flashlight
'Cause you're my flashlight
You're my flashlight
You're my flashlight
Light light
You're my flashlight
Light light ye-yeah
You're my flashlight...." She ended as the number of views on her YouTube channel went higher. She had recorded the song on a live video with her fans.
"Judy, about my love life...the man I love is in denial. He can't see how much I love him and it sucks trust me," she replied to a comment.
"When are you, Alicia and Kyle going to do a song together?" Another fan asked.
"Very soon, we are working on something so you guys should anticipate," she answered.
She spent some time answering questions and interacting with her fans throughout the night. It wasn't as if she had important business to take care of the next day, she didn't so it was best she kept herself busy with them. At least that was entertaining.
"Ma'am, you've got a call." her housekeeper brought her phone to her.
"Thanks, Titi, say hi to my fans," she told her as she waved the screen before walking out.
Jackie checked the screen of her phone to see she had a missed call from Mason. She dropped the phone on the table beside her and continued with what she was doing.
Not now Mase, not now.
