The Rebel
Chapter 38

Logan’s POV

I stared at her as she walked out of the bathroom and headed straight to the bar.

Something seemed wrong.

Was it because I brought her here without telling her?

Did my touch still bother her?

She’s not a people person, I can see that, but I still wanted everyone to know what she meant to me until she said she didn’t want to.

I respected his decision.

My gaze hardened as she downed her third glass.

Werewolves may be intolerant of it, but his wolf is absent. She’s no better than a human right now.

How can she be so stupid?

She closed her eyes and asked the bartender for another drink.

She just threw up her shit and now she’s drinking?

What is this mess ?

“Your Highness, what about the next meeting.” We almost caught the mysterious Rebel last time. I’m sure we won’t miss it this time. »

I heard the elder next to me say. I just nodded at him, ignoring an important discussion.

” Of course. I’ll organize another one. »

“Elder… If you will excuse me.” I’ll be right back. »

I apologized and rushed towards her. I held her drink before she could down it.

“What are you doing, Vera?” »

Her beautiful eyes fell on me, and then she did something that made my heart jump out of my chest.

She gave me a smile.

I swear I felt everything in that moment.

She was so beautiful.

“Hi…Logi,” she said, lunging at me and I was stunned.

Logi? Well, that was new.

No matter how weird the nickname was, coming from her pretty lips, it was music to my ears.

She was drunk.

Otherwise, how she spoke to me like we were childhood best friends.

“Vera?” Are you drunk? I asked, holding his hands, preventing his wobbling figure from falling.

Looking up at me with her innocent eyes, she moved her head to say no.

” No. I… Just had two drinks…” she said pointing at me and I rolled my eyes at her.

The Vera I knew for so many years is gone, replaced by this innocent, childish girl who didn’t have a care in the world.

“Hey!” You. Fill it up,” she said, turning to give the bartender the order.

He looked scared, his eyes moving between Vera and me when I moved my head to say no.

“Sorry ma’am, but it’s over. »

“You liar!” You’re just a man…! “, she said, almost jumping in her chair to hold him by the collar.

When I pulled her back, lifting her feet off the ground, she kicked him.

Vera’s fierceness was still present.

She couldn’t get lost no matter how many drinks she had.

Smiling, I dragged her away and walked out the back door.

I saw people staring at me, but it didn’t bother me.

We were almost to our car when it stopped, pulling me back.

Digging her heels in the mud, she refused to leave.

“Come on Vera. Let’s go home. »

She moved her head no. She protested and rebelled.

She almost tore herself from my hold and ran inside.

I followed her to hold her by the waist.

Her back on my chest as I rested my chin on her shoulder from behind, trying to calm her down.

“Vera,” I said, but she stamped her foot like a child.

“Logiiiiii…”

I couldn’t help but chuckle.

“Vera, please.” »

“Logiiiiiii, please.” »

Rolling my eyes, I picked her up, her yelling at me.

On my way to the car, I ordered the valet to open the door and I gently set her down.

” Stay. »

She pouted, but didn’t protest. I looked at his hands as I put the seat belt on him and then closed the door.

I signaled to the driver to give me the keys.

“But your highness…”

“It’s okay. You can leave. »

Taking the keys from him, I pressed the ignition and took off.

Looking at her, now silent, I asked, “Are you feeling okay?” »

She just nodded and we drove in silence until she grabbed the steering wheel and asked me to stop the car.

I stopped to see her looking uncomfortable.

Slamming the door, she ran into the wilderness, staggering, but she managed.

I approached her, but she showed me her hand and asked me not to follow her.

She took deep breaths and stood there, as if she had felt suffocated earlier.

She was looking at the stars, and I leaned against the car looking at her.

What was wrong?

Why was it so difficult to understand?

A few minutes of silence passed when she turned to look at me.

There were tears in her eyes and it made my heart hurt.

“I’m sorry, Logan. That

‘s all she said as she approached me, and I looked at her in confusion trying to remember the reason for her apology.

” For what ? What happened ? »

Moving her head in a no sign, she approached me with a sad smile. His eyes drifted to my lips, making the wolf inside me stir.

“I need you, Logan…I have…”

“What is it, Vera?” Tell me ? »

She didn’t answer. Her innocent brown orbs moved between my lips and my eyes.

“Is there anything you can do for me?” »

Oh Vera. I will lay the world at your feet if you ask me.

Tucking her bangs behind her ear, she stroked her cheek with my thumb.

I nodded at him.

But what she asked paralyzed my senses and froze my brain.

” K**s Me. »

My wolf went crazy in my head. Is it true ? My Vera… She was asking me to k**s her.

I leaned in to follow my instincts, and she closed her eyes.

Her luscious lips were more than inviting. I wanted to do it and show her so much: make her feel loved and adored like never before.

My lips were inches from her. I felt his breath on my lips, making my heart beat rapidly.

When I stopped, I closed my eyes and clenched my fist. I moved my head and came out of the daze. I stepped back, unable to look at her. I muttered my apologies. “I’m sorry, Vera… I… Can’t… you’re drunk and you don’t know… What you want. I don’t want you to regret it later. »

Her eyes hardened on me, as if she wasn’t happy with my decision.

And suddenly I was pushed onto the car, and his lips crashed against mine.
